we have been to turkey many times and stopped at numerous hotels in kusadasi. this hotel was the best one ever. from the moment we arrived the staff made us welcome.nothing was to much trouble. the hotel was spotless, the food was varied and enjoyable. if you are looking for english breakfast or english grub this hotel is not for you. every other variety of food is plentiful. we dont go on holiday wanting english food, we like to eat a varied diet, which was what we got. the pools and beach area were safe and lifeguards were on duty.the evening entertainment was on a little late for us. we have spent many holidays in the carribean and this hotel was a much better hotel.booked already for next year

when i first read the reviews i thought that every1 was just fussy and stuck up and i was right this is a lovely hotel and am definitely going back i have a 2 year old daughter and she loved it, there's a separate pool area for the kids with some activities which wasn't open very often but still had pens and paper even when closed the snack bar had really lovely food which never run out the evening meal was a bit horrible but I'm just fussy with food but be careful with the meat because it was raw every night but they will put it back on the grill if you show them its pink and don't have ice in your drinks because the water will give you the runs (trust me) the beach isn't the cleanest but cant really moan because they have plenty of sun loungers and a bar on the beach for all-inclusive and food. the town is big we got a bit lost but it was nice to walk there it takes bout half an hour to walk and you pass pigeon island which does nice kebabs overall the best holiday Ive ever been on and will be booking up for 2010 when we will have a new baby as well.

Firstly upon arrival,we were told that the hotel we originally booked in was closed , which we were not told about, until we got on the coach from the airport, and was upgraded to the grand blue sky hotel, the hotel looked lovely, it was when you got inside the problems started. We arrived at 5:30pm and had a cold shower before the evening meal started, when we got there, the whole place was run wick with Turks who were celebrating the end of ramadan, and we struggled for a table. The food was also the worst i've seen for all - inclusive, everything was based on chicken, which was rare in the middle ( a good example for food poisoning),unless you was a rabbit, and ate salad everyday. The hotel is supposed to be 2kms away from the city centre, more like 20 minutes on a dolmus. To get to the beach, it was a good 70 - 80 steep steps down, and when you got there, there were no non-motorised sports equipment (pedloes, canoes etc). when I complained to the Rep she said that she was leaving the following week and didnt seem to bother, but told us that she was happy to see some english, as there was only about 15 english couples there, and approx 2500 Turks, romanians, etc. The entertainment was nil, apart from the turkish garage music that was blasted out all day and into the early morning. After three days I was ready for home, and this holiday I was ready for,as it had been booked for months. This stay here has put me off holidays abroad for a long time, It would have to take a very special hotel to convert me into a foreign holiday in the future.

We first visited the Grand Blue Sky in 2005 and were very impressed at the hotel. However, the hotel has obviously been in decline and we were very disappointed this holiday. A good refit is needed with new furniture.
Food is quite good, however beware of uncooked meat from the outdoor grills. With the exception of receiption, the staff are quite good - however they do expect a tip and will bring around the tip box. We do tip, but I feel it is rude for the staff to be begging at the table when they bring around the wooden tip box. Our cleaner is rude and if you do tip please ensure it is compatitable and she also likes your toiletries!!
Lack of hot water is a major issue - it is very scarce between 5.30 pm onwards. Tip from Receiption is to get ready at 2pm for the night ahead when there is hot water!!
Location is excellent and the sunrises are fantasic.
This hotel has gone downhill and we will not be returning and will not recommend.

I have just returned from the Grand Blue Sky and have to say it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The location is the only positive thing about this hotel. The reception staff understood and spoke virtually no English so complaining was not an option. The food was the worst I have ever had and pretty much the same every meal. Even 2 star hotels have provided better food. The staff seemed thin on the ground and those that were there, particularly in the dining room snack bar etc., seemed to be demotivated and looking to do as little as possible. Tables were not cleared or were cleared completely with dirty cloths left after the first people had eaten so you had to ask for cutlery etc. The dining room opened at 7.30 and people stood in a cluster ready to run to find a table, it was like the start of the London Marathon. (I have to add that there were only about 15-20 British in this very large hotel). Thomas Cook need to go and look at this hotel and compare it to others boasting 4 star accommodation as I would not give it a 2 star rating. Many people who had returned there after a 3 or 4 year break away were shocked at the way the standard had deteriated and said they would definitely not go there again. If you have booked this hotel for later in the summer I would suggest you go prepared to eat out quite a lot and don't expect what you have experienced in other 4 star hotels even in Turkey.

staff were very friendly and helpful.Food and beverages were excellent.
Entertainment very good and funny. The staff were very funny and loved children. We would love to return. The pool was very clean and games were played each day.
Loads to do in and around Kusadasi, the dolphin show is a must for all to enjoy as is the market.
These following comments are from my 9yr. daughter.......
The beach was very clean and just a minute away from the hotel love to go back again. I thought it was the best holiday i'd ever had!!!!

We weren't very sure about the hotel after having read some of the comments, but despite a late arrival after a grueling day, we were very pleasantly surprised to see the quality of our hotel. Quick check in, complimentary drinks and porter were all there. We asked for a supplementary bed and it was set up in the room within 15 minutes! This certainly set the tone for the rest of the holiday.
Magnificent views (go up to the 6th floor and take pictures of the coast line).
Very good food (I agree that some dishes appeared several times a week, but it allowed us to go back to our favorites and anyway there was so much choice that it didn't matter). We were able to benefit from the 3 specialty restaurants and they were all very good with excellent waiters and sea view.
Round the clock drinks with unlimited water and alcoholic cocktails etc, even down by the beach bar.
Plenty of sun beds not only around the pools but also scattered around the beautiful gardens under the shady palm trees. Our 3 year old daughter was able to have a siesta everyday in a nice quiet corner and people were very respectful about not making a noise.
The animation was good, if a little noisy and the bar staff were extraordinary in the way that they kept going all day long and still smiled and were friendly even until the early hours of the morning. The restaurant staff, while generally helpful, were not particularly friendly with little English.
The rooms were excellent, the cleaning lady came daily and was very good and despite having a supplementary bed as well as a table and two chairs, there was plenty of room to move around. Huge cupboards and large drawers were also a bonus. The minibar was filled everyday.
On site nurse. We had two mishaps while in the hotel (our own fault) and on both occasions we were able to go the nurse without delay and we were greeted very nicely on our return visits to change the bandages.
All the pools were cleaned daily, not only the water but also the sun beds and around.
Thank you to the kiddies club which allowed us to read our books in peace while permitting our daughter to potter back and forth with her works of art when she wanted to. There are sun beds around the kiddies pool and play area for the more dedicated parents!
All in all we had a very nice holiday in the Grand Blue Sky with very little to complain about, except for the fact that ice-cream is only served once a day at 5 o'clock which generates queues and is annoying if you'd like one at some other time of the day.
We would definitely recommend this hotel in the high season.

We were originally booked to stay in the hotel Imbat for the duration of our holiday, which is the sister hotel to Grand Blue Sky. However, we were informed by out tour operator a few weeks before our departure date that the Hotel Imbat would not be open on time for our arrival so they had made reservations for us to stay at the Grand Blue sky hotel instead for no extra charge, despite it being more expensive to stay there than at the Imbat.
We arrived at approximately half past six after a very long day previously and no sleep on the plane. The staff were very welcoming and tried to get everyone checked in as quickly as possible so they could go off an relax. We were told to leave out cases at reception and they were brought up to our rooms approximately half and hour later.
The rooms were very spacious and very clean. The maids did a very good job as our rooms were spotlessly cleaned each day along with clean bedding and towels. The balcony was spacious with excellent views of the pool and ocean. We did however experience a couple of problems with out toilet where it would not flush. We reported it to reception each time and when we returned to our apartment later in the day had been fixed and was in full working order again.
Found no problems in getting sun beds near the pool and pool was lovely and cool as well as very clean. The workers in the massage parlour often came round with cooled towels for those around the pool during the hotter periods of the day.
The bar staff were very friendly and as soon as they noticed that your drink was finished would come over and ask you if you would like another.
The food was a little repetitive but still very enjoyable and suitable for all tastes. There is also a lot of variety for fussy eaters as well as those who like to try something new.
The entertainment staff were brilliant and managed to keep everyone amused throughout the day and well into the evening. It amazed me how upbeat they are especially after the long hours they work.
I was a bit skeptical about coming to turkey when we first booked the holiday but as soon as I got there I did not want to leave. Definitely the best holiday I have ever been on to date and can not wait to come back sometime in the future

This was my honeymoon. I married Ami and automatically took on her 8-yr old, Jack as my stepson.
We didn't want to leave Jack at home, yet we wanted our privacy. I did the next best thing and invited my mother-in-law to come with us and to look after Jack when we wanted some time alone.
The anticipation on the journey there was tremendous, and as we dropped other people off at their hotels on the way, we started to wonder whether our hotel would be as grand as theirs seemed to be.
We were certainly not disappointed!
The Blue Sky was grand in every way. The reception was gorgeous, the staff extremely friendly, the food exquisite and the scenery matched the brochure pictures perfectly. Our room faced out to the sea and over the 3 large pools, and huddled together on our large balcony we could watch the other guests enjoying themselves in the daytime and watch the stars twinkling over the ocean at night.
It was perfect in every way.

When I read on here that people gave this hotel 1/10 or even 5/10 I was outraged, the hotel was beautiful, very clean and pleasant. Staff were lovely and tried to make guests as happy as possible.
The daily maid service was exceptional, she didn’t speak much English but she was very pleasant always smiling and she made the rooms spotless.
The food was also lovely although it was pretty much the same food everyday it was still very nice. One night we went to the Ottoman Restaurant which is in the hotel but you have to book a place 24 hours in advance, the food was brilliant as were the staff. Unfortunately the sea food bar and Italian restaurant had been closed down due to not enough interest.
The pool was freezing but what would you expect. It was very nice and clean, smaller that it looks in the pictures though.
There are 92 steps down to the beach (sounds worse than it is) and many hills so not so good for the hard of walking and some elderly, but i found it good.
I really did like this hotel and I will probably be going back next year.

just come back from grand blue sky,the worst hotel ive stayed in anywhere,i go to kusadasi every year, and normally stay at the saelight, this year however i was late booking so had to settle for the imbat hotel,on arrival at 03.30 we were told we were being moved to the sister hotel ,grand blue sky as the imbat is closed.great start to a holiday...we then had to carry our own luggage up the hill to the blue sky.
the rooms were large and cleaned daily, and apart from the triffid growing outside the balcony which obscured the sea view not really much more to complain about there .
THE FOOD...was very repetative, chicken, turkey, meatballs, every night a different combonation of the same luke warm food,as a result we ate out at ladies beach,at the mona lisa, where they do a lovely creamed mushroom sause...the ice sream was the only thing which was served at the right temprature at the blue sky,
THE DRINKS..were ok if you could find someone to serve you, because the hotel was due to close for the season 3 weeks before we left,it was obviouse they had no intention of restocking the main lobby bar.i asked on several occassions but was told none left.this is not good practice for a so called 4 star hotel,i paid good money to stay here and i expexted the same service as people who were there in high season,
THE STAFF....in the dinning room were basically non existent with the exeption of a few waiters cleaning tables there seemed to be more chefs than waiters..as for trying to get a drink they had 1 barman serving the main lobby bar, sometimes 2 when it got relly busy ,which was most nights, they worked extremly hard i have to say....the furniture was more suited to garden furniture.and was in need of repair as you can see from the phote attached..
if you are looking for a four star hotel in kusadasi do your homework there are plenty ..but the blue sky is not one of them.
i will go back to kusadasi next year as the place itself is lovely but i will avoid this hotel like the plague...
i would just like to say the british people we met there were fantastic.they really made our holiday a big thanks to di and stuart see you at the sealight next year......
