" AB FAB "

Me and my family went to marinda gardens this year and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The food was fantastic, the entertainment staff were lovely and so easy to talk to, they all had time of day for you. The bar staff were also brill, we just didn't want to come home. My children are 13 and 11 and no matter what the age this is a must holiday and we would definately book again. The harbour is a short walk and well worth the visit at night time, lots of bars and restaurants. This is a defo ten!!!!!

Advice: Lovely clean beaches and lively nightlife

Activities: The harbour at Cala n Bosch with many bars to choose from

Good for: Beach

" brilliant "

we stayed at the marinda gardens for 2week, its really good for familys, couples and groups. the rooms are spotless as they get done every day apart from a sun and wed. all the staff are really helpful and most of them can speak english really well, evening entertainment is crap as it was games night every night i dont know if that was just because it was end of season i dont know. if u are going to menorca i would advise you to go all inclusive as the island is expensive. Its a very lovely island and we met some amazing people cant wait to return. xx

Advice: there are boat trips where u can snorkle wiv the fish costs 15euro was good

Activities: the best places for eating was leli's restaurant, chaplins bar and nou port thats the 3 best places

" Value for money "

We have just returned from 2 weeks stay at the Marinda Gardens. Like others we were a little concerned about some of the previous reviews, but we found that the apartments were what we expected for a 3 star. The main thing is that they are clean and in a great location. The apartment that we stayed in could do with a face lift and there is very little room to cook if you like doing that kind of thing on holiday. The pool area is quite large and we always got beds. The entertainment team both during the day and at night were very good and everyone was helpful and friendly. The marina area is really good with a wide selection of good quality eating establishments. Go to chaplins if you want a laugh but watch out for low flying trays. Taking everything into consideration the accommodation and hotel were adequate but the resort is excelent.

" Excellent!!! "

Travelled with 2 adults and 2 children (aged 3 & 6). We have just returned from a week's holiday at the Marinda Garden. It was fantastic! A great location for a family holiday. We were a bit concerned about some negative reviews we had read but like most of the recent reviews we had nothing to worry about. On arrival Aldi Travel had not passed on our booking but the staff at the hotel did everything they could to provide us with accomodation. The pool was great for the kids with plenty of room. The "experience" entertainment team worked so hard all day and night to keep children and adults entertained. The children loved them. The food was great with a large and varied choice. Always fresh and hot. You can always find something for even fussy eaters like myself! Yes, the accomodation is quite basic but has everyting you need. The cleaners come 5 days a week and do a fantastic job.The sofa beds very comfy. Overall we had a great time and can not find fault with anything at the Marinda Garden. Unfortunately my daughter took ill on the day we were due to leave so the Insurance company found me accomodation at the Princess Playa Hotel. Yes, the Hotel is alot more modern than the Marinda but I found the general atmosphere quite unsettling and the staff were rude. I definately preferred the Marinda! We would definately recommend this hotel to anyone and will return again soon. Would recommend the all inclusive package as eating out in Cala'n Bosch is pricey!

Advice: Been to Cala'N Bosch twice and still loved it!

Activities: The Aqua Park a great day out.

" awesome "

the pool was great and so were the reps, the food was very good especially the prawns and the garlic mayonnaise. there was loads of great activites for kids and the reps were really entertaning and making sure that the kids get involved with everything, the staff were friendly and very helpful and it wasn't hard to find your way around. the beach was in great walking distance. the arcade was not hard to find and was very fun. if you didn't want to eat from the resturant then there was a place where you could grab a hot dog and chips and also some ice cream to help you cool down. this place also did fantastic drinks and was not far away from the pool it also had a place where you could sit down. i recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice break and i would go back anyday.x

" Fab holiday but WARNING! "

Thought I would take the time to write my first holiday review as had booked the Marinda Garden, read other reviews and was slightly worried. Booked the holiday with Aldi Travel and paid £1800 for 11 nights half board which didn't think was too expensive. Travelled with my husband and two daughters, 13 and 9. I had asked for and got an upstairs apartment. OK the apartment was a bit "quirky" I would say, but had a large bedroom and bathroom We had a very large balcony and a nice view which was great. One thing that surprised me was that it seemed a very laid back hotel and we didn't have the normal joy of having to get up at 6 am to put towels out. I think that was due to the fact the hotel was a mix of nationalities, which was nice. We stayed half board and declined the offer to go all inclusive as we liked to go out every other evening and we're not big drinkers. The food was great. The kids ate well every day, which left me happy. The restaurant was never very busy which I liked. The beach was really beautiful - superb for chilren of all ages with lovely white sand and turquoise sea. My WARNING NOTE is the glass patio doors onto the balcony. Behind the glass doors are wooden shutters. We had the patio doors closed but shutters open. Our 9 year old daughter walked into the shut patio door (it looked open) and the glass completely shattered. A huge, sharp piece of glass fell out which sliced her chin and cut her hand and foot. We took her to the medical center for patching up but it completely scared the life out of us. We felt totally sick thinking what might have happened. It doesn't really bear thinking about - bless her. There were no stickers on the patio door as is usual in hotels and it obviously wasn't safety glass !! I would hate the same thing to happen to others as it could easily have had far more serious consequences. She was lucky!
All in all though, apart from that shock of that, we had a great holiday. I think the thing with the Marinda is that at the end of the day it is a three star hotel and, yes, it could do with a bit of TLC here and there, but we didn't pay a four star price and so didn't expect a four star hotel but by the end of our holiday I loved it and think for the money we paid we did really well. The shows in the evening were OK, not fantastic but once we'd seen a couple we appreciated how hard the entertainment team worked. We liked the set out of the hotel as it gave it a village appearance. The marina was very nice and a short stroll away. We found the staff pleasant and helpful and the cleaners fab. Calan Bosch is a quiet, relaxing resort. The kids were very happy and that made for a happy mum and dad. Other holidaymakers were nice. The hotel had a nice friendly feel to it and was not at all chavvy as some hotels can be. Had a great time and hope, if you are going, you do too - just watch out for the windows !

Advice: Great for families with lovely beach.

" Outstanding "

My husband and 2 daughters have just returned from a week at the Marinda Gardens. The accomodation is excellent and very spacious i woudl recommend an upsatirs apartment though so that you hsve a private balcony I jsut emailed the hotel the week before and my request was granted.
We were all inclusive and the food was excellent and great value for money the only thing that you need to be aware of is that the pool side snacks are only avaialble between 12.00-13.00 and after that you ahve to pay(albeit you get 50% reduction).
The compelx was kept immaculate and the gardens were very well tended. There were always plenty of sunbeds and the entertainment team worked tirelessly to entertain everyone. The activities throughout the day were enjoyed by my 9 year old and by night the shows were very entertaining. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the enterntainments team and my daughter is really missing them since we returned home.
It was only a 5 minute walk into the Marina which is really nice itself with plenty of restaurants and shops. Cuidadella was a 10 minute bus ride which is also worth a visit.
Overall an excellent holiday and one which I would certainly recommend I cannot wait to go back next year.

Advice: An area for families or couples wnating a quite relaxing break

" Ideal for young families "

Just returned from staying at the Marinda Garden. After reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive about going. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The apartments were clean and adequate, although like previous reviewers, I would recommend requesting an upper floor apartment, as these have balconies. We had a ground floor one and we were lucky as our terrace was quite private, but many ground floor terraces were just at the side of the walkways and didn't have a wall around, just a paved area with a couple of chairs on, and people walking across them all day!!
The food in the hotel was nice, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. It was better than some all inclusives that I have stayed in.
Entertainment throughout the day was good, with entertainers hosting football games, rifle shooting, table tennis tournaments etc.
The evening entertainment was ok, with a couple of good shows on. The young children were catered for with a mini disco every night. We however were holidaying with two teenagers, and there wasn't much to keep them amused on an evening - perhaps a teenage club would have been good, where they could hang out and do there own thing.
The pool area was a bit of a let down, and not as big as the photos would lead you to believe. For a complex of that size, it could have done with a pool area twice the size. The pool was often overcrowded, and it was impossible to swim in it due to the number of lilos and toys in there.I know we were there at peak times and you should expect it to be busy, but it just wasn't big enough. The sunbeds however were plentiful and surprisingly comfortable.
Staff at the complex were very friendly, no problems there.
We enjoyed our holiday, the accommodation, location and food were all very good, so if you have booked to go -enjoy.

Advice: Beautiful place, lovely marina and beach.

Activities: Water park at Cala n Blanes is worth a visit -especially if holidaying with children.

" great holiday "

We have just returned from a very enjoyable family holiday at Marinda Garden. It is located close to the centre of the resort, which has restaurants and shops situated around an attractive marina. The nearest beach is a short walk from the marina.
Marinda Garden provided clean and comfortable accomodation and has a large swimming pool area.Sun-beds were easily available and the pools(x3) were suitable for all age groups, with young children having their own shallow pool.
Thomas Cook kids club was well-run thanks to Cat, Danni and Russell. The hotel's entertainment team provided a fantastic service for children too, with a mini-club and other activities on offer during the day. They also excelled themselves every evening with a mini disco and then family entertainment, including some very enjoyable shows.Special thanks to Susanna, who was so friendly and worked hard day and night to ensure that we were well entertained.
We found Thomas Cook rep Dennis very helpful too.
The restaurant was very clean and food was varied, fresh and of a very high standard.
All staff were friendly and efficient throughout the complex.
My only negative comments are about the general shabbiness of the complex, which made it less attractive in my opinion than some neighbouring hotels. The garden and recreation areas are unkempt and the kids club accomodation, and childrens playground, also look scruffy. Those staying in ground-floor appartments have no choice but to hang towels and washing out to dry in what are essentially public areas, because of a lack of privacy around their appartments. With the complex full by the end of our stay this added to the unattractive appearance of outside areas. However overall a very family- friendly complex and resort.

" the best holiday ive had "

hi just got back from marinda gardens and what can i say ive just had the best holiday,we were worried at first after reading some bad reviews.two weeks before departure i emailed the hotel to ask for a upstairs apartment, which we got.the apartment was basic but very clean.the hotel staff were great every request was met. if offered to upgrade to all inclusive take it its well worth it!! we started as self catering and try the restaurant out before we upgraded. the pool was lovely and you could get a sunbed at any time, the hotel entertainment team were fab and worked from morning to night keeping kids and adults enertained, from water polo to treasure hunts.the thomas cook kids reps were fantastic thank you russell, danielle and cat. my kids loved you and they kept the kids entertained through the hot afternoons.its a short walk to to the marina with all the restaurants and if you have kids try out goody goodys for the day that well worth it morning for the all day pass. all in all the best holiday we have had especially as the kids were well entertained and that made a relaXING HOLIDAY FOR US. Kids ages 4 and 9

Advice: fantasic fam,ily friendly holiday

" Highly recommended "

This was our second time visiting Cala'n Bosch and we chose the resort again as we found it very child friendly and very picturesque and convenient. The resort itself is superb; nightlife and restaurants are based around a large marina. There is a resident "band" (2 men) that perform in the square each night and there are various bars that have live music. We found eating out a difficult choice as there are so many good places to eat! We did not have a bad meal anywhere!! I would recommend you try as many places as possible!
As per other reviewers, I was sceptical and somewhat concerned at what we were letting ourselves in for when booking at the Marinda Gardens. We were very pleasantly surprised. We booked self catering and on arrival were offered to upgrade to all inclusive or half board or just drinks. As the resort has so many great restaurants we felt we would be missing out of we took this option. We were given a 1st floor apartment with a large balcony. As commented on in previous reviews, the lower ground apartments had very small outside areas that could not be called a balcony as it was basically a tiled piece of floor with barely enough room for 2 or 3 chairs. There were no railings on some and it was not private at all. We lucked out by having an upper floor apartment. We were overlooking the outdoor entertainment which was not a problem as the double glazing did a very good job. The rooms were quite spacious. What I didn't like was the fact that the main bedroom had two single beds pushed together. It would have been nice to have a double! Our two children slept on the bed settees in the living room and they were perfectly happy. The self catering facilities were adequate. A kettle and toaster and microwave were provided. There was a t.v, phone and hairdryer in the room. The cleaners came 5 times a week and the rooms were thoroughly cleaned-they did a great job and nothing was too much trouble. The pool area was large and we had no trouble getting sunbeds. I cannot say what this would be like in peak season but there were loads of beds that had not even been put out. The pools and pool area were kept very clean. The entertainment staff were a Godsend! They worked very hard during the day by having a mini club in the morning and a kids club in the afternoon. They were constantly around the pool area encouraging parents and children to take part in various activities.I must thank Susana for being so patient with my 2 1/2 year old! We ventured out most nights but we did catch the kids mini disco a couple of times, casino night and the parrot show. There were shows and live music too so plenty for everyone. The prices at the bars and snack bars were average but the shop on site sold ice-creams cheaper than the snack bar, so we bought them there instead! What I found strange was the fact that the Marinda Gardens was All Inclusive, half board and self catering. We noticed that the all inclusive status was being abused as people were getting things for self catering holiday makers. My experience with all inclusive usually meant that you had one drink and one plate of food at a snack bar, but here they had no problem giving as much as 4 at a time!!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Marinda Garden and would happily book again. Although I would be disappointed if we had a ground floor apartment purely because of the lack of patio and privacy.

Advice: Great family friendly resort with great restaurants. Hoping to return again next year!

Activities: Take the Cala'n Bosch train around the resort or take a bike ride if you feel more energetic!

" fantastic holiday "

hi we have just got back from miranda gardens and had a fantastic time!! their were 10 people in our party 6 adults and 4 kids aged 12, 10, 8 and 18 months, the entertainment caters for all ages throughout the day and night, it did stop a little too early for us but we found a great karaoke bar up the road called big apple worth visiting for some laughs. The maids are fantastic the rooms are very clean and towels changed everyday too, the only let down for me was that the all inclusive snacks stopped between 2.30 till 7pm which is a nightmare when you have kids, where we have been all inclusive before they have served snacks in between meal times so you can always get a snaack! But it hasnt put us off would definately go back there, and recommend to others too. The Hotels entertainment team were fantastic especially Nathan and Alex tried to get everyone involved.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and had some great laughs, thanks to all the staff at miranda!!!!!

Advice: go all inclusive as its expensive to eat and drink especially with a family.

Activities: visit big apple for a great night

" I had read comments on this site... "

I had read comments on this site before going. It was very nice. Easy to get to and very clean. We were all inclusive and it was great for the kids!! The evening entertainment was great for the kids and not bad for the adults. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was lots of variety with the food and drink.

My Son wants to go back next year and has learnt to swim and made lots of friends.

I got it as a last minute deal and was very pleased.

" Like many others we too were a bit... "

Like many others we too were a bit worried about going to the marinda gardens after reading some of the reviews, worry not,the complex is fine,we came accross one cockroach, big deal, the apartments are clean, comfortable and a good size,do try to get an upstairs one though as they have a private ballcony. The staff were very friendly, including the bar staff, definatly upgrade to all inclusive, you'll save a fortune, the bar prices are steep but where aren't they abroad now,we paid around 420 euro which equates to 10 euro a day for an adult, well worth it.
The resort itself is lovely, especially around the marina, avoid the water park untill wednesday afternoons where the hotel do a deal for 5 euro's you can go for the afternoon which is enough to be honest, usual price 17 euro's which makes for an expensive day for a family of 4.
All in all an excellent holiday, you cant believe anyone could give it 1 or 2 out of ten,no pleasing some people i suppose, probably opposition hotels trying to put people off,we are certainly going to consider returning next year.
