This was a half term break for me and my twin boys aged 12. Having just started secondary school and having had quite a turbulent time. I was so dissapointed by the whole get up of pontins. The rooms were dirty, we had to leave our socks on as the carpet was rotten. The beds are in desperate need of changing as the springs were coming through the mattress. Had i known before, i would have taken my own bedding too. Actually had i known before, i would'nt have gome at all and to be fair we WILL NOT be gong back.It was so boring, much like a friendly prison, if there is such a thing. We left the prison site, sorry, 'holiday' site a day early and had a wonderful trip home.

Went on Friday 31st oct
Second time we've been with our 2 young kids and both of them love it. so that is all that matters. On the whole it was ok/good, service from reception was excellent after a couple of hitches with our booking, we werent given vouchers with our welcome pack, but when we went back we were given them no questions asked with an apology. With the food its what you pay for is what you get and we had some lovely meals, the omlettes were excellent, as was some of the mains like chicken curry and chicken kievs. Breakfasts were okay nothing more, drink choices for dinner was poor tea or coffee when the drinks bar shuts an hour before end of service. Some of the people serving food could have been happier but some were nice.
Accomodation, relatively clean, kids slept every night and all night so cant complain there, was missing our cot we ordered when we arrived in our chalet and when I went to ask it was dealt with immediately (I heard it go out on the staff CB's when I was walking past another member of staff, and was very pleased when I arrived back to find it there before me, EXCELLENT complaint handling by the staff. The main thing that matters was the chalet kept my family happy and safe and again thats the main thing (bed was lousy)
regarding the complaints regarding the planes, dont moan. I bet the majority of you have used planes and that you wouldnt be moaning if it was you flying over someone else's chalet in a Jet on the way to your holiday also you must know they have to land? We enjoyed listening to them. More to the point do your research on your holiday before you book. If you google earth Blackpool pontins, you'll see a runway at the edge of the park (so you do the maths).
Park itself, bit run down, except the dune conference center but needs a lot of investment soon should the park continue being in business. Kids loved the playground outside the QV (except glasses and bottles had been discarded in the protective bark around the frame, this is obviously stupid incapable patrons, like the ones who vandalise the camp)
Amusement arcade could have done with a couple more 2p machines in, my son (only 3) likes putting money in machines and I aint trusting him with 10p's yet!!
An excellent member of staff in there, kept fixing the pacman machine in there each time it broke down (every 30 seconds) without complaining once, so on the whole excellent staff.
My biggest problem with the park is:
The price of the beer for the choice and quality you recieve.
Fosters £2.80 (kronenbourg the other option) Taste awful. Flat
J Smiths £2.60 Tasted of nothing
Strongbow and guiness were ok at best
Glasses streaked with lipstick marks on them. If I was pontins i'd look for a new drink supplier for a better choice of drinks and clean beer lines at least once a week and purchase some quash (lipstick remover for glass rims and some Renovate solution.
So on the whole, looks negative but for my family and I we've had 2 nice weekend breaks there, the kids love it, the staff are friendly and helpful, my little boy was crying when we left, that is the biggest sign of a good time anyone could recieve.
Booking next week for in the new year sometime.

We arrived for halloween expecting a great value holiday. What we got was totally different experience to say the least, before we got to the chalet a jet whizzed past 50 ft above our heads. Our friends chalet / sh** hole had medication lying on the floor and dirty towels.
The reason for this when we asked the staff was they had 1600 fully paid and under informed guests and were running late, we could have checked in at 4pm but did not arrive until 6.20pm.
If you take your car you will have to leave it off site and park some distance from your chalet or risk it being clamped without being informed upon arrival. Please belive everything you read in these reviews anything above a 1 is by a PONTINS employee.
Please save your money because this is a dirty, stinking sh** hole of a holiday park should be or already has started to be used as a landfill.

I went to pontins july last year and I am going again this weekend. I thought i would add my reveiw because there was soo many bad ones....
Basically yes, it looks like a prison camp and the facilities are outdated, but what on earth do you expect??
I paid 3.5k for a holiday in the Maldives and expected a good holiday, I paid 60 pound for Pontins and expected exactly what i got!
I dont expect anyone to have paid more than 100 quid each to stay so what are you winging about?
Its somewhere to bed down for the night and you can go into Blackpool all day everyday, ive stayed in a lot worse hotels in Blackpool for more money.
As with every holiday you make the most of what you have got so ignore these people who pay pennies for a break and expect the ritz. Its cheap and cheerful and if your with good family and friends it really doesnt matter.

I read some awful reviews of this place on this site, all i can say is these people that have written them must have stayed at a completly different site. I found the room immaculate, the staff extremly friendly, the food wonderful with lots of choice and more than enough to keep my three kids occupied day and night.
So please, don't let the bad reviews put you off comming to this place, i for one will be booking again.

Pontins in Blackpool was grim, they chalet was tiny and stunk, the food inedible, and the entertainment non existent, on the pontins entertainment channel 6 every hour said 'something else', what they didnt tell you was the something else entertainment was nothing, we seen 1 blue coat who was miserable, I had to take my children into Blackpool just to get away from Pontins adding extra expense and my children aged 6 and 10 asked if we could go home a day early. Id recommend Butlins of Haven if you want a family holiday with entertainment, please dont waste your money its the worst holiday Ive ever been on and I have been on a few horrors. Disgusting, dirty, miserable, boring and grim is how Id describe it overall.

Oh My God!!!!!!! Please please do not pay any attention to the bull[-] that people who have given this hellhole more than one out of ten. We only gave one as there is no facility to give minus 100 which would still be very generous. We have just returned home after 3 nights of living in total squalor with our 15 month old twin girls. The accomodation would not be out of place in Basra and the food is absolutely disgusting, even our babies turned their noses at it. Filthy filthy filthy is the best way of describing this place and the entertainment is none existent, and no we dont expect much to do for children of 15 months however we did notice 3 swings in the whole park and disgraceful tennis courts. Honestly please beleive us the people who gave this place any kind of decent review either must work for pontins or be mentally challenged which is a shame. We have as yet had no refund but we will!!!!!
We had to venture into Blackpool every day and night just to get a break from the smell and tedious of this resort. I would not wish this place on my worst enemy but however if you are a complete scruff who enjoys smelly disgusting rooms and want to make yourself obese on the slop they call food then get yourself along and fill yr boots but if you have any standards in life then do not even contemplate going anywhere near this cesspit. Oh and thanks for the fresh water with a hint of orange on a morning and charging us nearly 4 pound for 2 tiny cokes at tea time to help wash down the swill you served us xxxxxxx

The appartment stank of long term, stale body odour with a hint of urine. The bedding, even though changed had marks that hadn't come out in the wash. The carpet was stained and had cigarette burns. The bathroom...ugh.. worn, stained bath, dubious stains in the toilet bowl, black mold behind the taps and on the tiles and cigarette burns on the side of the bath. Altogether a Hellhole!! If this was one of HM's prisons there would have been a revolt... by the prisoners... and a government enquiry! We had a full refund, but our weekend was ruined as it was "lighting up" night and there wasn't anywhere with a family room vacant so me, my husband, daughter, son and 3 grandchidren had to return home (another 5 hour journey) much to the utter disappointment of us all especially the kids. It was intended to be a celebration weekend for my wedding anniversary and turned out to be a total nightmare. I stupidly beieved the TV ads and the brochure blurb and was devastated by the complete state of neglect and dirty, dilapidated condition of the accomodation. My dog had better conditions in the local kennels we put her in to allow us to go to this awful place!

If your thinking about going to this holiday camp. Please take it from me don't bother. The rooms are moldy smelly and most of them hadn't even been cleaned when we got them. The sheets had blood stains on them in one room and mold in another. I didn't want to risk the food once I had seen saw that I went and fot a full refund along with a lot of other people. I've never seen so many people asking for their money back. Horrible place please don't bother.

pontins is a good place to go away for a nice family holiday as its in a safe environment... i have been going to pontins blackpool for most of my life and my mother has been going for 36 or more years and we all love it .. the past few years my friends have came with us and are always askin me when i am going back so that they can come..
the food is lovely and they cater well for children and vegetarians.
The entertainment is always good wether is a cabaret or the bluecoat show which are always amazing and as i have been going for so long i get to know the bluecoats! some of them i know quite well and keep in contact with..
but on thing is that the room are not always up to scratch but your only in there to sleep and wash and dress so what can u expect!! and there is not much to do for teenagers during the day but theres always plenty going on xxx
so untill you have been and tried it out for your self dont believe all what you hear because you will be surprised when you go and love it x

This was our 4th time at Pontins Blackpool, it was a short 4 night break, we go abroad every year to 4/5 star hotels and have a short break in the school holidays to Pontins or haven.
Pontins Blackpool is great, we checked in at 4pm and were in our chalet by 4.20, it was basic but very clean, the food and entertainment is great, fab kids dances and shows and great all round entertainment, Ben Mills from X factor was brill, The Mad Hatters and the Harper Brothers wonderful and Blus Coat show really good and very professional. The venue for night entertainment does fill up fast and you have to get in early 6.30/7pm for a chance of a decent seat. Price at bar is no higher than any other holiday resort.
The camp is old and in need of some inprovements, gardens need attention some planting and bit of weed and feed on the lawns wouldnt go amiss but its clean and friendly, staff extremely helpful at all times.
