Usually stay at the fortin, but decided for a change last October, Hotel clean, room good size we had a triple, Balcony overlooked nothing but an alleyway, couldnt really sit out as it was small, staff were very friendly but not much conversation, food was priced ok although a bottle of efes was expensive, last but not least the pool, pictures very misleading it is on the roof and very very small, it is tin, cold and although clean it smells horrible, that was the only downfall really, but wont go again but we did try but once ur happy with an hotel just stay there thats why its the fortin for us, all the way.

I stayed in this hotel for 7 nights with my boyfriend. overall we were not happy with the accommodation. It was basic but clean. The pictures are misleading as it does not show the hotel right next to this one. Also the local beach is hardly a beach, very small and rocky. The breakfast was very simple with bread eggs and tomatoes but this is the Turkish tradition.
We were invited to the Turkish night with BBQ and 10% off alcohol for 15TRY each but before the night this was changed to 30TRY each so we decided not to go till after. When we went to pay bill last day the manager tried to charge us 20TRY each for coming down for drinks which we paid for anyway. We refused to pay the 20TRY each.
However all the rest of our holiday was good and we enjoyed it very much. But next time we will be staying somewhere else.
- Advice: Not the hotel but the country definetly

The hotel and rooms are basic and clean.
The staff are very keen to help you and seem to be genuinely smiling all the time.
The location could not be better for the town, and harbour with it’s daily cruise ships arriving.
The views are not fantastic, but, hey…what you pay is what you get. Just the place if you want to have a bed and breakfast holiday.
Breakfast is a typical Turkish thing… Eggs, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, bread and olives. It can really satisfy you, but you can always order a full English if you want to, at a slight cost.
Safety boxes were £7 per week and air conditioning was £20 per week, both recommended.
Ladies beach is a 2 Lira ride away.
Kusadasi is not for everyone.
A lot of bars claim to be Irish owned but are not.
Bar Street with it’s night life only really gets started at about midnight. So try the old town bars first.
The Yucca is very expensive for food, but it is well prepared and served, but again there are lots of other restaurants around.
Street vendors try to get you in their shops and you will also be plagued by perfume sellers along the streets….It may be just water they sell…You just don’t know.
On your way back to the airport at Izmer, buy your drinks and food as the cost inside is really exorbitant!!!!!

We have been staying in the resort of Kusadasi for over ten years and we found this hotel excellent!. After reading some reviews we were expecting an 18 - 30's holiday, we were nicely suprised to see a range of different ages and everyone got on fantastic. The hotel is so clean! I have never stayed anywhere before where my room is cleaned daily including fresh towels and bedding. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you. We even had one evening when the rain poured down and everyone had to stay in, but the Manager and his staff put on a karaoke night within minutes of notice and it was the best night of the holiday. Only returned on Thursday and we have already re-booked for next year!!!! Reason for 9 out of 10 is due to the fact the pillows are a little on the hard side everything else fantastic.

me and a friend spent one week at the istankoy, i can see there is alot of mixed reviews.
as for location to the town beach and getting around we found it a perfect location.
breakfast is limited but your in turkey and its what they tend to eat but you do have some good places around if you want your english food.
we found our room clean and of ample size for 2 view from the small balcony wasnt much but we never intended to stay in.
the cook walked out so we was aloud to bring food in to the hotel, as for there food prices they are on the high side otherwise.
HOWEVER: WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING WE HAD AN IPOD STOLEN FROM A DRAW IN THE ROOM AND ONE MEMBER OF STAFF THOUGHT IT SO FUNNY AND MADE BAD JOKES ABOUT IT FOR A NUMBER OF DAYS, SO A PORTION OF THE HOLIDAY WAS SPENT WITH THE POLICE AND THE UNHELPFUL THOMAS COOK STAFF ON THE PHONE.
THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING

I spent a week with a friend of mine at this hotel. The staff were incredibly hyperactive and friendly, helping us out with any queries that we had.
While a lot of people have made negative comments about the breakfasts, and yes it was very basic, but it was light enough that we didn't feel weighed down in the heat.
The Istankoy was very close to the shops and restaurants, which was great. As two young blondes, we were constantly harrassed by the local shop owners, trying to drag us in to their markets, and their compliments, whilst very welcome, started to get a little grating after a while!
As far as restaurants around the local area go, we really enjoyed the Green Garden. Fantastic food and friendly people. We liked it so much, we went twice! Also, if you turn right and walk for about 10 minutes along the sea front, you can find some lovely little restaurants there. We only ate Turkish when we were there, but everywhere you go, they have a range of the usual British, chinese, mexican, curries etc etc. There's a restaurant called Planet Yukka or something which is very much like Planet Hollywood. It is right in the middle and really busy. We were very disappointed with the service, and they charge you for things that you get for free at pretty much every other restaurant!
Back to the hotel, the rooms were small and very basic. The bathroom did flood somewhat after two showers! We overlooked the washing lines and had no view at all. This wasn't such a bad thing, as the room didn't get too hot at any time! We were on the first floor and there was a lot of noise from the bar, and from people going past in flip flops!
The pool is small, but nice when you need to cool down. The terrace does keep the sun well, but there are limited beds. We tended to walk to Ladies Beach, about 45 minutes from the hotel, but there are buses and taxis that go there frequently. It gets busy so head out early but it is fairly clean, reasonably priced, and a nice sand beach.
I really enjoyed my time in Kusadasi and would definitely go back to the Istankoy. It is no frills, but it doesn't pretend to be fancy! All the staff were really friendly and we could have a good laugh with them.

We arrived on time and after waiting around 5 mins we were given directions to our chalet, the key and linen.
We found the place no problem and pleasently surprised with the place, especially because it had 2 storeys so it had a homely feel to it.
The living room/dining area were very spacious and clean, the kitchen was a bit on the small side and having the toilet/bathroom next door wasn't ideal, the cultery could have been cleaner too.
Having a walk around the site we found the "everydays" store surprisingly reasonably priced and well stocked and the staff friendly.
We only ventured into Neptunes Palace once to have a look around 1 evening, the kids all seemed to be enjoying the entertainment, but we stuggled to find a place to sit, the drinks were quite expensive, another annoying aspect was that the entertainment was upstairs.
Downstairs were the arcades which seemed to be overun with teenagers and most of the arcade games were expensive.
We had 1 meal from the fish and chip shop, the staff there were swearing/ singing as they cooked the fish, when we got back to eat it it the fish was undercooked so my wife ended up throwing it away.
Overall I would recommend Caister despite my moaning as it was a very pleasant place to stay, friendly staff and the entertainment was fab! We shall be booking again later this year!

I recommend this hotel to anybody; absolutely fab. I have just returned on Tuesday and have booked to go back on Friday. It has got an excellent location for Bar Street and the shops. The staff here are very entertaining they sing and dance all day; they are amazing and funny. They speak very good english so anything you want you can ask it is no problem. The hotel is cleaned everyday and so is the pool!
Turkish night is great they put on break dancers and belly dancers and you have a barbeque (in which the food is out of this world).
Anybody reading this, just book it and go I guarantee you will not regret it.

I don't know how anyone could ever complain about this hotel! It had everything you could possibly need and more.
The rooms were cleaned every day, the breakfast was lovely, and the staff were really friendly and always made you feel welcome and make you laugh.
The rooms were big and had amazing views of the sea and the mountains.
I would recommend this hotel to people who like amazing views, great people; friendly staff great for relaxing on the roof and a pool to dip into if you need a cool down.

Hotel Istankoy was very disappointing. My partner and I were there for 2 weeks, the breakfast was a Turkish one which consists of Bread, Olives, Cheese and ham every morning.
The pool was really nice and clean and the hotel was spotlessly clean, we did have to sneak bottles of water and food is as its very expensive and not allowed in the hotel, manger will take the bag off you and throw it away.
We did lots of trips which were amazing, Turkish bath, Boat Trip, Aqua Park and Diving, we tried to stay away from the Hotel as much as possible only using it for sleeping. The Air Conditioning was £20 a week and the safe-hire was £10 a week, there is a small book library available which was very handy.
We would go back to Turkey again but defiantly not in the Istankoy Hotel unless they changed the Staff, Maids and Manger. Every room in different in the hotel some very small like ours and some massive, room 505 is massive so if you can ask for that or either one of the two roof terraces.

we have been going to Kusadasi for the last 20 odd years, staying in all types of places, the Istankoy comes top. The staff are brill the hotel is basic but spotless for a 2 star grading, and 24/7 hot water. The manager(Febzi and his dog bambino) are both nuts and up for a laugh anytime of the day. We will be booking for 3 weeks next may god willing. Definately worth a try.
