K&K Cayre Hotel

Although the hotel was Central Paris 4*, room only costing £170 per night, we had to ask to be moved to another room. The first one we were given had a lift shaft right behind the bed wall! The noise was awful as the lift whirred up and down and we knew we would not sleep well. They did move us with no fuss whatsoever, but it had to be into a smaller room.
We decided not to have the Buffet breakfast at the cost of £16 each! Considering that neither of us have much more than orange juice and toast each morning, we decided to find an alternative - fortunately there was a drinks 'fridge' in the room and so we bought orange juice and melon, making a coffee or tea from the in-room machine.
The good points were the air conditioning throughout the hotel and the extremely well mannered and helpful staff. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was located in St. Germain des Prés, just 2 minutes walk from a Metro station and 10 minutes to the Left Bank of the River Seine.
Overall, it was so expensive and although fully modernised with rooms decorated in contemporary design plus a good location, it was not good value for money.
