Cavala Seaside Resort Hotel

Stayed with a huge bunch of friends at the Cavala in Apr 2006. The place has a location advantage 5 mts from Baga beach and the rooms are decent (enough to park your bags and come back only to sleep). However, service was a HUGE disappointment. Meals are served late by ONE hour or even more from the time of ordering. Staff is curt and not responsive. In fact, like some other places in Goa, this place loves foreigners and doesnt think too highly of Indians. We could see the differential service to us as compared with the foreign guests - their meals, etc were prompt and served with a smile. Ours were LATE and served with curtness. Cancellations were not handled well too. Stay here if you want to keep your bags safe and want to be close to the beach. But do not expect much from the service staff.

I have stayed here twice. I think it is a good hotel...the staff is friendly, service efficient and the food is excellent. It is about a 5 minutes walk from the Baga beach and ofcourse has an swimming pool. The beach has some of Goa's best known shacks. The only drawback is that the hotel rooms though large and with balconies need considerable improvement. All in all I would recommend the hotel.
