Vatera is on a very long beach but you do hear some aircraft noise some days as it is in that vicinity. Very much an international resort but it is also used by the locals. The Aphrodite Vatera Hotel is modern with plenty of amenities, including a good swimming pool and a nice restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable and air-conditioned. a good base to explore the island of Levsos and its capital, which is not too far away. No good if you want to be surrounded by Brits!!
