Value for Money
We stayed at this hotel for a short break and found it to be overall satisfactory for our needs. It is well located for the Grande Arch de la Defense and Esplanade de la Defense stations (5-10min walk to either) and the RER line from the Grande Arch de la Defense took us into the town centre in 10mins. The area immediately around the hotel was fairly quiet and residential, and so there are not many attractions apart from La Defense. There is a very good restaurant nearby called La Taverna, with great food and lovely staff. The room was... more
Nice Hotel
This is truly an excellent Hotel! Great location, Clean rooms and a breakfast to die for. Merci beaucoup!
Nice Hotel to stay a weekend
Small rooms but clean. The bed was good. Personel was friendly and spoke english. Good and complete breakfast. We've enjoyed our stay.
Good Value
My partner and I used an air miles special offer for two nights using Eurostar and staying at Le Dauphin Hotel in La Defense. We were really concerned about being out of the centre of Paris and having recently not stayed anywhere below five star were a little anxious. We were very pleasently suprised. The hotel was a short walk from the excellent metro (much better than the london underground)and everyone was lovely to us. We ate a hearty breakfast and it was nice to see a different side of Paris. The restaurant next door - an italian... more
Horrible Hotel
We, (my girlfriend and I) travelled to Paris for new years eve 2004. On arrival we were greeted by a tiny reception area with a rude check in clerk, we were given the key to our room and made our way up in the tiny elevator. Room - TINY(even by european standards), very out dated, dark and dingy, the hallway outside the room was smokey and the walls are very thin. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was barely enough room to move around the room. Location - bad! The hotel is situated in a run down area on the... more
Don't go there!
Firstly - the hotel my partner and I had originally booked was the "Princesse Isabelle Hotel". What we did not realise until we arrived was that "Le Dauphin" [which is across the street from the Princesse] is owned by the same company, and for a reason which was never explained to us [because the staff are very good at a) suddenly not understanding our French in the middle of a conversation b) not being able to speak English when it suits them] we were placed there instead. Unlike the Princesse, it had no air... more
Loved It!
If you haven't been to Europe you need to understand everything here is smaller from the cars and streets to the hotel rooms (so don't be shocked by the size.) With that said this place was great! We stayed at this 3 star hotel for only 54euro (approx. $66) this was reserving the night before our trip. The walls were beautifully decorated in wooden panels. The rooms were very clean and carpeted, and looked out to a little garden terrace. (If you drive) There is no parking lot but the staff will take you to the parking garage where you can... more
Wonderful
Stayed here with my husband for just one night and wish we'd stayed longer. The hotel is just out of Paris across the river which makes it peaceful and about a third of the price of city center hotels. However only a ten minute walk to the nearest metro which is a direct line to The Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, The Louvre and all the main sights. The Metro takes about five - ten minutes to get to the city center. This metro line also runs until 1.30am which makes it easy to get back from a night out. The area of La Defense is... more
La Dauphin - nightmare
We made reservations with Le Dauphin through a reputable Dutch booking firm, which is guaranteed a certain number of rooms per night with the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, however, we were told that there was no room for us, despite the reservation confirmation number we had. The hotel did not help us find another hotel, although they obviously over-booked. I would not trust this hotel. The hotel is located in a modern, sterile, remote section of Paris. It was difficult to find the hotel from the nearest metro station and a long... more
okay le dauphin
stayed here in august 2004 it is quite a way out of paris the nearest metro le defense esplanade is a good 10 minute walk away the hotel itself was ok for the price we paid rooms are very small could do with updating buffet breakfast is very good better than some 4* the staff were very helpful but would not stay here again as it is to far out of central paris especially getting back at night
