Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel

The Renaissance is very conveniently placed, only a few minutes’ walk from the main railway station in Amsterdam.
This is a big plus for the weary traveller, and not difficult to find.
The hotel itself is a little odd mix of very grand, and also somewhat quirky, but never unpleasant.
The rooms are spread around different areas of the hotel, so it’s a little bit of a rabbit warren sometimes to find rooms. The rooms are clean, spacious, well equipped, and pleasant.
On this visit in particular it was a little noisy due to some slightly loutish guests, who'd had a few drinks too many, but over the course of the stay it settled and the piece was resumed. :)
Food in general was a highlight. The bar/cafe/bistro was great. We booked a dinner+B&B package and this included one alcoholic or as many soft drinks as needed, during the meal. A bit pub-grubby in style, it was still tasty and very edible.
Breakfast was excellent, and a big comb of honey to carve some off with toast... yummy.
Overall... not the best hotel in the world, but a great place to stop in Amsterdam to sight see.
