great bargain
from roey
We stayed at the Nicholas park for a cheap weeks break in the first week of may. The hotel was very clean and tidy, we stayed b&b for a price of just £35 each for the week, which was excellent. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The food was very good and great value, we ate there for half our evening meals. It was a nice stroll down the sloping road into the centre of hisaronu, which took 10 mins, the walk back is uphill but you can always get a taxi £2 if you are not very mobile. The situation was worth the walk, as the views of the mountain is great, i walked out on the balcony every morning and admired it, at the end of the week i had to jump off it (paraglided) , which was wonderful. Overall would recommend to anyone young or old . A great time was had by all of the guests we were with.

Stayed at St Nicholas Park at the beginning of October having not been to Turkey before we were unsure of what to expect. However we were very pleasantly suprised. We had booked a room B&B the room was decent size lovely and clean. The bathroom was fine and again clean the only downside of the bathroom was the shower. It was a cubicle shower but it did not have a screen but a curtain so after you had a shower is was wet on the floor (so could be a little dangerous) but there was bath mat and towels you could use so it was okay for us but not sure about it for children. Also in the room you have a haridryer which I used over my travel one, full size fridge and a kettle. The towels are changed every 2 days and the bed linen every 3 days. However if either needed changing before hand they did do. I have read comments previously about the size of the balacony it is not very big but two of you can still sit out on it. With regards to the noise there was music on until midnight at the pool bar but after then you couldnt hear it and we were never disturbed by guests. We did have the breakfast there they have the usual things on. I would not recomend the full english there it its not very nice and you can get them cheaper in Hisaronu (would recomend ready steady cook its near Azda owned by an english lady and they are very nice) We didnt eat in the hotel restaurant so can comment on that. We went to their private beach on the lagoon and used their free bus service the sunbeds were 5 lira each, they have a restaurant/cafe aswell the food is reasonable (their sandwiches are good) the drinks are a bit expensive can of pop is 3 lira but we just took our own drinks. The lagoon itself does vary in colour depenant on the weather but it is very clear and the fish swim around you. It is easier to get into the lagoon rather than the sea on the other side as their isnt as many rocks in the water due to the sand in there. They also have a masseuse on the beach and she is very good. You can go to the beach yourself by getting the Dolmus (local bus service in Hisaronu) but it is more expensive its 2.50 lira each on the Dolmus if you go to the beach by the lagoon you pay another 2.50/3 lira to get in there and the sunbeds (which you need as the beach there is shingle unlike the St Nics which is manmade so is sandy) are 7 lira each. You do have to be careful going into the sea here as there are rocks and they are very slippy ( there are boards up telling you) On a night we went into Hisaronu one bar we particularly liked was Hustlers the guy who owns is very friendly and you always feel welcome. We did walk into town and back there is a bit of hill to walk back up but it is all lit up and safe enough to walk up with someone.

Loved Hisaronu

We returned on 6th July having spent 2 weeks at St Nicholas Park Hotel we loved it!! We have been to Marmaris twice and Alanya twice so we are able to give a good opinion of Hisaronu and the surrounding area. We are both 42 and have older children who did not ravel with us. We booked a late deal via teletext from Vision Holidays. No problems with the tour operator. We flew on Onur Air, big airbus plane that was comortable and offered suitable leg room. No in flight entertainmant though. Starting with the hotel.... The Nicholas group appear to be a major investor in the area. They have St Nicholas Park, St Nicholas Grove and St Nicholas Gardens as well as many other apartments and villas or sale or rent. The St Nicholas Park is set ain a good lacation about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Hisaronu. From the hotel walk down to where the road splits. Left takes you to the busy end of town, left takes you to a slightly quieter end of town. For us, left was best. The hotel has a reasonably large swimming pool, a smaller pool with 2 x water slides. Large pool bar/snack bar that provides daytime food and is where the evening entertainmant is situated. Entertainment is water ballet show, magic show, fantastic breakdance show, jugglers etc. We though they were all pretty good really. There is also a seperate 'Woodpecker bar' and seperate entertainment area (neither open when we stayed). The staff are very friendly and always helpful. There is a hotel restaurant that is very good offering an extensive menu. We stayed B&B, breakfast was the usual cheese, salad, cold meat, jam, bread but also scrambled egg and potato. The rooms are OK nothing special but suitable and kept spotlessly clean by daily service from the cleaners. The balcony is small, only room for 2 people. The air con is £20 per week, the room safe is free and there is a fridge in the room. When you walk around the grounds there are tortoise freely roaming and munching on the vegitation. There are also white rabbits running about. The hotel beach is reached via fee shuttle bus in 5 minutes. The beach is in the lagoon. It is a sand beach that is ideal for young children and we thought it was excellent. There is a £2 charge for the sunbeds. Hisaronu is much smaller and more intimate than Marmaris or Alanya. It is built near the bottom of a beautiful mountain range and a few hundred feet above sea level. This gave a slight refreshing breeze. It is based around 1 main street that is about 3/4 mile long and has many shops, bars, restaurants. It would appeal to all ages and and budgets. The generel prices are about £1 to £1.50 for a large beer, cocktails are between £2 and £4. Meals vary, you can get a deal for a drink, starter, main and after for £6 (if you can eat that munch in the meat) or most other meals are arond £5 or £6. Jeep safari is an absolute must and an real bargain, takes you to loads of places. We paid £13 each and got free boat trip!! Most of the people we spoke to were repeat customers and have been coming to this hotel year after year. Hi to all those we met and hope to see you next year, John and Tracey, Bradford.
Amazing

Having read reviews, I was expecting Hisaronu to be loud and garish appealing to a boozy sunburnt English crowd of lagerlouts. I couldn't have been more wrong. Hisaronu admittedly has its fair share of bars offering karaoke, poorly made cocktails and the general feel that once you have seen one restaurants' menu, you have seen them all. However Hisaronu is a brilliant place for families, couples and older people and I was surprised at a) how mixed the crowd was and b) how many people had holidayed there before and were visiting on their thrid or fourth trip. The St Nicholas Park hotel is one of several of the st nicholas group and we really enjoyed our self catering stay. the fact that most peoople there had been before said it all. Dont expect too much from the hotel's evening entertainment and the private beach of theirs is a bit swampy and they charge you for the sunloungers which is ridiculous. Hotel itself was excellent, clean and pool lovely. staff were excellent and welcoming from start to finish. food is cheap in the area and we really enjoyed restaurant marina mariner? next to the mosque along hisaronu main strip. excellent fish here.

Spent two weeks at this hotel on an all inclusive basis (not normally available, but our orginal hotl had been brought out by this goup and was undergoing refurbishments). All the staff were really freindly and helpful and made us feel completely at eaze. We had our 14mth old son with us, whom all the restaurant staff took upon themselves to entertain during all meals, to include pushing him around in his highchair to visit different dinners, the kitchen staff, collect our drinks or just for the sake of it, it was like having a baby sitter at every meal. Most nights entertainment was available and although the same themes each week they varied who was performing the act, only critism would be that the entertainment started bit late for young families. Each day the hotel laid on a coach to the St Nicholas owned beach down in ouldeniz next t the Blue Lagoon were you can hire a pedealo and or sun bed for the day before catching the coach back at about 4 or 5, Big tip they have a sultan sunbed avaialble (can take upto about 4 adults) and it costs the same per person on the bed as it does per person for a standard sunbed. These sultan sunbeds are under a gazebo giving great shade if you have little uns or tend to burn easily. There is about a 10 minute walk down hill to the main resort were there is a wide range of restaurants, shops and bars. The walk back up isn't too bad, we made it every night, pushing a buggy and we're both classed medically obese. At the bottom of the hill there is a taxi rank if you can't make it for any reason as well as the local bus stop to take you to either Fethyie or ouldeniz for 2.6 lira per person. We would definately consider returnpmg here again.
Fantastic

We arrived tea time and was given our room very swiftly, very pleasant staff took our cases. We stayed in a 1 bedroomed apartment which was very clean and a ground floor as requested. Some balconies are small, but we had a terrace which was ok. 2 swimming pools, 1 with 2 waterslides which kept children and even the adults amused for hours on end. The meals at the St Nicholas in the restaurant were of a good standard, resonable priced, Pool bar dinner was very good and delicious... All the staff are Fab, friendly and Funky.... brilliant with the kids... There was plenty of organised entertainment in the evening, from belly dancers, bbq's, magicians, break dancers to bingo..... Overall we had a brilliant time and will definately go back again.
Outstanding accomodation and location

My family had to book a trip to Turkey in May 2006 to attend a family wedding in Hisaronu. Previously I had never visited Turkey, and had mixed feeling about going there. What followed was one of the best holidays we have ever had. We chose the Nicholas Park apartments from First Choice, and found them to be excellent. The accommodation is situated a short walk (uphill) from the town centre, and is nestled amongst woodland, with fantastic views over mountainous scenery. On the walk to and from the hotel, the children were delighted to regularly come across wild "tortoises meandering up and down the quiet tree-lined road. Further exploration around the grounds of the premises revealed many more The staff were effecient and friendly, and the ameneties were excellent. Other members of the wedding party were staying at various other places around Hisaronu, but none that we saw could compare with this place. Most of the people we met there had been several times before, and we can`t wait to go back.
Brilliant!!!!!!

What can I say, This was probably the best holiday I have ever been on. The hotel / apartment are extremely clean (maid service every day) The staff are excellent and treat you like a friend. There is plentlyfor the kids to do, ie. football pitch, water slides If you go into Hisaronu on an evening (5 min walk) then make sure you try The Festival Restaurant. I could go on all day. If you are thinking about going then book it you wont regret it.

We stayed at the St Nicholas Park for a Two week holiday. The Hotel and grounds were very clean, Towels and bedding were changed every other day and the staff were very friendly. There was plenty of choice at the continental style breakfast. On the negative side, the balconies were very small, room for just two people to sit and no privacy into the next apartment. We had to vacate our room by 12 noon with a coach pick up at 02:40 am the next day. During this period luggage is left in the reception, with no security, leaving it available to be stolen or tampered with in your absence. St Nicholas Park would not be our first choice hotel when we holiday in the area again.
Me and my partner have just got back from a week at Nicholas Park Hotel and would go back tomorrow. We loved every minute of our holiday!! I would recommend this hotel to young couples, familes, middle aged couples etc.I've never stayed at such a clean hotel and where every... more
