Villa Romana Hotel Reviews
" Minori is a quaint charming town.... "
Submitted By: Mrs E Gerber
Minori is a quaint charming town. You definitely need to be prepared to walk up and down and on cobbled streets. The Villa Roma is charming, clean and pleasant. The rooms are pleasant with sheets and towels hung in the fresh air to dry (I loved that). The beds are firm, no pillow tops, and I slept like a log. I loved being out on the balcony and enjoying the sounds and views of village life. The food was good and plentiful with a wonderful staff to wait on us graciously. We had a fabulous stay and would return in a heartbeat.
" I have stayed in this lovely family... "

I have stayed in this lovely family run hotel many times because I find the owners kind, friendly, and helpful. Love the pool area and enjoy having lunch there. From the hotel one can walk to the beach, the restaurants, pastry shops, and the local bus stop. Minori is centrally located along the Amalfi Coast which makes day trips to the other towns easy to do. The town is unspoiled by the masses of tourists that stay in Positano, Sorrento, and Amalfi. Because it is realtively flat, it is easy to explore, as opposed to Positano, a beautiful town, but which is built into the hillside and you are always going straight up or straight down. The beach is easily accessible. (Sand is hot so bring beach shoes).
" My partner and I chose Hotel Villa... "
Submitted By: Ms Nili Feferberg
My partner and I chose Hotel Villa Romana as we had read good reviews on that hotel. On our arrival - 22.30 on Monday we got the key to our room, without any explanation of anything. The first thing we noticed about the room was loud noises from our neighbour. The lady next door was talking on the phone loudly and her voice resonated through the walls. We moved to another room on the third floor. This room was also noisy, the hotel is situated on a small narrow street, this is a busy street with constant traffic and the sound of scooters and cars was a permanent background sound for the room - indeed most rooms at the hotel overlook this road. It gets a little quieter after 23.00 but is busy again from 7.00 am onwards. This meant that we had to keep the windows closed at all times and since the air conditioning didn't work properly the room became warm and humid which made sleeping incredibly difficult. It felt like sleeping in a closed, stuffy box.
We were offered another room next to the elevator which we refused to take as the sound of guests would've also been an issue.
We heard that a local festival was due to start on Friday so we asked the manager if it's going to be a loud festival, she said that's it's not loud and will finish at 22.30. The festival was situated in several stages. Two of them were next to the entrance of the hotel, and another four a few meters up and down the street. Loud local entertainment was played from 21.30 to 24.00. If you are looking for a quiet and pleasant place to stay on the Amalfi coast, skip this hotel and village. Villa Romana don't really care about their guests they just want your money!! It's a pretty basic hotel, it has 4 stars but comparing to the 4 stars hotel we moved to in Amalfi village this should have been rated 3 stars. The village itself is boring and pretty basic with a busy residential feel to it, not a relaxing place to go on holiday.
The good thing in the hotel was some nice staff.
