The whole site was dirty, shabby, old fashioned, un-organised and un-kept. 50% of the amusement machines didn't work and there was cigarette butts everywhere. We hired 2 apartments, which were clean, but there was not enough duvets, one apartment had no hot water and the t.v did not work. When we reported this, the woman behind the counter at customer services just said "ahh". Nothing else was said or done.

On arrival, had to queue for a little while. Once given keys, we discovered we had been given a 1 bedroom Popular apartment instead of a 2 bedroom classic which hadn't even been cleaned. The curtain rail was hanging off the bedroom window and there was no bathroom window or even an extractor fan. There were old plastic school chairs used as dining chairs. However, when we complained, we were told that there were no other chalets so they offered to clean our chalet. It was finally cleaned while we were eating our evening meal, which we had queued about 40 minutes for. But when we got back, we found that the cleaner had thrown out our booking and insurance details, thinking it was rubbish. 70 free activites?! We only saw about 5 and most of them you had to pay for! Which works out expensive when you have 3 kids! Swimming pool contained too much chlorine which burnt our eyes, dirty line round edge of pool, lifeguards not doing their job properly, only stationed next to baby pool, no lifeguard at the deep end.The entertainment by the blue coats and professional acts were pretty good, but came on too late in the evening. Early evening, the public seemed to be providing the entertainment in a talent show. The food was good but the queues were long as they kept running out of certain items, the staff worked hard though. In general, the whole place was dirty, rubbish lying around everywhere, bedding left outside chalet door for two days. Bluecoats were good with the kids and staff were reasonably friendly and helpful but the place just needs a good clean and refurbishment and brought up to the 21st century! With Brean Leisure park and the beach just around the corner there's lots to do for families, a lovely area to visit, close to Weston-Super-Mare and Cheedar Gorge and Caves etc which we visited. We would go to the area again, with it's glorious scenery and beaches but would stay in a different park.
- Advice: Use Pontins Brean Sands just as a base to explore the surrounding attractions and beaches.

it will be my first and last time going to pontins chalets were old shabby carpets and dirty cob webs behind units where pots and pans were, mold around windows also not been cleaned, staff moral very low , public areas ie paths could do with a good steam clean this camp could do with being refurbished throughout.sliding doors to chalets are old and not very secure so i would not recommend leaving anything of value in them.
- Advice: if you can camp up good beach for walking the dog good entertainment for kids

well where do i start would i go again NO NEVER !!!!!
the place we stayed in wasnt that bad really but i spoke to some people and there's was moldy so we were lucky there went half board and that was the worst thing ive seen in my life an hour and a half que for slop so went to a cafe down the road (krackers, really nice breakfast) nothing to do for my 10 year old that didnt cost the earth only if your under 8 or tall. All drinks watered down so coould even drown our sorrows, we complained and they said we wasnt the first they had 934 complaints in 2 days, yes i agree that a holiday is wot you make it but this place is just bad all round kids wanted to come home on first day. there is a nice beach across the road tho and a theme park next door. if your thinking about booking DONT!!!! if youve booked try and get your money back and go somewhere else because you wont get a refund. good luck

We have just returned from a 1 week holiday at brean sands pontins and i am bitterly dissapointed!.
First of all the staff are stuck up and miserable. We arrived at our chalet to find broken microwave, the mattress had a split all the way through (disgusting) and i have had the worst weeks sleep ever!! the beds are the worst, with springs poking out everywhere, we had a hand brush to sweep carpet and it was like it had never been swept ever!! Ww did not have freeview but our family who were staying next door did. The toilet had no lid and was so filthy we had to buy bleach to clean it. 1960 facilities nothing like what you see on their website.
Needless to say we will never return for a repeat holiday
If i can think of a positive then.....the kids enjoyed the pool, go carts, and quads.
- Advice: Dont stay.....people are stuck up and unhelpful stay in a caravan its cleaner

we heard the re were bad reviews about pointins brean sands,so we anticapated the worst,,but that was really unfair because our holiday was fine..the accomodation was perfectley ok,no problems at all..10 min que to get keys, evening entertainment was good,,we certainly found staff to be frindly,,everyone we met=by our shalley were happy with all that was there',,only complaints we heard were from people on half board-saying long que and food cold,,but apart from that',we and our neioubours',all enjoyed our stay at pointins, brean sands...this is also our third year there, and we thought it the best...please dont be put off by other peoples sarky comments,we had a great time,,,enjoy yourself..and we stayed a week.8-14 august..
- Advice: do what you want,,but make sure you visit brean leisure beach,,the wristband option is brilliant'

First of all Its important that you know we are not one of those fussy families who cant be pleased with anything. We wasnt expecting the best from pontins but what we experienced was beyond!! We stayed from 15th-19th AUG. We were not allowed to check in untill 4 oclock and there was huge ques for check in. As we were not allowed to enter pontins untill 4 we couldnt really see much but what we could see (the main building) looked ok. As we went in we saw the chalets. Very ugly plastic school type building. We were hoping these were the budget apartments, then we found out these were the majority of aparments. We was all looking forward to the holiday so we kept optimistic untill we got t the chalet.
1)carpet filthy, old, smelly, full of stains
2)cupboards broke, dirty cutlery
3)smelly, damp sofa bed also broke
4)television from the 60's which had the cheek to include a pontins channel
5)tv cabinets with doors and draw removed
6) walls damaged
7) matresses about3 inches thick and extremely old
8) wardrobes with missing doors
the chalet itself was clean, bathroom and kitchen area were at a good standard of cleanliness which was the main thing but the matresses and sofa bed and furniture were in an appauling state. wasnt bothered about the wardrobes being broke as u dont have to sleep in those but the beds were quite minging.
the cleaners had the nerve to leave a load of bedding out so we had to make up our own beds. the cleaners went around but they dont clean your chalet during your stay. men drove around on tractors with new matresses everyday but never actually saw them moving them!
good places in pontins resort, childrens play area and arcade.
bad places, everywhere else!!
I RECOMMEND............ THE SEAGULL-A CLUB UP THE ROAD THAT DOES ADULT AND CHILDRENS ENTERTAINMENT AND FOOD
DICKIES/THE TAVERN.... ENTERTAINMENT AND FOOD (BEST PLACE IN BREAN)
we went to a pig race one night, the commentator said, 2 pigs have ran to the funfair, 2 ran to the beach and 2 ran in pontins but they soon came back
ENOUGH SAID
- Advice: go everywhere else but pontins

Came on a David urquhart coach holiday and wasnt expecting much due to cheap price however a 30 minute wait to get key, was supposed to be provided with electric card as this was paid for and wasnt and then spent 30 minutes waiting to get one. chalet was so small and claustrophobic. beds were ripped and dirty and this included the only double bed which was the sofa. one pillow had a suspect brown stain on it, all bedding was ripped or seams unstitched. Food was luke warm and you had to queue up to one hour to get it. If you had a special food requirement like my daughter who is vegetarian you have to request this seperately however there is no choice of food. The swimming pool was open late one day due to chlorine problems and was cold when it was opened. made my daughter ill. I have come back home today with flea bites and a gash on my arm from the sofa bed
- Advice: go off site and explore the surrounding areas. The beach is lovely.

just got back from a mon-fri break at pontins brean sands, and to be perfectly honest it was the first time weve ever stayed there, and we will never ever go there again !it was like a concentration camp.we upgraded to the club apartment as we were told it was the best accomodation.when we got there it was a small dingy bedsit,we were unable to all sit comfortably to watch t.v in the nights, there were old tatty plastic chairs which i wouldnt put my dog on !for the money paid it was utter rubish.dont waste your money there are much better places to go.it is old and run down,we couldnt stand being in there.theres not enough of room to do a push up to be perfectly honest.very very dissapointing place.STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOUVE GOT ANY SENSE !
