Pontins Blackpool Reviews
" Fantastic, the kids loved it! Would... "
Submitted By: Mr L MarsdonThe room was basic but we didn’t use the room much as so much to do. The entertainment was wacky and amazing better than the red coats I've experienced...
Plus the staff are very nice and understanding of anything we needed. All you need to do is ask and they try there best to do that.
I would defintely recommend over and over again. I have been going for over 10 years now and I wouldn't change the holidays.

" I would not recommend anyone to... "
Submitted By: Miss L BellamyThe rooms are very basic, filthy old beds, filthy carpets, curtains etc, the carpet was that bad every time my baby daughter dropped her dummy on the carpet, I put it in the kettle that was provided and boiled it.
The day after our arrival when we got back to the chalet it wasn’t long before we noticed ants running all over the place.
We certainly won't be going back. The only thing that was ok ish was the entertainment by night, nothing to do during the day apart from hire bikes, swim.
The food was ok, nothing special.

Submitted By: Miss E ThomasThe staff are very persuasive at trying to get you to upgrade to a higher level but we stood our ground and said no, as it was pricey.
The caravan was lovely. Three big bedrooms with quilts and pillows (don't pay the charge for covers, just take your own).
The only thing that wasn't great, was that there was no concrete outside the caravan, so you have to park either a ten min walk away to the main car park or leave your car in deep mud.
The caravan had a TV and an oven and a toilet which was handy! Definitely recommend the place.

" This been our 10th consecutive time... "
Submitted By: Mrs A AdamsonWe have been visiting Blackpool Pontins since it first opened and we tried other pontins sites between 1990 and 96, however, due to its close location decided to return 'home'.
We always stay in Club apartments and were pleased as usual however, over the moon as we were given a choice of our location due to our loyalty. We now are on first hand terms with the staff as they love working there and never seem to change year after year.
On arrival to our chalet we didn’t expect to find that they had been modernised since last year. This is the 5th time in the 10 consecutive years.
Immediately the kids were off taking part in the Bluecoats antics in the main square while were let to get sorted.
The food improves a great deal each year and we, once again could not depict any faults. Friendly service is always evident any you always get a smile and a chat.
Over the 7 days which we were there, there was a different choice of meals each day (however, I would have liked for some of them to repeat)
Entertainment, well what can I say ... CLASS (in kids terms). Each evening is bursting with fun ready to burst into the Prince Theatre.
Overall, and as usual we were over the moon with our holiday and have already booked for the summer, October holiday, next February and next May.
WE CAN'T WAIT!

" Having been to Pontins 4 times in 2... "
Submitted By: Mrs C HollI wonder if we were just lucky as we've never had a dirty room, the beds have always been clean and have had fresh towels each morning.
The Chalets are quite basic but Oct we got a 2 bed roomed chalet, comfy bunk beds in one room (my daughters loved that) and the main area a comfy double bed, in the past we've had the fold out camp beds and they are very uncomfortable.
The chalet though we mainly used just for sleeping in as we were busy through the day.
Food in the restaurant is quite basic but decent enough. Staff were helpful enough and great with my 2 girl 6 and 9. Entertainment on the night time was good as well.
Not a great deal to do onsite though but a tram ride and you are in Blackpool.
Anyway we are booking up again in May so they are doing something right.

" Just arrived home after one fantastic... "
Submitted By: Miss M WilsonFood good and plenty of choice. Bluecoats even managed to get up early on Christmas morning to welcome everyone into breakfast.
There was plenty of evening entertainment and all the bluecoats are amazing and gave up there Christmases to entertain us. Well done to Frenchie, Sarah, Baby Ben, Johnny, Sandi, Adam and all the others!

" We have just returned from a very... "
Submitted By: Mrs A ClarkAfter reading the reviews before we went we were absolutely terrified! But luckily we did not agree with them.
The rooms (Club) were very clean on arrival, beds made, plenty of clean towels that were changed during our stay, digital TV, tea making facilities etc etc.
The food was excellent with plenty of choice - each evening there were 7 different meals ranging from fresh Omelettes to order, cold meats and salad, vegetarian dish, children’s meal and 3 main meal choices. Breakfast was equally as good with cereals, full English and toast etc. - also a healthy option of yoghurts etc. One writer said there was no fresh fruit but when asked the chef provided us with a choice of bananas, apples and oranges.
The evening entertainment was very good with the choice of 3 venues. We always got a seat and enjoyed the quizzes in stardust.
The only downfall was the weather, wet and very windy - but that was not Pontins fault.
The location is on a good bus route into Blackpool that stops right outside (although the open top was a bit cold in October) and the trams stops a few yards down the road.
I would highly recommend it for a traditional British seaside holiday.

" If it had been possible to rate this... "
Submitted By: Mr C ChisnallOn arrival we were told to park and, since we had arrived a little early, were told that we could make use on the facilities. Walking around the camp we wondered what facilities they were talking about! The indoor pool looked OK although it had nothing special to recommend it, i.e. no slides for children etc.
The Victoria Pub was a large, soulless area attached to an amusement arcade.
The camp layout was reminiscent of a prisoner of war camp, a concrete jungle lined with 1950`s style barracks.
When we got the key to our "chalet" we were appalled at the state of the place. The room was dirty, smelt musty and the view was grim to say the least. By this stage my wife was nearly in tears.
We decided that we could not stay here and went to inform reception. We were seen by the duty manager who was very apologetic and very understanding, He gave us a full refund.
Although the staff were pleasant and helpful I could not recommend this resort to anyone.

Submitted By: Ms L JonesBlue coats where ok some could be a bit nicer. I have been there before and didn’t realise that there’s so much to do day and night and you wouldn’t have to leave at all. My family and I will be back next year as my husband and I where able to relax and have fun as well.
p.s you don’t need to bring towels with you, you can hire then out for a very small amount and deposit which you get back.

Submitted By: Mrs J AdamsThe room we stayed in was an absolute hole! The carpet was stinking, I didn't walk on it in anything other than boots! The food was rubbish, my husband and I both came home with food poisoning and the entertainment was abysmal!
Where is an environmental health officer when you need one? The place needs closing down. I will NEVER be back....Thank God I didn't book Full Board!

" I absolutely love Pontins Blackpool!!... "
Submitted By: Miss R MalaThe food in the canteen wasn’t too bad and the Pleasure beach is only down the road but there is no need to go off site!
Just been reading the other reviews and someone mentions the fact that the staff have parties which is true but the staff chalets are well out of the way from the guest rooms so you cant hear them!
The bluecoats are all fantastic apart from one girl who had been promoted to assistant manager but I found she wasn’t very friendly and sociable! I stood at the bar of the queen vic and overheard her having ago at another bluecoat in there own time when they had finished work which i thought was a bit out of order and she had only been promoted that day so god help them all when the power really goes to her head!!
Well done to all the Bluecoats, the entertainment they put on was brill!! I am 22 yrs old and I even enjoyed the kids shows!! Well done Roxanne, Baby Ben, Charlie, Kerry, Chris, Terry, Johnny, DJ, Dan, Becky, Jade, Kayley, Lauren and Sarah you are all fab!!!!

Submitted By: Miss P CummingsThen we didn't get any bath mats - they claimed to have run out? The chalet was grubby, it smelt musty and I had to permanently have the windows open. But the best bit of all was that all 4 of us came down with food poisoning over a period of 5 days. Mine was so severe that I was vomiting for almost 8 hours in their grotty chalet and I hated the place so much that as soon as I felt well enough, my daughter and I left before the end of the holiday.
I would never go again. It is a dirty run down dump.

Submitted By: Mrs J ManleyThe canteen area also smelt and could have done with some paint the food was basic and you had to pay extra for soft drinks.
The whole camp needs money spending on it. The staff also need to smile more. I would not recommend pontins to anyone and I would never go back.

" The kids entertainment was great, and... "
Submitted By: Mrs C EckersleyChalet wasn't great - the carpet was dirty and the decor was tired. It was livable but basic. We started off in a Club room which we paid more for but it seemed to us to be just the same as the Classic room we were downgraded to and the Club room was right next to the entertainment venues and kids play area (which was the problem, we had 2 young children with us that would never have got to sleep with all the noise). The Classic room was actually slightly bigger, and we were given over £100 back in 'Pontins Pounds' for the difference in price between the 2 rooms so it worked out much better all round.
I would have given it a higher rating if the chalets had been nicer but as it is I wouldn't go back just because of the chalets.

The food that we got was great from kid’s foods, meaty foods and salads, the only bad thing was that you have to pay for cola but you got fresh fruit juice for free.
The kids facilities on site were so good you could have a splash around in the swimming pool or do Quad bike, dodge ball and loads more things.
At night the venues get busy but there are plenty of seats for every one. The blue coats are much better than havens fun stars, they make you happy and when there in entertainment venues they are so funny.
The stardust bar was the best at pontins because it had magic shows funny shows and much much more.
I would recommend pontins Blackpool to anyone who wants fun and fast holidays.
