Had a fantatstic two weeks in this hotel made lots of friends here, everyone is really friendly from the minute we arrived, a special thankyou to Lawerence who always looked after us at meal times he was always ready to top your drinks up without having to ask.
Stayed at the sister hotel the Horizon this year, which is suppose to be a 3 star but does not compare to this hotel the staff are a lot better at the Santiago.
Will be coming back to the Santiago this year 2009 just booked and can not wait to see everybody agin.
Please do not hesitate to book this hotel, most hotels in India are very bassic but rooms are clean and the staff make up for everything in this hotel.

Submitted By: Mr P JonesThe rooms were kept spotless and nothing was too much trouble for anyone of the members of staff. The food at the hotel was excellent and a good choice was served.
We cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay at the Santiago so good that on our return to England we booked again the next day for Christmas and new year 2008/2009 The trips to the Waterfalls is well worth a visit also the coach/boat trip to Old Goa and Pajim the tour guides were excellent, we also went on the trip which took us into the jungle to stay with the elephants this was fantastic, an experience that will never be forgotten.
Our rep Simi was lovely and she made sure we were comfortable and enjoying our holiday, and she even called us to wish us happy new year, The Christmas celebrations in the hotel was good it’s something else seeing Father Christmas arrive on a push bike.
Overall had a great time and we can’t wait to go back, just to say a big thank you to all the staff. From Paul and Julie.

Submitted By: Mr MJ GreenwayI would echo the comments of fellow residents in saying that the staff (although they all become friends) are the shining star of this relaxing and laid back hotel.
The rooms are spotless because they are serviced daily.
Food is excellent, as other have commented you can get most styles here, Goan, English, (why?) Thai, Chinese. The chef in the Chinese gracefully swapped skills as we showed him how to make Irish coffees and he let us into the kitchen to make banana toffee coated rolls.
Without doubt, I will certainly aim to get to this hotel again.
I understand that the return rate is 98.7%, I can easily understand why.
A very safe place to rest too as the entrance has 24 Hr concierge.
Hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Submitted By: Mrs J LintonAlso, everyone at the hotel seemed too plagued with mosquito bites, the windows in the bathrooms did not fit so they were coming into the rooms through the spaces all around the window frame.
Although this has nothing to do with the hotel, the flights were just the basic size seats that are used for short haul flights. I would have thought that the seats should have been a larger size, the normal as it was a 10 hour flight.

Submitted By: Miss K MorgYour never in the room only to sleep and shower. Good position just off the main road and about 10min stroll to the beach, you can get taxi down to the beach for 50 rupees.
The only problem we have with Goa is we want to book again for this year and it has doubled in price, but definitely go.

Submitted By: Mrs P TregunnoMy only complaint was that the hotel is advertised as having air conditioning, which it has, but every day a member of staff was sent round to turn it off from an outside switch (obviously to save money), and when asked why it was off to be told that there is an electricity failure. When asked for a refund because it was turned off every day, it was then left on for the duration.
That is the only fault, everything else was great. Hence I have given it 9/10.

Submitted By: Miss S LambethWe could not get in the following year but went to visit, and all the staff remembered our names and come to greet us. It was the most fabulous place and that's why we are going back next year and taking our family to experience the warmth and welcome for our Wedding and Honeymoon.

Submitted By: Mr J BreenThe beach was only a 5 min walk away and the taxi service was superb and not dear. They were very good especially the jungle book where you stayed in a mud hut in the jungle, then rode elephants and also bathed them as well, you also got a trip to a spice plantation.

Advice: go go go
Activities: big bannana shack great food spice plantation trip and wash and shower with the elephants
Good for: Beach
