very small nice but clean
We had no complaints about this hotel certainly nothing that has been described in the previous reviews, the hotel was very clean but the rooms are very small but i guess you dont mind as your not in them often anyway ! It is approx 20 min walk to the arc de triomphe, the hotel is located in a quiet area off the main villiers rd. with metro station approx 10 mins away there are some supermarkets and a few restraunts nearby
Seen better, seen worse
While I can't say that I would recommend this hotel, I don't have any serious complaints either. We've traveled Europe extensively, and this is certainly not one of our best lodging experiences. We actually did not choose this hotel, but were booked here when our original hotel overbooked. The location is ok--a 5 min. walk to the metro, but on a run-down alley. The rooms are very small (even by european standards) and not at all attractive. There was air conditioning though, which was a very nice, and welcome surprise. The room smelled... more
Mixed review
We had already booked this hotel and then found the tripadvisor site listing a range of reviews. We are a couple who travel through Europe regularly on both city break and longer stay holidays. Overall the hotel is good value for money although whether it is a true 3 star is open to question. The location is quiet, on a side street, and is in a quite affluent area with no apparent dangers to speak of. The area does not have many tourist attractions close by, eg. the Arc de Triomphe was a 25 minute walk and similarly for the Sacre... more
Cute, pink little room - nice neighborhood
After reading such mixed reviews about this hotel, I wanted to add my 2 cents. My cousin and I stayed here for 5 nights in late July 2004. We really enjoyed the place. The room was cute - tiny, but clean and fresh. I couldn't roll my suitcase into the room since there wasn't enough space between the bed and the bathroom wall! But, I only had to lift it once. No big deal. the bathroom was clean and new. We had big windows and a nice view of the residental street. We paid around $80/night and felt that was a great deal. The location... more
Dubious....
Ok Terrible might be a teeny bit strong...but... Stayed here in summer 2000. We booked a triple room, so it was quite large - but it was on the top floor (attic room?) and somewhat had the appearance of maids' quarters. What was appalling though, was there was no plug for the bath - which wouldn't really matter - had there been a proper shower attachment, i.e. one which attached to the wall. What was more shocking was the bed bugs! Unlike the other reviewer (who saw them!!!!) i woke up on the second day (of seven) to find several itchy... more
beautiful place
I was a little wary after reading the reviews here but the place is beautiful the staff are extremely helpfull and I thouroughly enjoyed my stay. the rooms are very pretty and comfortable and very clean as was the bathroom. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel and would especially reccomend it to couples.
What's the problem
We were a party of four who stayed at this hotel at the end of May. In short the place was a little gem. Small rooms I grant you but nicely decorated with large and comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The staff were polite and very helpful and the breakfast was great - lots of choice. Will definately stay there again.
Overall a nice place to stay
We couldn't disagree more with the previous review, we stayed at the same time, between 10th and 14th of July, 2004. We found the hotel staff to be very helpful and polite, particularly the manager who was informative and courteous. The room was clean and was well kept, with towels changed and bin emptied everyday. Air conditioning was fantastic, something we weren't expecting from a 3-star hotel. The room was smaller than average, but it wasn't really a problem. The downfall of the room was lack of storage space, as there were... more
Don't stay here!
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! We have just returned from our trip to Paris (back in London) and our experience at this hotel was the only drawback of our holiday. We didn't have high expectations given the cheap cost of this accomodation. After all, when visiting a city that has so much to offer, all we really expected from our hotel was a decent place to sleep. We arrived and the room was extremely small (as we expected), the shower broken, and everything was extremely poorly renovated. Honestly, we could have looked past all of... more
Nice place to stay
Hotel Glasgow is a nice, clean hotel for the price. The hotel is around the corner from a local bus stop (L'Arc de Triumphe in about 10 minutes) and a 10 minute walk to the Villieuve Metro station. Rooms are well appointed and clean, however if you have large suitcases I suggest asking for a room in the front part of the hotel where the lift is. The rooms at the back of the courtyard are walk-up without a lift. Rooms in the back of the courtyard also don't have air conditioning, but it wasn't really needed as the nights were cool for... more
