have spent many years holidaying here but never again .We used to have wonderful entertainment good food helpful staff .Always came away having booked for the next holiday !! Now everything has changed .Holidays we booked have been cancelled !!can,t afford to pay the artists !!! food is poor very little choice obviously being done on the cheap .Staff morale poor they obviously are not happy with the situation especially those who have seen it in the good days. They have one of the best dance floors in the country but none of the big bands come now,Oh what a terrible shame to see such a wonderful holiday resort go down like this.Wake up Britannia hotels before it is too late!!!!!
- Advice: listen to what people are saying.

Myself, my partner and 2 children (aged 16 months and 3) have just returned from Pontins at Pakefield. Our chalet was actually two chalets with an interconnecting door. It was clean and well maintained, the beds were comfy and the interconnecting door meant we could close it and still watch TV after the kids had gone to bed. The kids entertainment was great, the outdoor adventure playground was very much enjoyed and the indoor ball pit, activity room and toddler area catered for all ages. There were activities on for adults and older children during the day too including pool, snooker, darts and bowls competitions. Not to mention the tongue in cheek quizes and dog racing!! Evening cabaret and entertainment was great. Bar was a bit expensive though. Swimming was fun - some people might be a bit put off by communal changing rooms but didnt bother us. Beach was a couple of minutes away on foot - beach mainly pebbles but some sandy areas too. Food - what can I say about the food??? Lots of it, 3-4 main meal choices, 2-3 dessert choices, always hot and in plentiful supply (apart from the scrummy chocolate cake). Breakfast was the highlight of my day ..... fruit, yogurts, toast, cereals, fruit juice, bacon, sausage, egg, hashbrowns, tomatoes, beans, and fried bread to choose from .... YUM!! All food was served hot and there was very little queuing. All in all a fab, good value for money, family holiday!

having read the reviews only a couple of days before going i feared the worst however having just spent 3 nights at pakefield it wasn't that bad, yes the food isn't great but it's edible, there was no damp or bad smell in our room (2 bed classic) the bath is small but we bathed 2 young children together without any problms and the shower was lovely and warm with enough power. Only having 2 plug sockets would be a problem but we took an extension after reading about this before hand and also some large thick towels to block some of the sunlight out. All in all we had a good time and the 2 kids enjoyed the park and the indoor platy centre and the beach,

I stayed at Pontins Pakefield for a week from April 15th to the 22nd with my wife and two children. We had a fantastic holiday, and found all of the staff friendly and eager to help. I have read a lot of reviews complaining about the food, but i honestly couldnt fault it, every day we had a choice of 4 different main meals, as well as a salad bar and omellette/jacket potatoe bar. There were about 4 different desserts and for breakfast you could have a full english, as well as cereals, porridge, fruit or kippers. Ok the food is cafe standard, but what do people expect for the price! As a family we all enjoyed our time at Pakefield and would recommend it to anyway, the only advice we would give is:
1. Take your own pillows (supplied ones are poor)
2. If possible book Club rather than Classic accomodation as Classic can be a bit gloomy.
3.Take a plug doubler/extension lead (only two sockets in room)
4.Consider hiring a fridge (we did at a cost of £30.00 for the week)
5. Take own bedding for cot (if you need one lol!)

I don't normally complain about anything, but this was the holiday from hell.My wife and i stayed from the 14th / 18th march 2011. The food was terrible and cold, the beds were horrible "i didn't sleep for four days. The bath was a childs bath. The redeeming factors were that there was plenty of hot water and the cabaret was really good in the evenings.

Just read a review of someone who went to Pontins Pakefield this year, this must have been her first Christmas there as it was very different not the same. My self and my family 15-20 of us in all have been going to pontins in Pakefield every year for the past 30 years since the news that they have gone into liquidation they have really gone down hill unless some thing is done i would not recomment it. Very little entertainment, no Christmas show, no party dances with Graham, food limited this year staff had no time for anyone really spoilt our christmas holiday. you will not find me going there again and this is from someone who was a regular with pontins, pakefield
- Advice: Not after last Christmas

We go to Pontin's every year for a Christmas break and were not disappoined this year. The weather was awful so we went to more of the daytime entertainment than previous times. It was all excellent and we particularly enjoyed the dancing. The bluecoats were very friendly and the shows they put on were very good. The accommodation was clean and the food was good and plentiful. We will be very disappointed if we can't go this year.
- Advice: Good value for money.

we been going to pontins in pakefield every year in september ,they have a fishing week .there a group of us go each year some with children like myself ,for the money ,they still have childrens activities and all the other things for the older kids ,theres 6 in my family and they do very good discounts and very affordable prices ,when i priced up butlins its over the £1000 pound mark then you get ripped of all the time your there.pontins for 6 of us is half that price and then they give you pontins pounds to spend on your drinks or any other items ,and thats breakfast and dinner all in,im not saying its all perfect but for the money, we make do and our family have a nice break,BY THE WAY ANYONE LIKE FISHING PLS LOOK UP PONTINS AT PAKEFIELD FISHING WEEK IN SEPTEMBER ,1ST 2ND,3RD PRIZES AND OVERALL PRIZES FOR THE WEEK CHEERS

on arrival reception looked shabby but the staff were welcoming we made our way to our accommodation we found this to be a little grubby and a damp smell in bedroom .entertainment was ok my 11 year old enjoyed the nights and swimming pool was reasonable. i was disapointed with the food most nights didnt have much variaty they never had both gravy and custard it seemed to be one or the other on different nights, every time we had heavy rain the dinner hall roof flooded through so much that on one occasion dinner had to be delayed. I was ill the first night couldnt tell you if it had anything to do whith pontins though. Saying all this i did think the staff dealt whith the situations that arose in the best possible way.One thing i thought was a good idea was that they run daytrips from pontins which we enjoyed. All in all i wouldnt come here again but my 11 year old daughter would love to come back.

Just returned to London after spending one week at Pakefield Pontins. Im a single Parent with four children 14, 9, 6, 4 and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The food was good and the apartment/chalet was clean and comfortable. The Bluecoats were great fun and laid on some good shows for the kids encluding fun packed activities throughout the day and evenings.
We all enjoyed ourselves so much and want to return next year. If you have a small or large family and want to get away from cooking and expensive restuarants I would recommend Pontins because you will save money whilst enjoying yourselves.
There are some great places to visit just a short drive away such as Great Yarmouth, Pleasure Hills with rollercoasters. The list is endless.
