" We spent a week at Wall Park with... "

We spent a week at Wall Park with our two grandchildren who are 11 and 3 even though we knew it wasnt Pontins anymore. We were upgraded to classic when we arrived at no extra cost and we were slightly apprehensive when we read some bad reviews on the net but we needn't have worried because our chalet was spotless with fresh clean bed linen supplied. The entertainment staff were absolutely brilliant and my little grandaughter who is 3 fell in love with all of them. The effort they put into the shows was second to none. We ate at the conservatory restaurant a few times, and found it very good value for money and the service was excellent. Overall the camp was very clean and beautiful flower beds lining the main drive. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and we recommend it for a good value for money holiday. Our two grandchildren are already asking if we will take them again next year so we are thinking of booking again if as we hope they are still operating.

" Never been before, but I would... "

Never been before, but I would definitely go again!!!! Wasn't bothered that it isn't part of pontins just wanted to go away with the kids for a bit. Yes some of the accomodation is a bit basic, but we stayed in a classic apartment which has been upgraded with upvc windows and doors. The entertainment is good and the staff are brillant. The facilities are great there is plenty for the kids to do, there is two pools. indoor and out. There is a kids adventure area and an outside playarea. The restaurant to good and there are two bars for the adults. I am looking to go again with my son and one of his friends for another short break.

" Just a quick note to say that my... "

Just a quick note to say that my partner and I and our 2 girls (both aged 9) have just returned from here after having spent a long weekend. Anyone who is worried about going as it's no longer a Pontins holiday camp shouldn't. We had a fantastic time. The shows were great, the entertainment staff were superb and everyone else was very polite and helpful. It was as good now as when I used to go many years ago as a kiddie. The only difference now is that Captain Croc is no longer around. The chalets are basic, but they were clean, likewise the bed linen. We were given a free upgrade on arrival and also we didn't have to pay for electricity; we were given 2 electric cards on arrival. One of which we handed back in on departure. Of the other I think we used less than half. I think if you don't enjoy yourself here you are going with the wrong frame of mind.

" I was reading some of the other... "

I was reading some of the other reviews and i had to make a comment.MY family has been going to wall park of 4 years running now and we just love it. Ok i do agree the accomadation has seen better days and its very basic, but what do you expect for the price at the end of the day you get what you pay for. WE have always found all the staff to be very friendly. The blue coats (or thats what there used to be called ) was alot more relaxed this year i think with it not being pontins anymore it was much better we were a bit worried about that but there was no need. We were there for 10 days and had a fantastic time,we would reccommend it to anyone, throughly enjoyed it and cant wait to go back soon

" got to brixham and couldnt find the... "

got to brixham and couldnt find the rest of the signs to get to site .the site is on a normal rd with houses its just a drive with big gates to it with lovely flowers every where. went to book in had 2 appartments for 7 ppl one was a disabled room. there was no que it was wasnt busy there just right i think. got to rooms and they was lovely real wooden floor in our club had tv in living room and bedroom, it also had a new sofa bed in it. it was very clean. the only thing i didnt like about the room is you had a switch for the cooker and shower so you only could use one or the other. ther other room we had was a disabled and that was niceit was a classic . most of the appartment was emty i think they where doing them up. the cafe on site was reasonable had different night for 4.99 meals. they where very friendly there.the blue coats ( which are not any more) were brill.there wasnt any sports for the kids to do its all stopped cause its not pontins anymore we did have £60 in vouchers to spend on meals or drinks which saved us a bit. it is now called WALL PARK HOLIDAY PARK now . brixham was down the hill . we drove down its a bit of a walk. we had a lovely stay there would go again.

" I have stay at wall park a few times.... "

I have stay at wall park a few times. The accomation is ok for been over 70yrs old. The staff are very good and give good customer service. As I have work for pontins for 5 years and know a manager of a 5star Hotel in london. I think you get what you pay for in life. Maybes the people who are go-on out about this site should think about paying a bit more money. mosted of the guest come with newpaper deals and think they are staying in a 5 star resort for 10 pounds per night for a family of 4. IT A CHEAP FAMILY PLACE TO COME Come and stay in london and you pay that just for a meal for 1 person. come on wake up and smell the coffe

" Booked a Sun holiday and was given... "

Booked a Sun holiday and was given Wall Park. After reading the reviews I phoned Wall Park to ask about the accommodation issues I had, ie dirty smelly rooms etc... They would not confirm any speculation about accommodation but said if I was that concerned maybe should upgrade to Club.
This cost me £99. Having 2 small children I couldn't risk them sleeping in smelly beds!
We arrived at the park and greeted by a pleasant security man who told us where we had to park etc.
The staff at reception were very pleasant, gave us our keys and off we went. I have to say my stomach was turning at this point not knowing what would await us. Especially after reading such awful reviews.
I have to say I was very surprised. They are clearly updating this site and our accommodation was fair, ok as a base. I would have hated to see the budget accommodation!
We had towels and the bedding supplied was ok. A couple of stains on the sheets but hey we took our own bedding anyway, just to be on the safe side! There was complimentary tea, coffee, packet milk and sugar. The fridge was clean as was the cooker.
The apartment was clean and tidy. My children were happy with the bunk beds and the fact there was a tv in their room. However a safety issue was raised when my youngest opened the drawers which the tv was on to put his clothes away and it almost fell onto him. If we wasn't in the room who knows what would of happened.
The shop on the site was a little expensive but I think that's fair of most shops on holiday sites.
The pool was clean and the staff there were ok. The childrens play area and ball pit was ok. My little ones loved it. There were 2 playstations and a film showing most times we were there. The staff were happy and helpful to us at all times.
Outside there wasn't much for the little ones. There was a big pirate boat, some swings and a climbing area. There was a go karting area but never saw it open whilst we were there.
The site itself seemed clean and tidy, plenty of parking. Although you cannot park near your accommodation. The children can at least play outside without fear of being struck by a car.
My recommendations would be to upgrade if you can afford it. Use it as a base and explore the local area. Its a nice walk down into Brixham. Its a really beautiful area with so much around to do, Paignton Zoo, Torquay, Goodringham Sands etc...
The park is obviously undergoing a refurb at the moment. I would happily stay there again but in Club accommodation!

" We have been going to this park for 4... "

We have been going to this park for 4 years and were a little nervous when we found out it was no longer part of Pontins. However our fears were unjustified. The only difference we noticed (other than the lack of characters) was the entertainment staff seemed even more enthusiastic than in previous years and more relaxed (maybe due to the lack of 'Corporate Pontins' breathing down their necks). They were so impresive we have booked to go back for the end of season.

It has to be said, the chalets are basic but no more so than you should expect for this type and cost of holiday. I have never had an issue with the cleanliness at Wall Park but like any employer, they will always have some staff better than others. Other reviews have stated that the staff are really helpful when complaints are made, as though the complaint is expected. Mistakes will always happen sometimes and surely it is good for the staff to be well trained in dealing with them.

Pre-teen children are well catered for in a safe environment, which allows the parents to relax and have a good time.

" I was dreading going after reading... "

I was dreading going after reading the reviews on here and I can honestly say I was very pleasantly suprised!
They exchanged our rooms at no extra cost from a 1 to 2 bedroom so the kids (8 year old girl and 9 year old boy) could have their own rooms. They gave us a new kettle when we found one wasn't there.
The fridge was new, the place was spotless, the linen fresh.
It was fantastic and the weekend went too quickly, although we were lucky with the weather as it was glorious sunshine there (despite being told it was raining everywhere else!)
We felt safe there knowing that outsiders couldn't come in the park, which has happend at several other parks we've been too and can spoil the atmosphere a bit.
The staff were great and really helpful with suggesting places to go and routes to get there.
I would go back again as it was fantastic!
If it was pointins before with the bad reviews then well done new owners!

" Four adults took advantage of the sun... "

Four adults took advantage of the sun deal and were full of trepidation after reading the reviews, so much so that we went armed with a carrier bag of cleaning materials plus rubber gloves!!! Arrived early and took in Brixham, very quaint just like the Doc Martin series. Arrived earlier than the checking in time and the staff were welcoming, allowing us to check in earlier than specified as the chalet was ready. Malcom accompained us as we shared our fears, what a pleasant suprise the chalet was as clean as a new pin! o.k you can not have a shower and cook because of the surge needed but it was never a problem for us and what a small price to pay for stunning views and beautiful day trips to take in! We only spent one evening on site but the entertainment was good, definatley catering for children, the site was kept clean and tidy. Only four hundred people were staying on the site so I imagine in peak season the staff have their work cut out for them as do the local areas, we took in Paignton, lovely, Torquay we felt not as good but major re-furbishment is taking place! We all had a fantastic time and would without a doubt recommend it to our friends!

" Just returned from 4 days at Wall... "

Just returned from 4 days at Wall Park Holiday Camp Brixham.
Having booked a cheap and cheerful Sun Holiday at Wall Park and then read the dreadful reports on this site we wondered just what we had let ourselves in for. As we are 4 pensioners we had arranged an upgrade before we went to get some more space. We arrived and were surprised to see the site was sparkling with flowers and shrubs everywhere. The site is well maintained. We were shown to our chalet which although an upgrade was very tiny so we asked for a further upgrade. The duty manager eventually appeared and conducted us to another much larger chalet which suited us admirably. When we asked the extra cost we were told nothing to pay, Great this is even better. We had to wait for the chalet to be cleaned and the bed linen put in but when we took over the sheets were spotless. The only problem was a very strong smell of Cigarette smoke. Masked with a tin of deodorant spray. The amenities which are designed for children were clean and bright having recently been redecorated externally. Prices in the restuarant were goodand the little shop well stocked. The evening entertainment was fair to middling though one night the "magician" would have been voted off in round one of Britains Got Talent. We looked for the buzzers, but otherwise not bad.
Brixham is a delightful place very clean with no graffiti and no rubish littering the streets. Ther are plenty of places of interest to visit. In all a very good holiday and don't beleive all the rubbish you might read on this site about how bad it is. It is not the Ritz but then you pay more at the Ritz for breakfast than this costs for a 4 day break. Value for money it is great and I have stayed at some top hotels throughout the world.

" We were really worried about going to... "

We were really worried about going to Wall Park, Brixham after reading some of the reviews on this website. We only stayed for a weekend break but everything was fine. The chalet was a bit basic but had been updated in places and everything was really clean. There were no smells! The site itself was very clean and the gardens well kept. Great cental area where children can play in the park and adults can relax with a pint. Didn't visit the restaurant but it smelt nice! All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The entertainment was good and made enjoyable by the on-site entertainers who worked really hard. The pool was a bit shallow but very clean and well maintained. The on-site pitch n' putt was excellent (extra cost but well worth it). The shop was well stocked. Large amusement arcade. Great for visiting surrounding areas. They have a system of checking people in and out of the site which improves security and is quite welcoming being greeted by friendly staff (the kids enjoyed giving in their tickets!). I don't normally write reviews but having stayed at the site I feel it does not deserve all the negative comments. What the site needs is a website which I am sure will come in time.
