Pigale Beach Resort Reviews
" Pretty good "
Submitted By: weedollThe apartments where very clean and the cleaners changed towels and cleaned bathroom every day. I didnt see any insects or any creepy crawlys in my room the whole time!!! The pool was nice and clean and so refreshing to jump into after chilling in the beautiful weather!! They also have a water slide which was absolutely great fun, it doesnt look as big as in the pictures but it was alot more fun than I expected. Overall my stay was good the biggest thing I would complain about is the animation team. They are really nice people but every couple of hours they are on at you to get involved in different activities, which is great for some but for me I just wanted to chill out and get involved when I felt like it. They drink wasnt very strong but that didnt bother me too much meant I got to see the sun each day. We went into Kusadasi on two nights to a bar called Murphys, just for a change of scenery and a bite to eat. I def recommend you do this, the staff are great and the food is gorgeous!!! Also on the way home we we went from Bodrum airport and the prices are ridiculous, I got charged Fifty TL in the upstairs restaurant for four cups of tea and when I tried to argue he was wrong he put money in his till, I later found out from other staff they make up their own exchange rates, so learn from my mistake and take a packed lunch!!
Advice: I loved Kusadasi and I will def go back!! learn please and thank you in turkish!!
Activities: Murphys Irish bar for great steak, pizza, chicken and curry etc.... all really nice!!!

Submitted By: AlanKeI've been to Kusadasi many times but this was my first all inclusive.
Easy walking to Kusadasi centre and just a few minutes from a great beach. The rooms may be a bit on the small side and look basic but they're very well equipped, immaculately clean and comfortable.
Nearly all staff speak English, even the cleaners and gardeners, the bar and restaurant staff are all fluent.
Food is varied, tasty, plentiful and well presented, though some dishes look strange to UK eyes - give themn a try. Snacks ,including ice cream piza, chips and burgersare all free. drinks are very good, though I prefer Efes to the beer provided free.
All staff are very friendly and helpful.
Facilities are excellent and well maintained.
Sitting around the pool can be noisy at times but not all the time and all noise stops at midnight.
Entertainment is mainly for kids though for adults there's keep fit, darts, quizzes, bingo and dancing.
All in all fantastic value, only about £5 more than flight only, though do try other bars and restaurants
Advice: cosmopolitan, something for everyone- as quiet or as brash and boisterous as you want
Activities: Ephesus, Saray Restaurant, Ada Restaurant Paradise Bar, Sergents R

Submitted By: summer1Well we asked for a family room only to be given a twin room with 2 extra camp beds added, not enough room to swing a cat, there was enough of them there, cats that is!
4 of us, 2 kids and 2 adults side by side sleeping, balcony with air con blowing hot air on to us, something you don’t need in very hot weather, so when we sat on the balcony we had to turn the air con off to make our seating comfortable.
Footpaths uneven to walk without tripping up, no lighting of the walkways, not suitable if have walking difficulties as we found out. Stench from the sewers were unbearable in such heat, no tea and coffee facilities in accommodation.
Mini bar consisting of a small bottle of water on arrival each in which we had to refill daily, what more can I say allot of money spent on rubbish, would of had a better time at Butlins!

Submitted By: Miss S WellsAfter our 11 hour journey to get to Kusadasi we arrived at the hotel at 5.
The reception staff were great and helped us up the many many stairs with our bags. Then we headed straight to the fantastic pool.
The slide was brilliant! It was nonstop fun for 2 hours then we went and got showered.
The water from the tap and shower were salty, therefore brushing your teeth was a horrible event.
Dinner was cold and not very varied. I didn’t eat breakfast as all they had was eggs and I’m not a great fan.
The beach that was 2 mins walk away was really good and had lots of water activities.
Also the wee shop next to the hotel was really good and sold all sorts of stuff....including cheap vodka (score!). The bar just up the road from the hotel was also nice.
The hotel was basic but staff were lovely and the pool was great.

Submitted By: Mrs S SneddonAfter being told on our transfer bus from airport we were being upgraded because our original hotel was closed for refurb (should have been Pigale panorama sunset). On arrival at Pigale beach I was in tears.
It was obviously a down grade and could only be classed as 3* due to the swimming pool. The grounds were truly dismal, very unkempt; the paths were a walking hazard all uneven.
The pathways outside the apartments were absolutely filthy, and the gardens were overgrown with weeds.
The worst was still to come though when we were allocated our room. They were very basic, little chef has better accommodation!
We arrived just in time for breakfast which was eggs, eggs and more eggs. The only decent food was the crusty bread.
Lunch and evening meals were no better, the hot food was cold (work that one out). For 2wks it was mainly chicken, the odd beef or lamb dish if you were really lucky, but still cold!
On our first night we had to complain that they hadn't supplied the full menu of free drinks that should have been available, only watered down beer.
Second night better but all drinks were watered down except the rakki. Only one of the many supposed bars was open that was outside by the pool.
The animation team that were there as our entertainment, was absolutely dire and nobody bothered to stay up to watch them. They were basically for entertaining the children, whom were in bed by the time the animation evenings got started.
There are so many down points to this hotel and I’m getting to tired and bored to list them all, which basically sums up my holiday.
All I have left to say is stay clear of the Pigale beach hotel.

Submitted By: Miss E PaveI booked a 4* hotel in the middle of Kusadasi, and on our way to the hotel our rep told us the hotel was closed and that we had been upgraded to Pigale Beach Resort which is a 2* pink ranch in the middle of nowhere.
We ended up spending a lot on taxi to go to the centre of town and hopefully this is something we will get back as I never stayed in such a repulsive hotel!
The staff is all but helpful and kept on looking down at us like we weren't good enough for the hotel (trust me everyone is good enough for this place) and sometime refused to serve us (great when you're on all inclusive!).
The food was quite tasty but it was the same every day, twice a day and it became sickening after 2 days.
The hotel is situated near a motorway and a petrol station (classy!) and it is really noisy. It is also situated on the top of a hill and none of the staff seemed to be able to help us getting our suitcases up the 50 stairs going up to our room, but they were at the bottom of the stairs watching us struggling to do so instead.
This is the worse place I ever went to. When you only have 20 days holiday a year is it a real shame to waste 5 of them at Pigale Beach Resort.

Submitted By: Vittoria HaggisThe Panorama beach is a 10 minute bus ride from town and in middle of nowhere, opposite a petrol station and that’s it! grim!
Was told, don’t worry, going to a better hotel, an upgrade of what we should have.
Never ever go to this hotel!
This hotel is barely a 3 star; filthy dirty neglected grounds; cold food and not a lot of choice. If you like peppers you'll love it here!
The bathroom was vile, dim lighting, not till we took pictures (for complaint) did we realise how filthy the bath was, urgh!!
Never once did we get a hot meal, bain maries weren’t lit so do the math!
Restaurant next door was our refuge.
Only one bar open, the pool bar, so couldn’t sit outside at night at bar cos too cold so had to sit in reception to drink; bar there not open and management refused to open it so had to schlep round to pool bar each time we wanted a drink.
Endless list of complaints; don’t want to bore you, just never ever go to this hotel.
Only gave a score of 1 cos can’t put zero!

Submitted By: Miss Erin KelbieMe and my family went to the Pigale hotel for a week and we all loved it, it was great. We just all wish we booked it for 2 weeks! The staff were really good with the kids and were helpful. We had such a good time there.
Most of the time we stayed by the pool and got a tan and drank at the bar it was so good and met new people. At nights was the best the karaoke, that was well good I never did but it was good hearing others singing. There’s also bar street that’s hot.
And the bar men they were so nice and speak really good English one of them made me a rose out of a napkin and I thought it was really nice I cant remember how to spell his name. I met lots of new people and still stay in contact with them I had such a good time with them and we will be coming back to Pigale hotel.
Most of the people at the hotel were German and Turkish and Irish and all others but they were so, so nice and tried to get along with you and tried to speak in English for you to understand.
So people if you have kids and are looking for a holiday, that’s the place to go there so great with kids!
I hate going on holiday and things like that. I hate flying but in the end it was worth it.
" Hotel / Holiday review
Not really sure where to start – I guess a bit about us, We are a young, easy going, not picky, couple. Unlike many people we don’t spend £300 on 2 weeks all inclusive and expect it to be 5 star quality.
Last year we stayed in the Marbel Hotel in Kusadasi – you can read our review of that on here.
This year it was Pigale Beach Resort.
The hotel (well complex / hotel) is situated on Pigale Beach (well 2 min walk away), the hotel campus is really green, and the contrast between the terracotta of the hotel buildings is gorgeous.
FIRST THING: If you have any kind of disability, walking problem, small children or any difficulty with steps or hills – this hotel is not for you. It is built on a hill – there is no main hotel to speak of rather a collection of small chalets all of which have steps up to them.
SEWAGE: The place constantly stinks of sewage, they have some serious problems with this – it is worse at some times than others but it’s still pretty gross. Especially in the heat.
BEDS: Very Hard - Very uncomfortable, I like a hard bed but I didn’t have one good nights sleep - also the sound from the Animation (Often continuing until around midnight) travels very far - we were as far away from the pool as we could get and it kept us awake at times!
MUSIC: Not as bad as some places but still irritating at times - constantly on around the pool!
The hotel is clearly based around its superior pool area, it boasts one of the biggest pools I have seen out of the hotels in Kusadasi, and it is half Olympic size and has a slide.
It was great fun, see how many people you can fit down it at once, try and go down on your head etc etc etc – it doesn’t operate all of the time – it is on for about 4 hours of the day.
Plenty of sunbeds don’t think we ever had a problem getting one – Germans still happily put their towels out at 6am – this didn’t matter as there were plenty to go around. Have separate sunbathing areas aswell
Now there are 2 reasons you come on an all inclusive holiday:
Food & Drink.
I am not picky in the slightest – ill eat anything, I read on so many reviews that the hotel “only caters for Germans”, I have always ridiculed this thinking that people were just too narrow minded to enjoy Turkish food.
HOWEVER – I have to say that this hotel catered mainly for Germans. The food was bland and boring, it was generic rubbish that had no taste. It’s a shame! Plus the portions they serve you are stupidly small - and although you can go up for more you will be grunted at and generally looked down upon by the miserable chef for doing so and given even smaller portions next time. There was little to no Turkish food served at the hotel - what’s the point in going to a country to sample the food if they serve generic rubbish? Kids would have some serious problems with the food there!
Breakfast – If you like Eggs your fine – but even after 2 weeks fried eggs gets a bit boring, there are boiled eggs (3 and 5 mins (or uncooked and hard boiled)), plenty of Ham and salami kind of stuff and lots of nice crusty bread and salad bits
Lunch – Some kind of rice / pasta / rice looking pasta, Chicken in a orange tasteless sauce, beef in a brown tasteless sauce, occasionally some kind of lamb / aubergine dish (not too bad) and sometime spaghetti with a tomato (just tomato) sauce.
Plenty of salad and Olives and then the normal Turkish Sweet puddings and of course crusty bread and soup (again tasteless).
Tea / Dinner – As above pretty much – whatever was left over from lunch is (not so) cunningly rearranged into something with new and different coloured tasteless sauces with a few extra veg chucked in.
Occasionally they will serve kofte or chicken kebap meat – so make the most of it!
Again all the usual salad / veg!
I did notice that the sauerkraut (yep – see!) never seemed to disappear – but it did seem to reappear mixed with other veg throughout the week – I stopped eating it after the second day for fear of death.
I developed a bad stomach on the third day, I would recommend that if you are prone to a bad stomach hit the Chemist (Eczane) and get some tablets – they all speak English. I can eat anything in England, without getting ill, I am not going to blame the Hotel Specifically because it could have been anything.
The snack bar is okay, they do Beef/Ham/Red Meat type burgers with some good salad for it.
They do cheese sandwiches, pizza and chips, don’t ask for a Cheese burger because the miserable arse of a chef will tell you to do one – ask for a cheese sandwich and a burger and silently stick 2 fingers up at him when he clocks what you’re up to and can’t do anything about it.
As part of the all inclusive – once a week you can book a meal in Meze bar next door – we had the fish and the Mexican – both of which were very nice – the Mexican was a steak covered in a nice sauce and the fish was … well … fish (Turkish fish I was told).
THE WORST THINGS ABOUT THIS HOTEL:
The drinks are watered down – I’m not talking slightly watered down it’s at least 50/50.
The beer is VERY gassy – I like my beer but I could manage about 3 pints before it bloated me so much I wanted to die.
Whisky, Vodka, Gin, Brandy – all 50/50 spirit / water – the managers / bar mans excuse – “Its not good quality” – I don’t care whether its strips the skin of the back of my throat – I still want to be able to get drunk (believe me – it is impossible to get drunk on the drinks at the bar!)
Now this isn’t opinion – we made friends with one of the barmen, I asked him to bring an unopened bottle from the back (you will notice that all of them on the counter (even full ones) have been opened, he did it – poured a drink from each and let me taste – very obvious which one wasn’t watered down – needless to say he served us “the good stuff” for the rest of the holiday (God Bless you Mare (sp?))
The only thing that wasn’t watered down (of course) was the Raki – however I was assured that the stuff was of utterly crap quality. Try Raki Sprite, its palatable and will get you on your way to being drunk.
The wines are like paint stripper, however after your mouth goes numb its fine and also gets you drunken 
OTHER STUFF:
The Animation at the hotel is fantastic – as rubbish as it might be (quality wise) there was still something happening each and every day / night, volleyball, water polo, basketball, karaoke, darts, bingo, Turkish nights, acoustic music, various other comedy stuff.
Ozzie and the other guys did a really good job at it – and although it was awful it fulfilled its purpose and the kids loved it.
The Slide is pretty good – no rules on it – the adults had more fun than the kids – it was good to see the grannies have a good go aswell 
Dolmus stops right outside – 1 Dolmus to the Centrum – 2 to ladies beach.
Pigale beach is definitely one of the nicer beaches in Kusadasi – offers a lot of water sports and the snorkelling is really good around kustur Tropicana aswell.
Free Ice cream 3-4pm and 10-11pm
Don’t get a henna tattoo from the guys – they are crap!
THINGS YOU HAVE TO DO:
1)Hassle the manager (lanky guy) about the watered down drinks – he will feign innocence but at the end of the day its your money he is abusing.
2)Play Bingo – great fun!
3)See the Turkish night at the hotel
4)Book into Meze bar
5)Just visit Meze bar – really nice guys
6)Get a lilo and launch yourself down the slide
7)Get as many of your mates together and launch yourselves down the slide
8)Get some cheesy photos done by the photographer
9)Pick fresh pomegranates from the tree behind the photographer and eat them
10)Play scrabble!
11)Play volleyball – great way to meet people and a really good laugh
12)Go to the beach
13)Hire out a sea canoe!
14)Buy a bottle of spirits from the shop next door so you can get drunk!
I would highly recommend not coming to Pigale Beach, for the price of it there are plenty of other good hotels out there for better money.
We had a good time - but we ate and drank out a lot and subsequently spent a lot more time!

Hope this helps!
" I have only given this hotel a 1... "
Submitted By: Mrs D GregoryI agree with the previous unfortunate person to write a review - DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS HOTEL IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH, SAFETY OR SANITY!!! My family( myself, my husband his mother and our 4 young daughters) had the 'holiday from hell' at this place, and are still paying the price some 3 months later. We were all ill because of the disgusting kitchen conditions and filthy pool water, and my poor mother-in-law is still trying to recover from all the steps after being told that we would have a ground floor room due to her recent double hip replacements, which was in fact on the third floor!
The place was so diabolical we eventually moved to an alternative hotel - but had to pay an extra £781 for the privilege (which incidentally was supposed to be £725 ) on top of the original amount . My whole family was still being ill weeks after our return and we are currently attempting to re-coup some of our losses through the holiday travel watch company. I could write pages discrediting this hotel ( and indeed have sent 10 of them to Freedom Direct and Cosmos) but frankly am getting so depressed about the whole nightmare I can barely stand to talk or write about the stress caused any more.
The only reason I have logged a rating on this website is to attempt to stop any poor uniformed fool from going to such a disgusting dump under the assumption that their dream holiday awaits them !! If you too have suffered a similar fate at this hell hole PLEASE put in some kind of complaint in order to stop other poor unsuspecting holidaymakers from making the same mistake that we made.
" Do not go anywhere near this... "
Submitted By: Mr P MatheJust returned from a Week in the Pigale Hotel in Kusadasi. Having travelled across Europe I have to say this is possibly the worst value for money hotel I have ever visited.
The Whole holiday was a joke from start to finish, On the Beach holidays totally lied to us about his hotel. We were told it was a family hotel catering for English families. It is nothing of the sort. It is a German Hotel catering specifically for German couples.
All the entertainment was in German, the menu was almost entirely German and 95% of the guests were also German.
There was no children’s entertainment at all and children really were just an afterthought. The most child orientated point of the holiday was when the "animation team" (what a joke they were.) put a okikoki song on at about 10pm every night.
This hotel is built on a steep hill, and there are steps everywhere. We were informed that this hotel would be ideal for families with small children, but having carried our buggy up and down the 100+ steps to and from our room 3 or 4 times a day I can tell you that this is far from a family friendly hotel.
No sun beds ever available as they are always "reserved" at 6am in the morning meant we had to make do with a table at the bar....
A Swimming pool which was dirty, full of salt, so deep that my 6 year old couldn’t touch the bottom at all, in fact the shallowest point of the pool was still well over 5 ft deep.
A Children’s play park, which consisted of a patch of mud, with a broken swing, a plastic climbing frame, which collapsed when any children went near it. Bits of metal, plastic and wood sticking out of the ground and glass everywhere.
Food that was completely unacceptable. Left overs on dirty plates with flies everywhere. A total lack of choice and nothing was ever warm or even cooked properly. Both my children became ill as a result of the poorly cooked food and after 3 days of salad we had to resort to eating outside of the hotel.
The staff were rude, unhelpful, couldn’t speak English, inept and generally a waste of space. When we arrived at the hotel and were given our room key (at 1am in the morning) the porter just took us outside of reception, grunted and pointed up a flight of stairs. We then spent the next half an hour looking around the resort on our own in the dark for our room.
The noise from the hotel, the surrounding hotels, bars and main road are so great that we couldn’t actually put our children to sleep much before 11pm when it started to die down.
There is no beach. It is 5 minutes walk along a busy main road with no pavements passing a row of shops and bars, with constant hassle from over pushy bar and shop owners. We went twice and then gave up as it just wasn’t worth the hassle.
All in all this was a disaster, right up until our 6 1/2 hour delayed flight home, which left us sitting in the airport all night!!!
If you are mad enough to venture into the part of Kusadasi, which I strongly suggest you don’t, then please, DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL....however cheap your tour operator might offer it to you it is not worth it....
If this hotel was in any civilised European country it would have been closed down....

When we arrived we were greeted and given a snack (which was kind of nice), then the next day we awoke to nothingness, there were more staff than people staying at the hotel. Luckily for us we all make friends easy and if it wasn’t for Tracey and Richard, and Brummy Tracey and her girls we would have gone insane! Oh yeah not forgetting we all would have starved, if we didn’t like rice, pasta, soggy cake, and uncooked pizza, did I mention pasta, as it was there everyday!
I would never go back to this hotel, the only reason I give it a rating of 2 is cos the rooms were nice and some of the staff were friendly. Part of me wonders if this hotel is good in the height of season, but then again I don’t want to go back to find out.
Lastly the reason I haven’t mentioned anything else as there was nothing to do.
Our holiday became better when we asked to be moved to another hotel, even though we did have to walk as our oh so helpful rep forgot to pick us up in the coach, it was so funny walking down turkeys streets with all our luggage. Oh what fun!

The staff were friendly enough (in comparison to the hotel we moved to, they were very gruff, but not rude), and the food although basic was well cooked. However, there was very very little choice of food, hygiene was very much an after thought with flies EVERYWHERE in the restaurant and whilst I know this isnt directly the hotels fault, very rude guests pushing into queues everywhere really did little to lighten my mood.
The "all inclusive" aspect was very misleading. No ice cream at all at any time. The pancakes (such as they were, very salty) were available for around 10 minutes meaning a free for all to the snack bar, waiting 15 minutes in a very rude queue to get to the front and be told none are left. Burgers were a similar story and the pizzas were cooked 1 at a time, took 5 minutes and i'll leave you to figure out the amount of waiting around this involved in a hotel catering to over 500 guests. In fairness the burgers chips and pizzas were tasty....but as my wife and youngest son refused to eat anything from the restaurant it did mean i had to endure hours of queueing everyday to let them be able to eat ANYTHING at all.
The pool. OK, until I moved to the other hotel, I assumed that there was a reason in Turkey chlorine isnt used. Instead the pool was heavily dosed with salt. When you are in searing heat and getting sunburn anyway, then dunking yourself in brine is NOT good for your skin, let alone your stomach should you have the misfortune to swallow any of it. The slide was very good, but open for 3 one hour periods a day, and with no pool attendants, lifeguards etc, when a few teenagers get rough around the pool, you really fear for the safety of your kids. This isnt helped by the animation team egging on any rough behaviour, and in some cases being the instigators of it.
Entertainment is a very loose word for what was on offer. The evening shows were more waiting for the next sketch than actaul show. Entertainment at this hotel seems to consist of humiliating one person to make everyone else laugh. I was not the victim of any of this, but if I had been I can tell you punches would have been thrown. The daytime entertainment was slightly better, with a continual buzz around the pool and almost always something on offer.
The rooms are VERY basic, but the air conditioning does work. The mini bar consist of one bottle of water when you arrive, which is not replaced. The hotel is built into a hillside, so ladies DONT wear heels else you will fall over, and if you have any disability or children in pushchairs, be advised that there are LOADS of steps. This wasnt a problem for us, but I can see how it could be for others. There is also a very very noisy late night restaurant come club type thing over the road which goes on until 3am. My 4 year old could NOT sleep at all until this finished, and this was one of the main reasons for us insisting on moving hotels. After a massively delayed flight and all the other issues at this hotel, 3 hours sleep maximum a night really did push me over the edge.
The hotel staff were friendly and made a good show of English - much better than my Turkish, but considering nearly half the guests are English, not really enough to enable proper communication. I did not encounter any of the limits at the bar of 2 drinks per person, and the bar staff were actually very chatty and probably the best staff I encountered. The manager was very apologetic and easy to talk to, although he would not take any criticism insisting that during August his staff were too busy entertaining children to worry about cleanliness - we should visit in Spetmeber when there are less children. This to me, standing there with my two children. hmmm.
The bit which really tipped my wife over the edge was the poolside toilets. You cannot flush toilet paper (as in many south European locations), so used dirty toilet paper was thown in the bins. However when they over flowed, the floor was used and by 3pm, the entire ladies toilet floor was covered in smelly used toilet paper which you were supposed to walk over bare foot (being poolside) to use the toilet at all.
To summarise, DONT go here, for your money there are MANY better places around.
Advice: If you do the market (Wednesdays 8am - 8pm), be prepared to haggle a LOT, and haggle hard ;)
Activities: Dont miss Aqua Fantasyland - great value and a phenomenal day out for the whole family.
