Le Faubourg Sofitel Demeure Hotel

Stayed here sometimes when others are full. Nice location, just off Faubourg St Honore. Street is blocked off for security by police. Lovely hotel opposite Buddha bar, Sofitel run, boutique type feel. Excellent standard. Upper type rooms very very nice. Normal rooms small and a bit dated but clean and fine. Beautiful bar, small though, lovely cocktails. Great location, pricey but worth it. Good balance between a big and a cosy hotel.

Second (business) stay - and hotel remains a good combination of scale (ie; not too large) and quality (espec. excellent front desk staff). More a boutique feel to it than at the adjacent Crillon, for example and feels very discrete. I would underline previous comments that you really need to be in the courtyard rooms; I was in a smaller room this time than last (which was 301 - a good size), but it was still ok for a one night stop. Very small single room, the bathroom was actually same size as the bedroom! Also no door between bathroom and bedroom. Location is very good and its a very modern and clean hotel.

The trumps of this hotel are its location and the bedrooms in the upper categories. I recently had a courtyard-facing junior suite that was large and well appointed (including a Bose stereo and a full set of Hermès toiletries). Common areas, restaurant and fitness are ok but do not stand out like the rooms. Breakfast buffet is rather plain, and I chose to have breakfast across the street at Le Crillon or a short walk away at Le Bristol (buffet in the garden). We have just come back from our fourth stay at this quietly elegant hotel which is conveniently situated near the Place de la Concorde, and within easy walking distance of the Madeleine, and many fine designer shops. It is a shame that the most recent reviewer did not request a quietly situated room, which I always do, wherever we are staying. This time we had a junior suite on the 7th floor. I very much liked this hotel - it had a definate character about it, with comfortable seating areas of all different types and a nice restaurant for breakfast with charming staff. We had a Junior Suite which was lovely - wonderful high ceiling, a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and beautiful decor. However, it faced the road and at 5 in the morning the rubbish collectors arrived. Followed by the bottle collectors. Stayed at Le Faubourg for 3nts at the end of Jan 2006 and couldn't be happier. Although our Junior Suite was on the 1st floor and faced the street, the room was still extremely quiet (the road is blocked off from general traffic as the US Embassy is almost next door). Junior Suites are spacious with a small sitting area included. Cleverly thought out TV swings from sitting area to the bed. Lovely floor to ceiling windows which open. I loved the hotel with its amazing location and ever so helpfull staff. The hotel is small and intimate - rooms very nice, though our wasn't very spacious. But our bed was confy and the bathroom stunning. We are going back next weekend and staying at "our" hotel. Cannot wait!!

I stayed at this hotel for about 6 days. The service there is great. The only problem we had with things was that our room cards kept messing up. They would stop working for some reason. But this was quickly fixed. The room was beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable thing I've slept in. It was a feather mattress or something. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The Sofitel La Faubourg is fabulous -- but expensive. The hotel is literally behind the US Embassy, and 1/2 block from the Place de Concorde and / or the Rue St. Honore (fashion district - great shopping). It is very centrally located (walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre, Jardin de Tullieries, Musee de Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Opera, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee etc...)
