I just came back from a 2 week holiday in Surmeli. I must say that the hotel was fantastic and so was the staff everybody tried to make you feel welcome. However i do feel like i should mention that i did have a problem with one memeber of the amination team. A member of their entertainment team pushed my daughter (who is 9) and obviously this really upset her and made her very anxious whenever that member of staff was around. We did make our feeling clear to the mangers of the aminmation team but i would say that the situation wasn't dealt with the way i would of wanted dealt with or should i say if an english holiday company eg. thomas cook etc was at the hotel. But luckly my daughter got over it and by the last three days started to use the chidren's club.
My daughter did enjoy the children's club and although the 3 girls who ran the club where turkish and russian and there english was limited they really tried there best. Once again however i am a child care worker and in my oppion it is not run up to english standards as my daughter is a sensible 9 years old i didn't mind to much.
The food is really good but doesn't change that much so be prepared to eat the roughly the same for two weeks, but that didn't bother us because we expcted it. If you have a fussy eaters then you might find it a problem my daughter ate chicken and fried potatos for 2 weeks, but like i said it didn't bother me.
The complex is really clean and the pools are great but be prepared to get up really early to claim sun lougers (we set our alarms for 6 in the morning to get sun lougers near the baby pool of the main swimming pool).
Overal we had a fantastic time but the daily entertainment didn't change there is not a great deal to do during the day. I would say though knowing what i know now if you are thinking about going to Kusadasi and you could afford a little more cash i would reccommend you going to Aqua Fantasy or Pine bay which are just down the road.
I know this review looks a little negitive that isn't my intention but for a couple the hotel is ideal but for a family like i said the 2 hotels down the road would probley suit you more.

This is a great hotel, thats right on the beach with plenty to do.
The facilites, people, surroundings, food, activities and sports programme, and entertainment were all superb. Every where was clean and fresh with helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is about 8km from Kusadasi in a quiet area with just a few hotels and a water park. As the hotel and grounds were so large with so many facitites you didnt feel isolated.
We had booked a family suite which was situated in the two blocks of suites. These had a separate double bedroom, and a lounge area (which is about the same size as a typical hotel room), off this lounge area and the hall was a separate open plan bedroom area. So it meant that not only did we have our own room but the 2 kids also had a separate room area each.
We looked at the rooms in the main hotel which were very nicely decorated but just standard hotel room size although they can squeeze 4 beds in. We were delighted to have booked the suite.
The British make up about 1/5th of the holiday makers, there were also a large number of people from Armenia, France, Iran, Macadonia, Romania, everyone we spoke to seemed very friendly.
We are in our forties with a 10 and a 5 year old and we all enjoyed the holiday. We have been traveling to 4* or 5 * all inclusive hotels around twice a year for many years. so have plenty of experience to base this review upon.

We have just returned from a week long stay at the Surmeli Hotel. Overall, it was very good. The hotel is quite a distance from Kusadasi and as a result, we didn't leave the hotel complex all week. We had a 10 year old and a 2 year old with us. We hardly saw the 10 year old as he made friends with other kids. There was also a mini club catering for children from ages 4 and above during the day and evening. The hotel benefits from an excellent animation team who provide a wide variety of activities during the day and entertainment at night should you choose to get involved. We stayed in a family room on the fourth floor of a series of accommodation blocks adjacent to the hotel. As there were no lifts in the blocks it certainly was a mini workout carrying a two year old plus buggy etc up and down the stairs every day! The rooms were clean, fairly basic (not 5star) but ok. Food was a bit hit and miss. There was something for everyone and plenty available. All meals are buffet service so the food wasn't always hot by the time you got to your table. The all inclusive package was ideal for us as it meant we weren't tied to set meal times and the 10 year old could go and eat with his friends whenever it suited them. Hotel staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Very family orientated hotel. Would rate it as 4 star. Well worth a visit for a week for a family holiday.

I had a great holiday in the Hotel. The staff are very nice and every one speaks English very well. the quality of foods was really good and they wereall delicious and and any kind of food for all tastes are available there. The Italian and Turkish restaurant are so nice.
Animation team are so good. with lots of nice programs for the guests. they are all so cute and kind. They guide you really well. The show-time which is at 9:30-10:30 every night is nice and funny. They also play live music in pool bar every night which makes a great ambiance there.
I really recommend this Hotel..It's just wonderful.

Having read some dodgy reviews I was a bit panicked. We had a great time. 2 adults triplets aged 8.Its not like 5 star at home but was great .Fantastic selection of food to suit all tastes. Eat a la carte for Italian as its great to be served so well. Grounds of hotel well maintained staff always attentive, but often too busy to show true Turkish hospiality and friendship. This is my only negative point about about going all inclusive.Being tied to resort as we had paid for food. Trips out -make sure to do adaland water park, ephesus,Selchuk for the market on saturdays(much cheaper than Kusadasi market)and museum is very good if you are into antiquities.Go by Dolmus or haggle with taxis.Beach excellent great shade for hot days. but needs a beach bar.Entertainment not my husband and I cup of tea but people seemed to really enjoy it .It has to appeal to all nationalities Turks, Romanian,Iranian, Belorussian Russian what a great mix. Beach party fantastic fun go early. Kids loved shows and kids club Kids club is not for the nervous. No names taken, no contact point, kids could wander in and out. Not EU standards of safety.staff casual but really lovely with the children
Our room was good, aircon excellent garden room good for us as close to pool on ground floor no stairs with weary kids.but I think in main hotel may be better ??Fridge broken didnt report it right away. may be 4 days in. Man came, eventually agreed with me that it was broken said he would bring back a new one . i am still waiting! I could have made a fuss but we were having such a good time i didnt want to ruin the vibe.
We enjoyed this Hotel very much and so will you. Have a good one

My daughter and I stayed for a week all inclusive and have no complaints at all about the hotel, except we wished we had booked a fortnight! The food, service and staff all excellent. Magnificent pool. Bedrooms comfortable and good maid service everyday. The beach was a bit of a let down, sea had a lot of seaweed but as pool was so huge it didn't matter. You can never please all of the people all of the time but I bet this hotel would please the majority.

As we didn't check all our papers, we had to pay for last night, because we bought trip on-line, flight from Bristol was on 10.00pm (was short delay) and our booking started from 28.05, but we arrived only on 29.05 7.00am, we missed our lunch, dinner, we didn't sleep at night time, because we arrived before next day breakfast, we paid extra £120, it's mean we paid for service which we didn't have. It's very sad. Next time we should to check every paper every word on confirmation email.
Room was clean and tidy, room have been cleaned every day, towels have been changed every day too.
Food was fantastic, but it was not enough fruits, just apples, plums, oranges and watermelon for dinner. Fresh juices, ice-cream were not for free (about £3.00). You can have tee, coffee, lemonade, wine, beer all day long unlimited. Were plenty desserts at meal time, that is why you will not miss ice-cream or chocolate.
The beach is good and clean.
Our travel agent in Surmeli Efes was Alex (Regal travel agency), and we are very unhappy with his service. He wants just only have profit, but not care about people pleasure. We went to Pamukkale (travel agency was REGAL - please do not use this agency, very unpleasand), and he didn't say that it's about 200 miles from hotel, and we will be back to hotel about 10.00pm. Bus was very dirty and without aircondition. We were very unhappy about this trip. Another which we booked with Alex (we made 3 booking in first day - it was our mistake) was Fantasy aqua park (you can see it from Surmeli hotel) - we didn't enjoy, it's for kids not older than 14 year.
May be our review is not very happy, but we wanted to say to everybody do not use service which provided by Alex and travel agency REGAL.
If you want just relax on a beach, have nice meal and enjoy summer I recommend Surmeli Efes hotel, but please, please do not use Regal company.

The Surmeli Efes hotel is fantastic. We arrived at about 9:30pm, just as dinner was finishing. The staff were very accomodating, allowing us to eat anyway while our bags were taken to the room. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable with a (smallish) balcony with a fantastic sea view. The hotel is orientated so all rooms have a sea view as well. Staff were very helpful and friendly with very good english. The food was also fantastic, with a wide range of food from traditional Turkish food to hamburgers and chips. There is food available at pretty much any time of day aswell. Drinks were obviously free, water is available in bottles to take to the beach if you want, nice fruit juices avaiable all over the hotel and ample number of bars to get drinks from too. Entertainment was brilliant, the animation team, which we assumed was aimed at children, was very varied, with activities including shooting, archery, football, volleyball, etc etc run by 6 or 7 friendly, talkative youngsters who were very enthusiastic. Night time entertainment is available, it is a bit cheesy but its fun! The hotel is very popular with eastern European countries, Belarus or Romania were the best represented countries whilst we were there, although there were quite a few English famililes and as mentioned, the staff all speak English. The beach is good, gorgeous sand, warm water, if a bit shallow, but you can't complain about the sea! Watersports are available but they do cost, albeit not much. As for the area, apparently there is a lot to do, although we didn't even leave the hotel. the pool areas are very comfortable and well laid out, and the pools are big and warm and not too busy. The room was nice, nothing too fancy, but the beds were incredibly comfortable, air conditioning was adequate and the view was very good. Overall, I can find no fault with the Surmeli Efes, and would definetly recommend it to anybody. Would love to go back!

Surmeli Efes is about 5 miles from Kusadasi itself. It is an excellent hotel and the staff are extremely friendly, if you have any problems just speak to them and they will do everything they can do to help you. There’s lots of space and its a great place to have a relaxing holiday, if you want to visit the town there are Dolmus’ (local buses) departing frequently from opposite the security lodge and they cost approximately £2, or taxis are available from the same point.
Take Euros and Pounds NOT Lira, we made the mistake of listening to the travel agent at home who said it was better to take lira. Its NOT they tend to rip you off a little bit and you’ll get better value for money in Euros. Most things are priced in Euros anyway.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, we stayed in the main hotel on the 4th floor, there was a separate section which we found out was for families with children under 5. The room we stayed in was quite large compared to other hotels I’ve stayed in. The maid came everyday and changed the sheets and towels, and the water from the fridge was also replaced daily free of charge. The sea view from the balcony was lovely at sunset, but the door was very heavy to slide.
Our holiday rep, Omer from Med Hotels was great. If you don’t receive a letter soon after arrival with a time your rep will be there to speak to you, go to reception and ask them. There is also a board with all the details about trips etc. to the right of the entrance to the main restaurant. We went on a boat trip, jeep safari and ½ day at Ephesus. All were well worth going on. The jeep Safari was a great day out and so much fun, and I’d recommend the ½ day for Ephesus if you want to go. The tickets just looked like receipts and we had a panic one day. My partner got some bad bites (I didn’t have any the whole holiday) and we had to find our travel insurance and in the process left the tickets on the bed, the maid came and changed the sheets and we didn’t see them again, thankfully the trip runners said that a signature was just as good so it doesn’t really matter if you lose your tickets.
The sea is not crystal clear, but its clean and warm and there are pedalos and kayaks that you can use for free, if you need the paddles then ask. You can get clean towels for the beach everyday from the entrance to the indoor swimming pool, which is also great if you want to use it. Tokens were meant to be used to get the towels but we just went and asked and they gave us the towels. There are some lovely staff there and are happy to help if you ask. The animation team also try and get you involved; we had a go at beach volleyball one day which was good fun. The poolside can be a bit slippy if you don’t walk on the slip resistant mat around the edge of the pool. The 3 pools were spotlessly clean and we always found 2 sunloungers together whenever we went to the pool.
The bars served all sorts of soft drinks, and all local spirits were free e.g. vodka, amaretto, whisky, brandy, raki. A word of warning if you try raki its quite potent and the locals sometimes mix it with water. The measures are very generous, and the bar staff made some fantastic cocktails, if you asked them for a bit of this and that to make your own they’d do that for you. My partner made some great ones that way.
There’s plenty to eat, outside the main restaurant they cook all sorts for you, every morning there were omelettes, fried eggs, pancakes and waffles which were all delicious. Meals were themed on some nights, the Turkish night was fantastic, if you try everything there’s plenty to eat. We had an amazing waiter, if you chat to them and not just treat them like someone to clear your dishes and bring you drinks they will make sure you have everything you could want. We sat outside every night with the same waiter and he would bring wine and beer and water for us every time without us even asking. And would always check if there was anything else he could do for us.
The holiday was great! We just wished we could have stayed there for longer although it was very very hot so remember to take lots of sun cream!
