" On arrival things didn’t seem too... "

On arrival things didn’t seem too bad was handed an envelope which contained our room keys and a map of how to reach it. Chalet was very basic and reasonably clean although the carpet was grubby and could be done with replacement. Chalet could have been done with a lick of paint both indoors and out. No mention was made of the airport been so close nor the fact that our chalet was right next to the train tracks saying that the noise of these didn’t actually bother us that much. It was more the noise of the fellow holiday makers that got on our wicks. Pontins asks on booking the ages of people in the parties common sense should tell them not to place families next rooms full of rowdy teenagers.

The food was disgusting the whole canteen area stank so much so that we ate out as the constant smell which can only be described as sick, just put us clean off. The floors and walls were filthy nothing that a good day spent cleaning wouldn’t sort out. The toilets located in the canteen area and around the park were disgusting one cubical had excrement all over the back of the door, in a company as big as Pontins a few dozen bottles of bleach wouldn’t go amiss.

The public areas around the camp could have benefited from a scrub and a spruce up with some paint.

Didn’t have much contact with the blue coats but when we did check out the entertainment on offer it was rather good, only drawback is that it starts a bit too late think the bingo should be ditched either that or move it to just one theatre so that the kids entertainment could start a bit earlier. Again these areas could be done with a wash and polish, bar staff could smile more and wouldn’t go amiss to have a few extra members of staff serving.

We spent most of our time off camp down in St Annes if it hadn’t been for this I think we may have came home earlier. Pontins really need to invest some elbow grease and money in their Blackpool site I for one wont be going to another Pontins camp nor will I recommend anyone else too!

" Took my grandson to Blackpool, the... "

Took my grandson to Blackpool, the chalets were a bit basic, cleanish apart from the floors. Which were grotty. The food wasn't bad but not as good as it was years ago. There is decent entertainment, but its on much too late, if it was sooner it would have been ok. And the staff had parties in their chalets until 4/5 o clock am, with lots of noise and door kicking etc.

So some of us were too tired to stop up really late, the couple in the next chalet, had to go home a day early to get some sleep. My grandson had a good time though, one of the few that did. So at least he was happy. As for me never again, Pontins. Could have been ok with some things sorting out properly.

" It’s great. We go about 4 times a... "

It’s great. We go about 4 times a year, its a really good holiday camp. Ok the chalets are basic but they are clean and kept up to date. The food is all half board and its tasty you can eat as much as you want there’s loads of choice.

The entertainment is top notch with at least 2 shows a night a great kids club. The blue coats are excellent and very helpful. Snooker, darts go-carts, quad bikes, abseiling, archery, football comps, many more I’ve forgotten about is all free. Bingo for good money. Karaoke for the budding stars out there, Miss Pontins and why not.

Prices reasonable, Blackpool on your doorstep but not in your face. Camp is very secure and safe, its a family place. Try St Anne’s it has been all renovated and is only a stones throw away, as you can tell I like it here. Give it a go, you know it makes sense.

" This place is an absolute dump! We... "

This place is an absolute dump! We booked a club chalet thinking we had a good chance of nice accommodation - far from it.

The chalet was like stepping back in time about 20 years. It smelled of a public toilet and the towels and bed linen smelled of fish and chips. The camp style beds were most uncomfortable and the carpet was filthy! The curtains were totally see-through and they did not tell us that the airport was right next door and you had constant planes landing and taking off!

The restaurant smelled like B.O. Mind you the food was actually very good. The reception area and set up was very grubby and far from welcoming and do not even think about using the toilets in the reception area - take my word for it. The whole place is tired and run down and needs a major face lift.

The entertainment was quite good mind you the kid’s shows are on too late at night for small children.

We stayed at Pontins Blackpool with Sports Tours and participated in a football tournament. The accommodation was very good, the food excellent and entertainment fun especially the presentation night, which included a Barmy Army!

Blackpool Pleasure Beach was just a tram ride away, which was a plus! We really did have a great weekend and came runners up in the tournament. Thanks to everyone at Sports Tours and Pontins.
