Located on the Right Bank, the Palais Royal enjoys an extremely central position, opposite the Jardin du Palais Royal and is surrounded by many shops, boutiques and cafés. The hotel is within a short distance of the Opéra, Centre Pompidou and the Louvre and is well served by public transport. It is located in a mainly business district, so the area was very quiet at night (a little too quiet, in some respects, for example, I wouldn't have wanted to go out alone late at night). The location is ideal, however, for the Louvre and les Halles shopping complex, and we discovered the Palais Royal, which we had missed on previous visits to Paris.
Local amenities are good during the day - the hotel is located right next door to a beautiful "passage" full of unusual shops & lovely cafes, and there are several designer boutiques on the Place de Victoires just around the corner.
Breakfast is available, but there are so many cafes nearby that we decided to eat out every morning.
We will almost certainly book this hotel for our next trip to Paris.
