Puren Hotel

I went to alanya for two weeks in july and stayed in the puren hotel. Breakfast consisted of watermelon, boiled eggs, bread, cereal, salad, tea and coffee. We ate this for the first two days and didnt have it again, it wasnt worth getting up for. The room was basic but that is what we had expected. There were quite a few things that were broken eg hairdryer, smoke detector, and the shower was pretty useless. The pool however was lovely and apart from lots of germans hogging the sun beds all day it was nice being by the pool. The hotel didnt have many english holiday makers, they were mainly german, swedish and french, we didnt enjoy this as its nice to have other people to talk to on holiday and these people were not friendly and didnt even say thank you for you opening doors for them. The staff of the hotel were lovely and very helpful, if you were by the pool the staff would take your orders for drinks and bring you your change at no charge which was nice. Our travel rep was with thomas cook, their service was good, we went on a bar crawl with all of the reps one night which was fun and a nice way to meet other people from england. The best restaurant in alanya was big ben's english pub and they did an amzing sunday roast and a free pick up service from your hotel to the restaurant. Overall the holiday was ok but i would not return again, id prefer somewhere friendlier like bodrum.
