Timhotel le Louvre Hotel

Me and my partner stayed at the Timhotel le Lourve at the begining of july. We knew what to expect as it was only a 2* but i was pretty surprised. The room was basic but large and spacey. Ok the bed or bedding wasnt greatly comfy, but what do you expect for the price. Yes the bathrooms and showers are small but clean. Breakfast aint that great to be honest. We stayed at the Timhotel le Louvre with my parents and our three kids. Rooms were in decent condition, the air conditioning worked well, and the quad and triple rooms we stayed in were fairly spacious considering what normal European accomodations are like. The staff was not overly helpful though and most did not speak much English. The lift was SMALL! you could fit an adult and one piece of luggage tops. This hotel was good for what we needed on our weekend in Paris. It only cost us £90 a night for the room when we booked through venere.com. Normally the rates were much higher. We only needed somewhere to put our bags and our heads down at the end of a long day and this hotel fit the bill. The room was clean and big with 2 double beds. The location is excellent for the Louvre, metro stops, restaurants and cafes and within walking distance of other sites. The room was clean and tidy with good facilities, however it was very small. It was fine for the few nights we stayed, but we would have struggled with a fortnights luggage. The bathroom was clean, but tiny and the shower leaked. Left after one night of a planned 7 night stay. Room was like staying in Grandma's attic. Bathroom so small, you could not turn around to dry off unless you stayed in the tub. Generally shabby and you had to go to the front desk to check out a hair dryer and then return it when you were done! We booked the triple room, but it was inadequate. Wanted to book a 2nd room, but they said they had no availability. When I asked them to check another Timhotel in Paris, they claimed ignorance of any other Timhotels. Location is terrific if the Louvre is your main reason for being in Paris. It is also close to metro which apparently is easy to navigate but this traveler with her 80 year old mother found it more than difficult. The hotel itself was adequate but certainly overpriced...my 13 y/o daughter was appalled that it cost 600 dollars/night for two rooms that were little more than closets.(4 people/ 1 double and 1 twin) Booking through Expedia negates the continental breakfast so it would have cost 10 euros/person. I am a photographer and came by myself to Paris to work on a photo project. I stayed at the TimHotel le Louvre from May 30th til June 5th. I had a single room which had a twin bed, a desk and bathroom with shower. Yeah, the place is small, but it was clean, the showers were hot and the water pressure was great and it was right across the street from the louvre. ok, it is a bit small but most hotels in Europe are. a little shabby but you cant complain for only 100 Euro/night, you get a basic 3 star. it doesn’t claim to be anything more than it is. it was clean and they did provide soap, shampoo and extra blankets and pillows. had heater and was tidied ever day. shower is tiny and i mean tiny. if you drop the soap forget picking it up, you bump your head bending down. The hotel room was clean and not too big but had everything you need: bed, a tiny shower, a little desk and tv. The best is the location. It's just one block from Louvre and you can walk within 10 min. to many sights like Notre Dame and Opera. There are also two metrostations nearby.

Actually the problem was because of my travel agent. They have told me that we need to book a double room and stay three person. Because it was told that the rooms were for up to four person. We arrived at the hotel and they told us that they do not have any room for three person but only one room. And there was only a window on the ceiling. We could see nothing at all about Paris.
