Holiday at aegean princess marmaris
Our stay at the aegean princess was really good. The staff were very friendly especially danny(abdulgani tanrikuli) who was very very helpful. Jimmy(ahmet kilic) who was very funny and made us welcome :) The rooms were very clean thanks to the maids who came in everyday. The food was good. Its very near to the beach and nightlife 10-15 walk. We like it hear very much and will definately book to come back next year. From dave, tracy, tom & jessica from london.x
Great hotel, very friendly and accommodating
Just spent a week at this hotel. It’s about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the beach which really isn’t a big issue. I’s also 5 or 10 minutes from the Thursday market. The beach area is very loud at night so it was great to be situated a bit further away. I went with a friend (both 26) and loved it. The hotel workers were very friendly and helped in anyway they could. They were great with families and kids who were also staying at the hotel. The rooms were clean and very big, the pool is a good size (unless you want to train for the marathon!), and the food was great. I think for the money we paid we got an excellent deal. Way too many people complaining over nothing. Relax, you’re on holiday!
A quiet hotel
Came back from this hotel on thursday and overall had a really good time in Marmaris. We were 4 young people travelling. The hotel isn't in the best location as it is about 15minutes walk to the sea-front but as it is in a quieter area, the nearby restaurants are cheaper & they do some good deals! We felt very safe at the hotel and walking about through the town in both the day & night. The hotel was good overall with someone always able to assist you and it was very clean. When we stayed, the hotel was quite quiet with not alot of guests & so there wasn't a lot going on. This was fine though, as we just used the hotel as a base and were out the majority of the time. Long beach is good for clubs & bars & we found bar street a bit expensive & a bit too far to walk. The room was nice - The bathroom was lovely & looked newly renovated; It was spotless, with a power-shower. There was 1 bedroom with 2 single beds & a sofa bed out in the living area that made into a double. We found the maid didn't seem to do a lot in the room bar empty the bins & our towels were only changed the day before we left. They also only provide you with 1 toilet roll for your stay so you have to buy any more that you need! The pool was lovely, deep and always clean and there were inflatables to use. We ate in the hotel twice & the meals were nice and not bad value for money. I would recommend the pizza. We never felt pressurised to buy anything at the hotel. The staff were all very pleasant and the men were fine around us (being young females). However, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again as it wasn't lively enough but it would be great if you wanted a steady, relaxing holiday. Also just to mention ... At night, music was played loudly from the opposite hotel till about 2am sometimes, but its not so bad if you close your window. As for tours, we booked 2 boat trips which were good value for money & then (who we booked with) we got the 3rd trip free. This was a night boat trip where basic dinner was provided & there was supposed to be fun and dancing on board all night but this only lasted not even an hour & so for the rest of the evening people did look bored. Therefore, i wouldn't recommend that trip as i feel it was a waste of an evening.
Not for kids but good location
Just got back from the Aegean Princess with my wife and teenage son. The rooms are quite basic but clean. Oddly, the air con to the two room appartments are sited in the bedroom?? This is pretty odd since, during the day when you might want to relax in the main reception room the air con power is not powerful enough to cool the room so you have to retreat to the bedroom to cool down. Air con and safety box hire cost us £57 for the two weeks. We found that the room cleaning only happend once or twice a week and laundry service only on Wednesdays which was not very good. Be prepared for bed sores as the beds and sofabed provided are tough going. Also, the beds in the bedroom are singles which cannot be brought together because of the design of the bed frame - very inconvenient. We did find that the pool was too small and there is absolutely nothing to do for the kids other than a small games room in the basement with pool and table tennis and no internet. It's lack of provision for youngsters is especially apparent as across the square is another hotel called the Elexior Appartments which is lively, plenty for the kids to do and just more fun all round. Also no internet service. Whilst the Elexior was alive till at least 3.am for all the Aegean was quiet by 11pm leaving the kids and us frustrated. Dont book their Turkish night it's not worth it, you're better off booking a proper Turkish night out at Kervansaray which was excellant. We booked all our trips at the excursion office across from the hotel next to the mini market. The husband and wife team there were very friendly and gave us great deals on Jeep safari, Pumukkale thermal springs, Turkish bath and Aqua Dream water park - totally recommend them. Best value restaurant was called "Family" which was about 10mins walk from the appartment. Recommend shopping for essentials at Kippa/Tesco which is 5 mins from the hotel. Finally, make sure you eat before getting to Dalaman Airport on your return otherwise you'll be ripped off by the prices. We went to MacDonalds and were charged £7.50 for a kids meal and £11.50 for a big Mac times two - now that is just criminal. A couple of us took pics of the prices as we did'nt think anyone would believe it.
Dont do it!
Not Great, very basic, pool is tiny and had a cockroach swimming in it. when my husband asked for a net to remove it, he was told it was ok leave it! so we did, that was are first day and for the next two weeks we used the Excelsior opposite which had a loverly pool for our 4 children and day and evening none stop entertainment, We had a ball there, next time I will go there instead. also as we had two rooms we had to pay £80 air con as well as £17 safe,The air con was noisey and not much use and went off when you left the room.. at the Excelsior we where told air con was free!
No good for families
This hotel is not suitable for families with young children. My husband and i plus an 8 year old and a 1 year old stayed here. The Toddler pool is very small and on one occassion had broken glass in it and the main pool has no shallow end as such i had to stand on tip toes in the shallow end. The rooms are very spacious with no faults about the actual rooms but the maids do not clean the rooms properly, in two weeks the floor or bath and sink were never cleaned the only thing the maid did do was make the beds. The general staff here are brilliant and cant do enough to help with exception of the manager who barely spoke a word of english. Stay clear of the food this was not the best and also the turkish night the hotel offers is crap and not worth the money at all. This hotel would be perfect for those who just need a base or couples .
Enjoy your stay
We recently spent two weeks here. The apaprtments were clean and plenty of space. Overall we had a great holiday and owuld recommend it. The only problem was the lack of space around the pool but it was a busy time of year and most apartments in the area had the same problem. It's a 15 minute walk to the beach, shops and restaurants in a relatively quiet area. We would recommend the BellaBlu restaurant near the Aegean Princess for reasonable prices, good service and food, and no hassle. You might also want to try Pierre Loti restaurant on the way to the beach who serve Chinese, British and Turkish food, and have free internet access. We'd strongly recommend going on some trips and booking these through Insu Tours who are near the apartments next to a small supermarket on the way to the beach. They are opposite Club Ilayda and next to Club Anastasia. The staff there are great, especially Nico, who was friendly, entertaining and helpful and didn't pressure you like other tour providers. We went on the majority of their trips as they were reasonably cheap and we really enjoyed them. I'd also suggest exchanging pounds to lira with them as they offered better rates that at other places. Definately pay them a visit! Another tip to save money would be to go to the Kipa supoermarket and the cash and carry about 5 minutes walk from the apartments (ask at reception for directions) as they have cheaper food and drinks there. Enjoy your trip!
We'll be back!
Just returned from 10 nights at the Aegean Princess and had a great time. The hotel was fantastic, and was the best I've stayed in within Greece and Turkey in terms of cleanliness and facilities, particularly for a budget hotel. The bathroom was lovely and had a powerful shower! The kitchen was basic, but had a fridge and kettle, which were the main things we used, and then we ate out every night. There were just small cups provided in the room so we ended up buying a couple of mugs at the 24 hr KIPA supermarket about 5/10 min walk from the hotel - basically Tesco as that was the brand on the mugs we bought! The pool was nice, but the experience varied dependent on the people who were there as you'd expect!! We had a couple of quiet days and a couple with adults and kids alike dive bombing! We mixed up the holiday a bit with some day trips, time by the hotel pool and trips to the beach (much quieter than the pool!) and overall had a relaxing time. Staff were always helpful and friendly, and obviously wanted you to spend time (and money) there! But they were easy going and good humoured, though they didn't entirely grasp the concept of my friend and I wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday! Location wise the hotel is a bit away from the beach, but the “dolmus” minibuses can be caught not far from the hotel, they’re very cheap and one goes by every few minutes usually! The surrounding area was much quieter than being in the centre of Marmaris, although there was occasionally a bit of noise in the evening from other hotels. Most nights it got quiet between 11pm - midnight. We only had one disturbed night when our neighbours came in very late, put their own music on and generally acted like a herd of elephants, but that's hardly the hotel's fault. For eating out I can highly recommend Pierre Loti and Summer Rain, both about 10 mins walk from the hotel on the way to the beach and centre of Marmaris. The food was lovely, the waiters are great and genuinely friendly rather then hassling you (as my friend and I are single females we appreciated the difference)! Overall we had a brilliant time and can highly recommend staying at the Aegean Princess!
relaxing holiday
stayed here with partner and son who is a moody 13 year old, had a lovely relaxing time staff were great and food was lovely, though my son was bored not 1 for teenagers. went back in sept with friends had a ball.
Suitable for Couples Only
suitable for couples only the apartments of the Aegean princess have both spotless and spacious rooms great bath room with bath/shower/hairdryer advise use before sun goes down living/dining area with tv lots of space . outside pool area is very good/clean and plenty of sun beds. food here not that good. the beach front is a 15 min walk flat shoes required, staff here love your money and will do there best to make sure you spend as much as you can before you leave, single women to be aware of older male members of staff as they can be quite abroupt.
