Star Hotel Etoile

We stayed in the triple room with balcony and two large windows at the Star Hotel Etoile. The room itself was compact but had enough room for us, myself and husband and our son. The bathroom was small but I had expected this after reading the trip adviser reviews before we left. The beds were comfy. Staff were polite and willing to assist, especially day staff. The best thing about this hotel was it's location. Minutes from the Arc, Champs d'Elysee and to the metro. Hotel itself was typical old world European. Room was clean, but small. Bathroom was especially tiny, but modern. Breakfast was not even included in the price. I did not sample the breakfast, but my friend shelled out 12 euros for it and said it was actually pretty amazing- excellent selection of cheeses and fruits. As noted in other reviews, the hotel was small but clean, and as noted, this is neither atypical nor unexpected for Europe. It is located on a quiet, but dirty, street and not too far from the Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is surrounded by welcoming cafes and is in a desirable tourist location with somewhat convenient metro stops in the area. This hotel was amazingly priced for its location near the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysee. It was also very close to the stop for the Air France bus which goes to Charles de Gaulle airport. The metro stop was not too far away either. The front desk was helpful and no one seemed to mind when we came back too late. They were also very accomodating for a group of my friends whose reservation had been lost.

Phenominal location. Great for the money. Nice, and very friendly staff. The hotel is in a prime location with easy access to the M1 metro line. The hotel includes breakfast and is a typical old style European hotel. It is great for a taste of Europe but a step away from the modern America. Hotel has all necessities necessities and A/C. Bathroom was smaller than I expected, and I've been to Europe many times. Overall this hotel is a great place to stay for those looking to get a pleasant "bang for the buck." Would stay again.

Me and my hubby stayed in Star Hotel Etoile just recently. The room is small which is typical of Europe standards but very cozy. The hotel is at a fairly good location at the CDG Etoile Metro (Ave Carnot exit). It is about 10 mins walk to Champ Elysee which is ideal for shopaholics. The room is very clean with clean towels. The staff in the Hotel were very helpful and friendly. They are very willing to give directions and search for required information you need. We highly recommend to all who are planning a visit to Paris.

Just returned from a six night stay at this hotel. It was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and they spoke English as well. The room was clean, the beds were surprisingly comfortable, the bathroom was bigger than expected. The one thing I wished was that the comforters looked cleaner than they did - couldn't tell if they were actually dirty or just old. There were three of us in the room. Stayed at Star Hotel Etoile for three nights (7 - 10 March 05). We found it an excellent hotel for the price band. The hotel is situated on a quiet street about a 3 minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe and the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. The room was a good size and very clean, the staff were extremely friendly. We did not have the breakfast (12 euro) as we found a cafe near by (down the street and turn right) with fresh croissant and coffee for 2.50 euro. We stayed here for 3 nights from Friday 11 Feb through to Monday 14 Feb. I think its all been said before, a very nice hotel in a very good location a couple of minutes walk from the Arc Du Triumph! We booked two triple rooms, one came with a double bed and a single and the other came with 3 singles. We stayed at this hotel for three nights (Valentine's weekend '05) and were very pleased with the room, staff and location. As other reviewers have commented it's only 2 minutes walk to the nearest metro station (and buses 30 and 31 from Avenue Wagram close by will take you to Gare du Nord if you are travelling with Eurostar - I found that the buses can sometimes take less time than the metro).
