Aug 2010, Eric

Visited this hotel from August 7 till August 14.
A lot of noise at the main swimming pool, music stood far too loud. At the other swimming pool at the other side of the hotel it was not easy to find a deck chair. You had to get up at 7 am to reserve one. Food was excellent except that the music in the restaurant was not typical turkisch music, it was most of the time American music. After 6 pm it was difficult to get some drinks because all bars were closed at that time. I should rate this Hotel a 4 star but certainly not a 5 star.

returned 10 april 2010,the place is lovely, very clean, food very nice and plenty to choose from, staff very friendly (if you go say hi to mustafa from me),the service was impecable, the only thing that was disapointing was that it was to early in the season for the aqua-park and the a la carte restuarants, these do not open until may,for us not a problem, for those with children this could have been, ther was an indoor and an outdoor pool open, for those who want a relaxing peaceful holiday this is the time for you, i forgot to mention that you can still book an a la carte meal, it is served around the indoor pool in the evening, the weather was very good for the time of year only 2 cloudy days.Would definalty return to this hotel again.

Well where do i start.....Apart from the transfer being 3 hours when we were told 40 mins when booking this holiday the worst is still to come!!!
We checked into what we thought was a 5* hotel with a Standard Bungalow Club room as they call it. It was disgusting, there were wood lice crawling everywhere, the room was dark and dingy and the bathroom was just vile. let alone being single beds that was meant to be a double. I complained to the recption and got laughed at and was told there was no double beds in the whole hotel, they was all singles that had to be pushed together. That was not a major issue, the cleanliness was. When your expecting 5* standard and you get what is quiet possibly a 2-3* your not going to be happy!!! I was told 'madam you have booked a standard room, our hotel is 1st class'. Yeah right!! After reading reviews and their website you are in for a shock at what you get unless your in the Hotel part. We had to pay £110 to upgrade to what was a far better room but wouldnt say it was a superior, just what you would expect as standard room. I would understand if i had booked a 38 hotel and got what we got. And i also understand that stanradrs change from country to country but not this dramatically.
I go onto the food...again no better than any 3*, some nights ok opthers not, it was all a bit of a mish mash and the so called ' A La Carte' is even worse, i had a better meal at the airport bar in Gatwick. We had mexican and was rushed through a 4 course meal in 25 mins. then we had Italian another night, the soup was cold and the main meal was tasteless and took forever to chew!!! The only nice part about the restuarant are the waiters, they are so friendly even though they cannot speak english. The only thing we could find nice about the food was the ice cream! oh and if it rains which it did on one occasion then you are put in a room which is like a very informal canteen where you all sit together on long tables like you are at school lunch.
Even though its so called All Inc the drinks variety is crap. you either get soft drinks, 1 type of beer, wine, vodka, gin or Cocktail of the day that was awful and so sour!
BEWARE if you struggle to walk or have health issues, the hills here are unbelivable. And there is no mention of this in any reviews or the hotel website. Its either very steep hills are 100's of steps, which is ok if you was young like us. Even just to get from the hotel reception or pool to your bungalow is a misson in itself and its even worse if you wana go to beach!!! The upside to the pool is that you can always get a sunbed and it is very relaxing and there a quiet areas for you to go if thats what you prefer. there is also an indoor pool which is great for the kids, especially for entertaining them when it rains and it is warmer than the outdoor. The beach does get a little busier but still always a sunbed and more secluded quieter areas.
All in all i will never visit Turkey again, i will quite happily say it was the worst country i may have ever visited! It was like Chavs R Us and it makes me wonder if thats why the reviews were so good, either that or they stayed in the hotel part. so glad that i only wasted 400 on this hotel as if it had been anymore i would have been gutted.
The only good thing to come out the holiday was that the weather was fab for end of September and me and my chap had some much needed quality time together!!!

My husband and I stayed at Pine Bay...

My husband and I stayed at Pine Bay in July this year.
It was our first visit to Turkey.
I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well furnished with good air conditioning and even carpet on the floors. The hotel is designed in tiers resembling the style of a cruise ship with several bars and seating areas with comfortable leather sofas. There are three restaraunts and we could eat in both the Marina and Panorama restaraunts once each during our stay included in our all-inclusive package. The food in all restaurants was amazing with show cooking every night. Even the all day snacks were served to us in the beach bar and snack bars. so we still felt like we were having lunch out!
There are numerous pools around the complex with literally hundreds of sun loungers around pool areas, gardens and right along the hotel's private beach. so even in July it was easy to get a bed. There is something for everyone regarding entertainment. The dancers were really good and children enjoyed discos and games every night. If you just want a quiet night you can sit around the pool which looks beautiful lit up at night, or there was a singer in the piano bar.
The hotel has it's own shops selling everything from sun lotion to gorgeous handbags. We booked a Turkish bath and massage at the spa which was a great experience. It cost around £80 each, but that was our treat for the holiday. You can also use tha spa jacuzzi, sauna and steam room free on the all-inclusive package, which is really great after a day in the sun.
The staff were second to none really friendly and will always make time to talk. Nothing is too much trouble.
Although the hotel is set up in the hillside, the regular dolmus stops at the gates every 5 minutes and costs around £1 per person to get to Kusadasi. (journey takes around 10 minutes)
The drag act at Roxy's bar is well worth a visit in Kusadasi and we would recommend the Del Boy bar beside it for food, drink and a really warm welcome,
The market in Kusadasi is great for bargains.
All in all a great place to stay at a really good price for two weeks holiday if you want a bit of luxury and a friendly atmosphere. Definitely warrants it's five stars!

Me and my partner booked this hotel 6weeks before we went, we wanted a quick get away. Everything about the hotel was lovely, great nice, we did get a bungalow at first which i will admit was rediculousy small and there was no way i could stay in there for two weeks so we paid to upgrade to the hotel rooms which was waayyy better!! Animation team soo funny and tried there best to make the entertainment good, overall it wasnt bad to be honest. The food stunningly presented and very nice especially when outside towards the end it did get brought inside as was getting windy as was towards the end of season. Did get 4 days of rain but its luck to be honest and there was plenty to do in the hotel. I will say one thing which didnt bother me as it was a quick get away maybe would if i went in summer there was far to many duetch and german who were very rude, also the reception did put there culture and other before the english but we did meet a few people. It was a fantastic holiday and would defnitly return and recommend.

We stayed in apartments, after complaining we were moved to a better apartment, the previous being very old and dismol! Lovely settings, hotel spot less nice location although quiet, buses available to travel the area. Very relaxing, hotel amenities brilliant good entertainment for all ages, clean and well equiped, shop, turkish baths.
There is a lady who works for hotel speaks all languages and assists with all problems and very approachable.
Food was of good variety with a choice of two restauraunts aswell buffett. The food was typical holiday buffet and of good standard and plenty of choice and varety, we never had the same thing twice. Beach bars also.
Taxi's and buses from hotel door good in price, helpful.
No arguing over sunbeds there was plenty, the hotel private beach is spot less and clean blue waters.
Would recommend to anyone who doesn't want heavy nightlife, but a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

me and my boyfriend had an amzing time here at the hotel. the hotel itself is absolutly beautiful! its like a palace. the staff are so lovely and helpfull and un like other coutrys you dont feel watched, pressured or anything to give money.
the food was lovely and changed alot, there was a great selection and often done theme nights ie- kebabs! although the breakfast could have been better.
the cleainess of the whole resort was fantastic. pools cleaned daily, rooms cleaned daily and stocked.
the private beach is gorgeous and was so beautifull at sunset.
entertainment was sooooo good, the staff did a good range.
you had a free pass to a aqua park 5 mins walk 2 mins drive away, and a free continuous bus to take and collect you.
there were also bus's that would come every 10 mins outside the hotel and take you in to kusadasi town which is great, this costs about 70p per person.
the locals are great and very respectfull yet chatty!
in the main town you get the local shop owners hassleling abit but then you get that everywhere. theres a great market on twice a week which i would strongy advise you go if you want the bargins!
we loved it sooooo much we are going again this year but for 2 weeks!

The hotel itself, is very...

The hotel itself, is very picturesque. You can stay in either the apartments on the hills or in the attached hotel. We stayed in the apartments that consisted of a separate room with a double bed and a room with 2 single beds/couches, they also had either a small patio area or balcony at the front. The gardens were colourful with hammocks hanging from the trees. We witnessed some impressive sun sets. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily, there was a bit of an ant problem in the bathroom. The fridge was small and not very cold, but replenished daily with 2 bottles of water and coke daily.
There was a lot of families with young children and babies there, but the hotel itself is split level so there was a lot of up hill walking and a very steep walk from the beach to your apartment or hotel complex, however the hotel did have a courtesy bus that would drive you around the hotel grounds if you wanted to.
We visited the hotel with our three teenage children and was disappointed to find out that we were the only British couple with children of that age. Most of the tourists visiting were from Belgium or Russia, we only met a few couples that were from Britain, which we did not mind but we did feel sorry for the children as they did not make much friends, which was our main reason for choosing an all inclusive hotel.
The entertainment was good but after a while did start to get a bit repetitive. In the evening you have the choice of the cocktail bar, a small quiet bar inside the hotel. The piana bar, this has tables and seats inside and outside and every night you would have someone playing easy listening music, nice and relaxing but again a bit repetitive. The amphitheatre down near the beach had a show every night at 9, which was sometimes quite good as they involved members of the audience, and then ended the night with their holiday song/dance, once the amphitheatre finished the beach disco started, here they played the latest dance music and from time to time covered you in bubbles.
Day time you had the choice of going down to the beach or staying around the swimming pool, the entertainment here was very good, especially for young children, there was various games and competitions on all day long, there is several bars and restaurants open at different times of the day, with two beach bar/cafes at either side of the beach.
There are also water sports, tennis courts, and football pitch as well as a health spa and gym.
The food was nice enough with plenty of choice but I would not go all inclusive again as I feel the family never sat together for a meal as we were always leaving the table at different times for food. I also felt that I never enjoyed a really nice meal.
All inclusive alcohol consisted of local vodka, gin, wine and beer and a few cocktails that was made from these, sadly for me, no rum.
All in all we had a nice holiday, in a lovely location, but we would not go back there as we felt that we missed out on the atmosphere of being in Turkey and that the hotel felt like it could have been anywhere.
I would recommend this hotel to single couples and couples with young children looking for somewhere peaceful to relax, just be aware that there is a lot of up hill walking!
