Solid hotel in a great neighborhood
My girlfriend and I stayed two nights. We immediately fell in love with the neighborhood. Lots of cute little shops and cafes and a very nice, though slightly pricey, supermarket with great meat/cheeses/breads. In addition, the hotel was fairly close to Notre Dame/St. Germain Du Pres/the Musee D'Orsay, though a little far from the Eiffel tower. As for the hotel itself, the people at the front desk were very helpful (though the night manager spoke no English) and went above and beyond to help me find a place to change American... more
Cozy
The room was tiny and overlooked a fairly busy street, but the AC meant that the window could stay shut at night. While the wallpaper was tired, the bath appeared to have been recently redone. The shower boasted some of the best water pressure I've encountered in years. The rooms had charming beamed ceilings, but they are very low. Anyone much over 6 feet tall could bump a head on the door to the bathroom.
Perfect Location
The neighborhood this hotel is in, is perfect. Quiet and quaint. We walked everywhere from here, with one exception. Montmatre was one Metro ride away. The hotel itself was nice. The bedroom was pretty small. But it served it's purpose, sleep and shower. We even had breakfast in our room a couple of times. Very prompt and good. The hotel day staff was very friendly. With our broken french they helped us in any way they could. We would definitely stay here again.
A Very Nice hotel in a Loverly Neighbourhood
We stayed at the Sevres Saint Germain Hotel, for 3 nights between 21st to 24th June 2007 we really loved the hotel and will now use it when we return to Paris. The hotel its self is very nicely decorated and the reception staff spoke English very well and were patient with my very poor french. Our room was on the first floor with a loverly street view we had a double bed and although it was on the smallish side it was still very comfortable and we got a good nights sleep each night, we went bothered by outside noise or guest moving around... more
Quaint neighborhood hotel
I've stayed in this small hotel several times and think that it represents good value for money in what is usually a very expensive neighborhood. The property has charming beamed ceilings and friendly staff. The rooms are pleasant enough though could use a bit of updating if you look closely enough (such as the carpets) but the bathrooms are all clean and modern. The breakfast is not a very good value but there plenty of places nearby to grab a croissant and coffee.
Reasonable Sevres Saint Germain
We stayed at Sevres Saint Germain for 4 nights. As somebody already said, this hotel is not really in the heart of things. It's several blocks aways from the Boulevard St-Germain and the popular cafes and restaurants. The public areas are not too bad and at first sight the place looks almost inviting, especially in the evening. The rooms are (as so often in these small hotels) just too small to be comfortable for two adults with luggage. The bathroom was nothing special, and I can say the same about breakfast. The carpet in the... more
Lovely hotel
This is a lovely hotel in a great area - still within St Germain and easy access to the delights of that area and the Latin Quarter, but slightly out of the really touristy bit which is great. At the end of the street is the Bon Marche department store and its oh-so-wonderful food hall. The room we had in the Hotel Sevres was comfortable, clean and elegantly furnished. We didn't try the breakfast - too many good patisseries and boulangeries nearby. The staff were helpful and polite. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.
lovely hotel
My family and I spent 8 days in Paris. This staff were excellent, very friendly and warm. They gave us a fantastic first impression of Paris. Great location, the restaurants around the area were very good. Shopping is fantastic (Bon Marche), the grocery is fantastic as well. The rooms were a bit small but charming. Will definitely stay here when we visit Paris again.
Excellent value, good location
We stayed here in August 2003, and are returning June 2005. It is a real find, recommended by a friend who lived nearby. Air-conditioned rooms, private baths, TV, nice staff, unobtrusive service. It's not fancy, and the dining is limited, but it is clean and reasonable (105 euro per night, which is really excellent for Paris). If your budget doesn't extend to the George V, and you are planning to immerse yourself in Parisian restaurants, cafes, bars, sights, etc, this is a great place to come home to at night. 3 minute walk to nearest... more
A very fine small hotel
We had some trepidation going into our first Paris trip, with a limited sense of neighborhoods and reading of small rooms at high prices everywhere. The Sevres St. Germain served us very well. At 118 Euros/night it wasn't cheap in the absolute sense, but for a 3-star hotel in a good location it was a fine deal. (Note: a review link on this site calls this place a B&B, but it isn't -- it's a small hotel). The location is a bit of a trade-off: it's southwest of the dense restaurant & cafe section of St. Germain (although there are a... more
