Floride Etoile Hotel

We stayed here on 29th December 2006 for 3 nights. The hotel was easy to find and only a 10 minute walk from the Trocadero Metro station. The hotel staff were really helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double room on the fifth floor facing the front of the hotel. From our room we could just see the top of the Eiffel Tower. The room was on the small side but with a good sized bathroom which had recently been refurbished. The shower didn't work very well though. I spent two nights at the Floride Etoile Hotel and tried out two different rooms as my mother was joining me for the second night. The first room, a single, was smallish but had a huge, beautiful shower room and the second, a twin, was on a higher floor and had a little balcony. Both rooms were exquisitely clean. (American travellers, please realise that Parisian rooms are on a smaller standard!) Me and my partner have recently got back from The Floride Etoile and had a brilliant time! The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome and will go out of their way to help you ie. we bought champagne from a shop and the man on reception (not sure of his name) got us an ice bucket with ice and glasses without us asking! While not a luxury hotel by any means, Floride Etoile is a great deal, just a couple blocks from the Champs Elysee, basically between the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower (although closer to the Arc). Rooms are very small, perhaps only 10x12. Certainly, only two can stay in a room. By American standards, this might be unacceptable, but this is normal for a city hotel in Europe. The rooms were very clean, and the service at the front desk was wonderful. A nice continental breakfast was included in our rate.

I stayed with my girlfriend in a double room for two nights at this hotel for a special rate of 99 Euros per night in late February 2006. The good: The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was clean and in good condition. The bathroom was very large and again very clean. This was a great location and there is a very handy little market down the street. The bad: The room was very small. My wife and I live in California and we just returned from our European trip on November 27, 2005. We stayed at the Floride Etoile for three nights. I thank all of my fellow reviewers for their comments, without them we probably would have chosen a hotel of a lesser caliber for the same price. Upon arrival we were greeted pleasantly by the hotel clerk, who spoke fluent english. Check in was quick and normal. From the wonderfully warm welcome we received as we walked in the door to the moment we left, this hotel did not dissapoint. The rooms aren't huge and the views from the rooms are non existent but for cleanliness, price, location, friendly staff and the price, this hotel is hard to beat. The Italian restaurant on the same street is also worthy of a mention, especially their bruschetta!, but equally unworthy of a mention is the chinese restaurant on ave. Kleber. you've been warned!

I really just want to add to the experiences of the other people who have reviewed the hotel. Everything they have already said is true. The grocery store is a real bonus with anyone who has a small child with them. The rooms were good size. The foyer and the breakfast area I though were alittle on the small side, but it served its purpose well. This hotel is about a mile south of the Arc de Triumph in the business and diplomatic district of Paris. One block south of the Boissere metro stop on a quiet side street. During the day it is very busy in general area, but at night it calms down considerably. Very easy access to Etoile/Charles de Gaulle metro stop. This is an excellent hotel if you don't want to spend too much, but want something nice in a good location. The room was a little small, but after traveling through the rest of Europe, I realized they must be everywhere! The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Arch de Triumph, and there's a subway stop (bossiere) right around the corner. We were very pleased with the location as we could walk to most places. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.
