The six of us arrived at the hotel and we were quickly checked in and after paying for the air/con , fridge and safety box all of which are essential, we went to the rooms which are basic but adequate. The hotel food is good but there is so much choice locally that you can eat at a different place everyday. The staff at the hotel cant do enough for you, they are so helpful.

We went to the falls,to see the crocs ,the dolphins and lots of other trips all of which can be arranged locally at a considerably cheaper rate than the holiday reps price, if your not nervous hire a scooter to get around on its a good way of seeing the local area

It has been one of the best holidays we have been on

Arrived 14th October for 2 weeks. Travelled independently and went to Hampi for 4 days-you must go. The 'real' India. Did Spice plantation, Elephant ride, Anjuna and mapusa markets all independent of travel rep and saved around half the cost.

Breakfast at the hotel is resolved by waking up, showering, having hotel breakfast (a snack really) then having a proper breakfast in one of the beach shacks or restaurants. Much better and much cheaper. Lui Beach Resort Hotel is a money making enterprise with great staff except the Manager who I thought was a creep. Ask Cobra about his hunting exploits! But hey, I'm on holiday.

They charge £2.50 for safe deposit and peace of mind a week. Rooms are OK, bathroom OK balcony OK but the ceiling fan very noisy. You can rent A/C . You can also rent books and buy sun cream from reception which tourists have left behind! I found this pretty petty. Candolim beach OK apart from the ship stranded off shore for the last 5 years off the beach-which causes rip tides etc. The beaches overall are great in places - filthy in others.

Goa will be like the Costa Del Sol in 5 years only worse. I loved my holiday - I just did not like Goa. India is vast and we did not even scrape the surface. Travelling around is part of the adventure but can be tiring, you must visit Hampi-FANTASTIC. But do it independently and save your money to give to the kids. It is cheap and next year we hope to travel North India.

Lui beach was absolute value for money, we stayed there for 3 weeks, and the staff and service were first class. The brochure said it was a "small & friendly" hotel and it definitely was.

The rooms have everything you need, a big wardrobe and two single beds pushed together. There was also a balcony and ample space to call home for a few weeks.

The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels and bed linen provided, we also used the laundry service which was very good value for money and meant that we went home with a case full of clean clothes!

We would definitely stay there again, as it is in a quieter part of Candolim yet still near enough to walk to many good restaurants and the beach.

We stayed at the Lui Beach Resort for two weeks in February this year, and having read some of the other reviews about the hotel I felt I had to add my comments.

When travelling in India you can either go 5* all the way and be molly coddled or you can pick a reasonable hotel like the Lui Beach and experience what the normal Indian citizen would call luxury.

The hotel is quirky! It is not a 5* joint, but we found the hotel staff and the service they provide 5* all the way. During our stay our rooms were cleaned meticulously and we had clean sheets and towels every day. The bathrooms (wet rooms) were spotless if a little jaded, and Peter, the hotel manager and his staff are jovial, friendly and just can’t do enough to help.

Everyone keeps on about the breakfast. What do you people want? We had juice, tea, coffee, and toast, and you can request eggs or omelettes cooked however you like. We ate in the hotel a couple of times ordering from the Indian section of their menu. I can’t see the point of going to India if you don’t like the cuisine!

Everything we ordered was exceptional and I haven’t found an English curry to match it yet! We also tried their burger and chips and they are to die for! Fresh burgers made with lots of coriander and chips fried in ghee! Heaven.... but not English!

The thing is if you are going to Goa because it’s cheap and you want to eat English food then you will probably be disappointed. So don't go! If you want to experience the real India with all its idiosyncrasies then try the Lui Beach. If you are not happy with your room, which we weren’t at first as it was a little small, then ask to move and Peter will do all he can to accommodate you.

If you are going to Candolim, please make sure you eat out at Bomras (Burmese restaurant) and The Silk Route. These two restaurants are absolutely fantastic. They are a little more expensive, but nothing like what you would pay for this sort of cuisine in England. We ate at both restaurants at least twice and the food is amazing!

I won't add any more although I could go on and on. India is an experience not to be missed.

We went to the Lui Beach in February this year and although the accommodation is basic, the rooms were very clean and tidy.

Breakfast was a bit on the lean side but very nice.

The staff were very friendly and keen to help in any way they could and they made sure the drinks were cold, which is always a good thing.

The food served in the open restaurant was more than satisfactory and very tasty.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay, so much so we are going back next year at the same time for 3 weeks.

The stay was pleasant and good. Though the name states that it is a beach resort it is like 250-300 meters away from the beach (Sinquerim beach).

Water sports are good in this beach, cheaper and better than the Calangute beach.

As the time which we went was the end of the season (April) the shacks and the beach hotels were closed in the Sinquerim beach, but all the same we enjoyed a lot in Baga and Candolim beach, which is like 8-10 km from the resort.

Lot of shops and hotels are available nearby. As Taj village and Aguada resorts were near to this resorts the beaches were with decent crowd.

Coming to the foods in Lui Beach Resort it will not suit the Indians, even the Indian foods were made in western style with less spices.

They say it as a complimentary breakfast where they serve just toast and a coffee, and they don’t have anything else for breakfast other than egg (might be because of the season in which we went).

Ambience is excellent and the rooms were clean and AC is ok (not so good).

Swimming pool is clean with a good maintenance and the maximum depth of 5'7'' which was best suited to play some water games and the length is not more than 100 feet.

If you want to make a holiday with little cost, this hotel is the best. A stay of 10 days will be of more fun.

If you go to Goa don’t Miss BAGA beach with good shacks and good beach.

If you are staying less than 5 days then just go to North Goa where this hotel is located and just enjoy only North Goa and Old GOA church, as the places in south Goa are very far away and you end up in travelling for a long time.

Calangute, Baga and Anjuna beaches are must visit. Try to visit Baga beach in the nights after 8 P.M you will never forget.

The Lui Beach Resort is situated in a beautiful part of Candolim, close enough to all the amenities and 2 min away from the beach.

Unfortunately the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired, the air conditioning in our room made us ill as it didn't work properly.

The pool bar which is in a lovely setting had a hidden service charge on it, and the breakfast, well the least said about that the better.

On a good note most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lovely lady on Reception.

Not a place to return to.

Upon arrival at the hotel we where greeted and quickly checked in. The staff took care of our cases and we where in our large, clean, spacious and air conditioned room within minutes.

The hotel has a small pool and is surrounded by greenery and a small pool side bar. You can put all meals and drinks from the bar on your bill to pay at the end of your stay or periodically.

There is also a beauty parlor and shop on site.

Literally a two-minute walk away you will find the stunning beach of Candolim and the invitingly warm waters of the Arabian Sea. You will find the beach entrance in between two shacks - I would recommend 'Bay Watch' for good service, food and drink.

Candolim resort centre is moments away with an array of superb, cheap dining to suit all tastes with an average 3 course meal setting you back just 4pp!

We took the Airtours excursion called 'Jungle Book' inland which takes in a Spice Plantation, followed by elephant rides, shows and a stay overnight in a traditional mud hut including meals. This was proceeded in the morning by an early morning walk through the rainforest to see the sun rising over a waterfall followed by Yoga by an ancient temple. The trip came to an end with a bamboo raft ride to an island situated in one of Goa's tropical rivers to wash and bathe with the elephants. This was a once in a lifetime, superb trip and was excellent value which contrasted with a trip to the Dudhsagar waterfall arranged with a local firm in Goa which was of a much lower standard to the Airtours excursion. I would advise you arrange all days and nights out through your tour operator for peach of mind and quality.

In conclusion, this basic, simple and friendly property was a delight to stay in and with its perfect, quiet location in Candolim, you will enjoy your stay here too!
