Austins Arts et Metiers Hotel

A great little hotel, which was spotlessly clean & very quiet at night. Staff were really friendly, spoke good English and were always helpful. The only drawback was the breakfast room which was very small but to be honest that was the least of our worries. It really is within walking distance to Notre Dame, Pompidou Centre & the Louvre. The metro is right outside & there are lots of nice bars & restaurants around. Leonardo's was well worth a visit & its just across the street. A great little hotel in a fab location, well worth a visit.

Lovely hotel in a really convenient location. Very friendly staff and rooms were spotless. My only problem was that there was that the breakfast room was very cramped, to move about you had to squeeze past other guests.

This is a little gem in the Marais literally 50 paces from the gorgeous Arts et Metiers metro station. The rooms, decorated a la Provence, are small but lovely, comfortable and *immaculate*. Windows and lamps provide lots of light and there are several electrical outlets. The bathroom is bright and the shower has plenty of hot water. The hotel is nicely located near the metro so access to anywhere in Paris is good. Breakfast room small so if the hotel is full you may have to wait we didn't seem to find this an issue though. The room we had didn't have air conditioning, so we had to leave a window open which made for a noisy sleep. Staff friendly and helpful.

I stayed at this hotel in September 2004. It’s a small hotel but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Just opposite the hotel there is the metro which connects you to wherever you want to go in Paris. It’s also quite in the centre and once during the night we took a night bus to the centre and then walk it to the hotel which is not so far away. The staff try to do everything to help. Just returned from Christmas holidays (12/22-31, 2004) and stayed at the Arts et Metier Hotel. Room was typically small but immaculate. Quiet and very convenient to the Metro...literally 1/4 block. Safe and lots of shops and cafes in the neighborhood. Breakfast 7 euros at the hotel, so we went to local cafes. Very pleased and will return. Got great hotel price on ratestogo saving about 50 euros a night.

I was there for 4 nights for SATA congress in June (therefore, we paid a special rate). Breakfast was good, but room was small, when it is crowded, you may have to share table with someone else. Room was clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Here is the negative part: One day I forgot to take my cellphone with me. When I received a phone bill from my phone company, I found several phone numbers, which belonged to Paris numbers. I assume that a room service person used my mobile phone. We stayed three nights last week at the Arts & Metiers and would definitely return. The hotel is conveniently located steps from a Metro station, but is too far from major attractions to walk to them. The room was shockingly small with no view, but very clean, well furnished and quiet. The hotel has apparently been recently renovated and was very up to date. Stayed for 4 nights in Sept 04. Front rooms best. 6th floor rooms have character. All back rooms look out onto scruffy central area. Rooms clean, bathrooms modern, practical & sparkling. Breakfast room small but well run. reception always helpful. Metro on the doorstep helps you to get around easily. Centrally located and easy to reach most places of interest. Decent restaurants are accessible by Metro. 15 min taxi ride from Gare De Nord.

Stayed at Austin just after New Years 2004. Really a great spot, quiet, clean, good staff, three steps from Metro and walking distance to everything in the Marais. Excellent breakfast. Definitely would return. Got a very good rate thru Rates2go.
