WORST ALL INCLUSIVE EVER

We returned last week from a weeks holiday at the Dorian. This is the worst all-incllsive holiday I have ever encountered. The fod was cold and inedible as well as recycled and there was no children friendly options other that at 4pm each day there was cold burgers, chips and stale rolls (but no butter!!). The drinks were limited to vile red / white wine, Gin, Vodka & Raki with flat coke and orange for the children - everything else had a price tag.
Rooms were clean so fair play to the cleaners.
The dining area was open to the eliments which did not help keep the food warm. The tables were shoddy and broken chairs. The only staff in uniform were the cleaners - everyone else wore what they liked and one aiter wore the same jeans and hoody for the whole week we were there.
It might be different in high summer but I think it would be worse as everyone would be sitting on top of each other at the pool.
By all means make your own assumptions but all of the negative feedback can't be wrong.

my friend and i have just arrived back from THE DORIAN or should i say FAWLTEY TOWERS???/15th oct/22nd 2011/ we realise that it was the end of season but was not prepared for the terrible food and drink we were given. every day it was soggy salad and manky tomatoes, there were no desserts only little cakes, no ice cream, they had whole limes for dessert???? the whole week we were there we never saw one potato or very little meat, we ran out of butter one morning, when asked for more the waiter said"butter is finished", the next day the bread ran out and the same was said, the condiments were in plastic bottles and were empty and just laying around. The waiters wore hoodies and trackie bottoms., the afternoon snacks every day consisted of cold chips and cold skinny burgers.
We had cold water in our shower for most of the week, we complained but nothing was done.
The all inclusive drinks consisted of, flat coke, flat wine and cold coffee. They were reluctant to turn on the lights so we were wandering around in the dark most of the evening, it was a joke.!
the rooms are ok, the staff are nice, the hotel is in a good place, but it needs a overhaul, many people were very annoyed, its as though they dont care., we pay money and look foward to this holiday all year, it was a big disapointment

arrived at 2 in the morning a party of 22 of us,receptionist on duty did not speak any english at all took nearly two hours to check us in.bad start..
good points..leaving to go home!!!
large spacious room and very clean
well kept gardens
fabulous handyman who would do anything for you.
bad points...all inclusive awful..vodka,raki, gin and beer only very cheap coke, juices watered down and drinks served in dirty plastic glasses.
staff very rude and arragant, hotel owners attitude'don't like it leave!!'
pool area very dangerous and always slippy.
never seen pool cleaned in 2 weeks
3 of the family ended up with eye infections and 1 ended up in hospital on there return due to getting a very severe kidney infection..probably due to them washing glasses under the cold tap.
food repetitive ok if you like spag bol..
had to ask for clean towels every day..cleaner took dirty ones but never replaced them.
staff unwilling to help in any way..seems scared to speak to you.
i could go on all night...olu deniz beautiful scenery but the worst place i have ever been...stay away..not even worth the cheap price
tourists more like an inconvienience than a pleasure...
heade the warning..better off in a caravan in britain!!!

just got back from an amazing holiday in olu deniz turkey.the dorian was a friendly hotel with good staff but the manager was extremly grumpy and never smiled!!!!we arrived at the dorian at 2.00 in the morning and it was extremly quite and the gentleman at the desk was very pleasent and helpful, but on the other hand he picked up one of our cases and showed us to our room but he went so fast we couldnt see where we he was and it was really dark!!!(we found him in the end though)
Any way on to the the room we stayed in it was room 103 and was really pleasent the only fault was that 3 days before we left the air conditioning started leaking and we decided to leave it off.
Food was amazing because it was a buffet but at 4.00pm in the afternoon they served burgers and chips but everyone wanted some so it went quite quickly and took ages for the staff to bring extras!!!
Pool was ok i give it 6/10 because both of them had bits in the vents around the pool yack!!!
we didnt go far we really just stayed near the complex so we dont know much about the tourist attractions in olu deniz (sorry!)
moving on...we were led to beleive they gave us free icecream through out our visit but really we had to pay for them between 1.00 and 3.50 euros.ok if you only have a few children but if you have got a big family icecream everyday would be expensive(gosh im skint now!!!)
there was alot and i mean alot of paragliding going on in olu deniz.but we were told deaths had happened in olu deiz whilst paragliding,my daughter wanted to go paragliding but when i was told it was really dangerous i said NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! oh yeah check out insurance with the paragliders before you consider doing that!!
before i go i just want to say 3 more things, one its extremly hot in turkey!!!2 the beach down the strip is rubbish because there was an open sewer on the beach,i mean come on talk about disgusiting, and the toilets on the beach,my daughter almost threw up walking in !!!do not use them!!!!and 3 it said on a big sign DO NOT DROP YOUR LITTER!!!but there were no bins to be found for the length of the strip. thank you.hope you enjoy your holiday at the dorian.

Well where shall i start,as i have 2teenage daughters i book 2 rooms 2b next 2 each other on arriving the rep at the desk tried to give me room 113 & 132 for my daughters on asking politely for two rooms together he told me come back monday morning, with that i told him no i have paid for 2rooms 2b together he would,nt have it. So i waited till the morning & spoke to the rep.But missus had decided she wanted to move room 113 had no door lock shower broken, toilet seat broke, mould & mildew in the shower, 1/2 the lights did,nt work, wardrobe door hanging off, balcony right by speakers on entertainment floor,no lights outside door or foot path,etc.etc...this is why my missus wanted 2 move the rep got us another hotel but they wanted another £600 i had already paid £1,700 so that were,nt going to happen. So now all of a sudden they found us a famliy room 504 so ok it was fine. Now for the food area dirty disgusting fly,s-wasps-ants on the food floor sticky from spilled drinks, knive & forks dirty. Now the pool area disgusting mildew in pool, pool bar, dirty wasps always flying around due to drink spilled on bar staff never wipe or washed down the bar from night before. As for the drinks they were badly watered down glass were wash under the tap & never dried,+ if you ever complaint they just laughed & shrugged there shoulders. On telling the rep she was as much use as an ash on a motobike. By now (monday 20th sept) i was starting to get p***ed off big time.Breakfast forget it they only cater for the germanys & dutch no bacon, beans, sausages, eggs, just dry bread, ham, cheese, olives etc.etc.. Dinner absolutely crap always cold and always put out 1hour before time.On complaining to rep she told us there is nothing she could do as it was the policy of the hotel what they serve, and THOMAS COOK had just taken the hotel on so i said to her why did,nt you check this hotel out before you took it on no reply,So as far as im concerned i want a refund for one off the rooms and compensation for the holiday from HELL??? So if anyone is thinking of booking with this hotel trust me when i say don,t do it or you will regrett it 3* never not even 1*.Guess what Thomas Cook this going further News of the World-watchdog tv-if i don,t get anywhere. Fantastic and Friendly Hotel

Having read reviews after booking this hotel I was a bit nervous about going, but I came back with a very different view of the hotel.
Staff were very friendly. They did have problems speaking enginlish, but hey this is Turkey and can we all speak Turkish to them!!! Never had a problem getting a drink for any of our party (there were 5 adults and 3 children), even approaching 2300.
Rooms were cleaned EVERY DAY.
There were plenty of choices for all the meals (and there were plenty of them too).
In fact the whole group are looking to go back next year to the Dorian.
2 good sized pools and plenty of sunloungers to go round too.

We went to Turkey and loved the country - the people were happy and friendly. The Dorian staff were the complete opposite - miserable, lack of enthusiasm, rude and the rest. The food was served in an outside eating area, no cold cabinets, laid on tables, covered in flies. Same every night, chicken or spag bol. We ate out mostly so became expensive. The glasses and cups round the pool were washed under the cold tap, not dried and left on the counter. Soft drinks were watered down by the hose in the gardens and the coffee machines kept breaking down. The owner built 2 new blocks last year - what he should do is update the facilities of the hotel first to ensure his customers have a good time for their money. If you have children, dont go there. There is NOTHING for them to do.

My friend and myself have just returned from a week in the Dorian hotel, we are both 18 years old and this was our first time abroad on our own.
All of the staff were rude and unhelpful. Our room was cleaned once during the stay so we had to use the same towels for the week! We were not even getting up late so that could not be the reason.
The food did not taste fresh. You could see the kitchen from the pool as the window was left open and flies were regularly on it!! We ate twice in the restaurant and on one occasion the hotel dog walked into the restaurant and cocked his leg and proceeded to wee up the chair! The choice of drinks was very limited, beer, wine and raki. The fizzy drinks were always flat.
On the last night we returned to the hotel to collect some more money with some friends. The bar attendant escorted us up to the room with two other friends, he was really rude! When we returned downstairs the other staff were hitting the other friends. My friend (girl) and myself were upset and were crying, then one of the entertainment staff turned on her and kicked her in the back! When we complained to the manager he told us that it was our word against theirs and we could call the police but they would not do anything. Our friends parents returned to the hotel to complain but they were told the same.
The whole experience would have put us off Turkey if it was not for the fact that my parents were in another hotel within Olu Deniz which we visited, that hotel was brilliant and the staff were completely different.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We arrived in the erly hours to be told there was a problem with drainage in the 2 rooms we had booked and were transferred to another hotel for the night. Not a great start, however having spoken to other guests, it seems this is a regular occurrence (we presume to cover up over bookings!).
If you like a good night's sleep on holiday, don't stay in room 215. Opposite the restaurant, it's noisy and dark, you can hear the entertainment until the early hours (even after most have gone to bed, then the volume goes up)and then you're woken by the Cockeral at about 4.30a.m.....not very relaxing! If you don't mind constant noise. you'll be fine.
The foood isn't too bad, but it is very repetitive...and constantly being asked by the staff if i had finished whilst i was still eating became annoying. If you pause for breath or even a drink they will take your plate!
Olu Deniz itself is beautiful and i recommend the trips to the private beach, which is lovely, with a great bar that serves lovely food and has great staff. The Turkish night at the hotel is a must, very entertaining!
The staff work very hard and long hours and are nice enough as long as you are not rude to them, which many are when the one drink per person rule kicks in at 10pm. It's not their rule, they just have to enforce it!
The rooms are cleaned everyday to high standard and the hotel and pool areas are generally clean, but the flies and wasps in the restaurant are annoying.
I recommend a visit to Buzz Bar in Olu Deniz at sunset, eat in the roof top restaurant, lovely atmosphere and good food at a good price and breakfast at the Rose Garden for 5TL (£2.20ish).
Overall we had a nice holiday,Olu Deniz is lovely but i wouldn't rush back to the Dorian!
