Capsis Beach Resort Hotel

That is the WORST hotel I have ever been! Dirty and it isn't a 5 stars hotel .Maybe 3stars. In the swimming pool there isn't sweet water there is salt water. The swiming pool is awful and old . Everything is dirty including the bungallows and restaurants. Choose another hotel!!!!!!

This is not 5 star hotel. The fact that it has a swiming pool does not make you a 5 star hotel. More over it seems as the capsis beach hotel is not !!! part of sofitel only the capsis palace hense the hotel service , food quality and rooms are terrible !!! Do not go there !!! its better to go anywhere else but to this hotel ! Sorry but this is the first time ever I got this experience and I travel a lot.

I was a bit concerned before we went to Capsis Beach when I had read all these reviews with sometimes quite hard criticism. But I was positively surprised! OK, the bungalow rooms could have been a bit better but they weren´t that bad that I should have suffered from it. They were just..built in a typical Greek way if you know what I mean :) I loved the gardens, the zoo, the private beach and the pools! We have just returned from a week in a "bungalow" in the grounds of this hotel. The hotel may well be 5-star and the gardens are superb but the accommodation in the blocks of rooms leaves much to be desired and should not be described as 5-star. We were on the first floor of the block and had opted to pay for a sea view - we looked directly at a large palm tree with the sea just about visible between the leaves. Arrived at the Capsis mid October,The reception area magnificent, staff very friendly and helpfull.The grounds of the hotel very well kept abundance of flowers and greenery and the swans ducks cockerals all roam free around the grounds and are obviously very well looked after and loved.We stopped in a bungalow very clean but basic, but then this is Greece.Whilst the hotel is brochured at 5* Delux the bungalows were not in this class,but as the hotel caters for all from families on an all inclusive holiday to buisness people on... more

overall the hotel was better than we had expected. The architecture was marvellous, the main buildings were relatevely small and the bungalows were built in the form of a village with beautiful pathways. The gardens were very well taking care of.there were lakes,waterfalls all around.the zoo was very large but everywhere near was very smelly with a lot of flies. On arrival at the Capsis (4:30am) I was taken aback by the sheer magnificance of the Reception area, the warm and friendly greeting and how helpful the staff were. Later in the day when I could see better I was not at all disappointed the whole complex is absolutely beautiful with an array of plants and flowers. this hotel was not worth the money we paid- I thought we were staying in a 5star hotel but the service in the 'restaurant ' was below standard. We UNFORTUNATELY upgraded to half board and it was not worth the extra we had to pay. The service was appaling (had to lay our own table one morning at breakfast) . The food was one star if that. No one was interested in serving us and it was the same thing everyday with one or two 'themed' dishes. when picking a hotel and location to take the retired in-laws who have not holidayed for over twenty years takes some time and reading one hell of alot of trip advisor reviews! we were amazed by the sheer beauty of the capsis beach. The grounds even for a non-florabunda lover are spectacular with views to the blue seas from all angles, especially our sunny balconies. The rooms are cool and clean. Yes it is expensive for drinks etc, but you are in the hub of a typically greek fishing village and its tavernas...!

I am sorry to say that after my 2-year first visit, nothing has changed but the prices! The rooms are poorly decorated (I'd dare to say that they are still 70s style), the service is bad, the amenities are poor. Tha only + for this hotel are certainly its great location and its gardens & zoo! Although, they should have made better arrangements for people to walk though the zoo corridors (and animals should be cleaner!) The best thing about this location is the CALDERA Restaurant nearby the hotel. Don't miss it whatever you do:... more
