Novotel Lille Centre Hotel

Lille is a beautiful European city offering you everything you would want.
I spent a few days and I feel I covered most of the city. There are restaurants and bistros offering all different cuisines. Hidden shops and boutiques on cobbled streets and shopping malls everywhere.
The architecture is amazing and you can go and visit many of the old buildings, particularly those in the main square.
There are many things to do too. I recommend the tourist office as they are incredibly polite and helpful with organising trips. They recommended the City Tour Bus which gives you a great overview of the city. I also took their advice to travel on the metro where I traveled to neighbouring towns where I went to a real French market! That is an experience worth visiting.
Many museums on offer as well from canon museums to art museums if you like a bit of culture.
Eurolille is a massive shopping centre located right buy the train station. They have really good sales and loads of shops to visit.
I took the Eurostar from Waterloo and it was extremely quick and fun. You come out of Lille station, take a short walk, literally 5 minutes and you are right in the centre.
There is another station called Lille Flanders which can take you to Brussels.
I stayed in Novotel Lille Centre Grand Place which is a very nice hotel, with a short walk from the centre. The rooms have been modernized with curvy sinks and rotating tables. They even have LCD colour changing sinks in the toilets in reception. How very cool. Breakfast is also very nice. I give this hotel top marks.
All in all, a fabulous city, can be 'done' in 2-3 days, well worth it.
