Comments:  As with other people's comments we were a bit anxious to go to turbo club but after arriving over 22hrs late due to Thomas cook delays (we even got on plane 3hrs after first delay got half way to be turned round to gatwick!! Never again!!!!) we arrived at 1am in the morning and was allocated our apartment no problems and very polite man. The apartment was not very big but there was only 2 girls so we didnt mind wasnt like we was gonna be spending much time in it anyway,it had everything u need. The food wasnt as bad as people were making out they had plenty of choice fish meat and salad always available you have to be open to try food as most of it was just labeled by meat type not actually what sauce it is in but most of time nice or if ur like me ull stick to the chips and salad with garlic sauce(mmmmhhhhh) lol. You dont go hungry breakfast is at 8am till 10am dinner at 12.30pm till 2.30pm tea and cakes at 3.30pm till 4.30pm then tea at 6pm till 8pm the drinks are available at all times up untill 11.30 so stock up for the night, altho very annoying they come in half pint plastic cups and u can only take 2 at a time very annoying having to run up and down the steps every 30 mins or so unless ur sitting by the pool all day which is fine, there is a supermarket on site so no problems to buy some squash and water to keep u going after 11.30, the alcohol is ok uve got a choice of vodka, rum, brandy, whiskey, malibu so plenty of choice and tastes fine. No cockroaches altho we had a tiny visitor on first morning never saw one again in complex! There are cats wandering around but never caused any problems to us they just laid in the sun all day and liked a bit of fuss now and again. Outside of the complex ur not far from "holiday world were there are arcades and a bar named the moonlight bar its bout a 5min walk across the road, the staff in the bar are crazy its worth goin for a warm up to your night out they do a quiz where u win shots for shouting correct answer i had loads!! They also have acts nearly every night. If you wander across the road a bit more there is a shopping centre called Faro 2 there are shops and bars we recommend The Banana Bar staff are mad mad mad and cocktails great!! Theres a dance floor it has everything u need in fact we stayed in there all night it was great fun. Theres always taxis around if u want to travel into playa da ingles or maspaloma costs around €4 very cheap if u go into playa da ingles we recommend the Roma resturant on the sea front what fantastic food!!! not that cheap but totally worth it we went on the night with the stars trip which costs €40 each and thats travel food and entertainment elvis impersonator every night but different acts along with him every night too we went back the next day for our last meal it was that good if u like steak then go for that u cant go wrong. we also went to Sioux city which was fantastic cant beat a bit of cowboy and indians! lol.The kids will love it there is so much to do the bbq is great and the show even better make sure u take ur camera. Overall our trip was fantastic it was just the delays and as i say we will never ever fly with thomas cook again! We were also delayed on the way back too but that couldnt ruin the time we had in Cran Canaria definatly a family holiday destination. Oh forgot to mention if ur homophobic be warned it is very in ur face over there u cant get away with it but must say some people we met there went to the gay bars for a night out and had the best night ever! hehe. hope this review helps you.

Comments:  We booked our holiday through On The Beach.com(whom I would NOT recommend!)and
were a bit anxious after reading some reviews. We arrived very late at night and were
settled into our appartement very quickly which was great as our 2yr old & our 4 year old were very tired. The appartments were immaculate.Maids come in every day either to clean and change the beds or to put fresh towels out.

The dining room is clean and bright with staff cleaning any tables which have been
vacated. The food is ok.We could always find something from the many choices.DINNER usually was 2 kinds of meat,pasta,salad.chips,rolls,soup,ice-cream&fruit.LUNCH was much the same idea.BREAKFAST was continental-Pastries,friut,yoghurt.beans,frankfurter sausages, egg, rolls, bread which could be toasted. Some cereal was available but I personally dont like the milk that is served abroad so that was a no go!(we did buy ok milk & cereal from the shop which we kept in the appartment fridge)

The staff were friendly & helpful -always taking time to talk to the children on passing.(even though they work LONG shifts and must be exausted)The pool area and grounds are constantly being attended to and are lovely.

The animation staff are lovely.Again, bright and cheery consistently. My sons loved the "mini-disco" which was on most nights.Evening entertainment wasnt up to much but
was suffice if you werent looking for an action packed holiday! We didnt stay for much of it as the children had to go to bed.

I would agree with some other reviews that there is nothing to do for teenagers. The
ones that we were aware of seemed bored. You could go into "holiday world" which is an amusement park 5 mins walk from hotel.

There is a race every morning when the sunloungers are unchained so be ready to run!!!

We had a lovely quiet, relaxing time at the TURBO CLUB and i would consider going again.

Comments:  I have just got back from a 2 week stay at this resort we went between 14th july till 28th. In our party there were 4 adults and one child aged 2. Well where to begin really we arrived very late on in the evening when the all inclusive had finished but the gentleman at reception did offer us food but we all had a drink and then went straight to bed. I thought this was rather good service but then my mind was ticking as to why/how food would be available on the spot surley its all cooked fresh before the resturant is opened?!

Rooms are however very nice and spacious, a travel cot was provided for our son which was in brand new condition, room consisted of 2 single beds pushed together with vanity mirror and stool very nice and enough for what you need in a bedroom. Within the apartment was a kitchenette with hob, fridge which comes in very handy breakfast bar and 3 stools all very nice. Bathroom was spacious with walk in shower which was conveniant.

Meals were a BIG let down we felt, although there was always something to eat we found it to be very repetative and also more catered for the german guests -- breakfast consited of coco pops, musli and corn flakes, or for those who wanted hot the choices were pretty much the same every morning odd lookin sausages that were bright pink in the middle, beans and rubbery eggs...occasionally bacon. Dinner and evening meals sometimes the same food was offered - eg potatoes ,fish balls, wasnt very nice. We ventured out a few times for meals and would reccomend the british centre which is within the yumbo centre where you could eat steak, chicken and lots more which were all fresh and resonably priced.

Entertainment was NON- existant!!!! During our 2 week stay the evenings consisted of bingo/quiz or an act whom the hotel didnt pay to perform as they offer pictures at the end of the show with eg snakes/birds at 10 euros a piece!!! We also found some of the entertainment a bit inappropraite for children as one night there was a show in which women displayed underwear!!!! This also happened during some days -- it was called A fashion show!!! Some how we didnt agree!! Childrens clubs were available and the entertainers isabelle and christian worked very hard at trying to keep the children entertained.

Would definantly reccomend paying a visit to the yumbo centre!! We ventured there on many occasions as we wer not able to look all around in one day as there are sooo many places to look at and we just got soo tired but we enjoyed goin bk again. Entertainment is on plus side here to with many a drag bar --- very funny good eveneing entertainment providing its your cup of tea. Shops are a plenty, also bargains are a plenty!!! Only costing around 3/4 euros to get there.

Holiday world was a big hit for us as we found again always something to do, funfair, bar, arcade, bowling....somewhere to eat was all very good. My son also had a very good time in funfair as there were plaenty of rides for children as well as adults, a night enjoyed by all. ould definatly reccomend and is easily within walkin distance around about 10 mins away.

Beach we only ventured out to once but this is only due to the fact my son got very agitated very quickly as it gets hot very quick and is a bit unbearable for young children. Was lovely howver plenty of space and sea was beautiful ok if you have older children as with little ones you cant really rest as there are sooo many people around you you have to watch them all the time that they dont wander off....Not worth the bother stay somewhere more family orientated i would suggest with little ones.

We ventured out more towards the end of our holiday to playa de ingles where we found lots to do, lots of resturants, night life. Always somewhere to go and something to do and only costing around 4 euros to get there it is cheap enough.

The site itself was lovely. There is one main pool where the pool bar is -- tho be warned some ppl can get rather angry if they do get splashed especially some germans --- even tho it is a pool bar!! There is also a childrens pool and also another pool tho we wernt made aware of this only when we ventured to find the one and only 5kg washer and dryer that we discovered it!! Pool was however very clean during our first week but as the resort become more busy the water was not so nice to swim in, it became very oily and had white bits floating around it, and we were always finding cups/straws etc in there!! Glad our hoiday ended when it did!!

We would recommend this resort for a cheap get away but would not reccommend all inclusive a weeks stay is more than long enough -- ok if you are desperate i suppose. Will not be going back to this resort ourselves but would like to back to gran canaria. Just glad we had ur holiday before the resort hit peak season as i dread to think what it would be like!!!!

Comments:   Well...me, my mum and my 10 year old sister went to Turbo Club for 2weeks and after reading the reviews we were VERY worried! But on arriving were plesantly impressed. We arrived the early hours of the morning and there was someone there to help us check in and it all went very smoothly. Even out room was a 10sec walk from the reception which was great as we were all knackered! We were offered a meal as the AI had finished for the day but all we wanted was a bed. The rooms were very clean and suprisingly cool, but where the room was we were out of the sun for most of the day which was a bonus.

Breakfast included ... cereals (cornflakes, museli, & coco pops), bread, rolls and croissants some days. It varied from day to day. Egg, beans, and Sausages ... which were odd looking (the curly ones, i think they are german) but they had normal looking ones on occasion lol. Cheese, ham, salami, yoghurt, and fruit.

Lunch and dinner was more or less the same, there was fish, and at least 2 types of meat, along with veggies, pasta, fried fish and chicken, chips, and varied things from day to day.

There is snack time where they have cakes and biscuits available.

Deserts were ice creams of 3 flavours, sometimes fruit and some sort of angel delight type stuff.

Drinks were always available, but only 3 per person and were given in a small plastic cup.

The rooms were basic but enough. There was a small hob, sink and cupboards in the living area, along with a sofa which converted into the third bed. There was a tv, which was payable, but for 1euro you got 1 hour 20mins. Bathroom was clean and tidy, shower toilet and sink. Bedroom was two single beds together with a mirror and bedside tables.

We enjoyed our stay and would reccomend it for a cheap get away...but I think a week is plenty. As we went for 2 and the food got very samey and theres not much to do.

Cabs are pretty cheap, can get to the main places for 3-4euro. Theres a water park, 3 or 4 shopping centres, holiday world which is a big amusement park, and markets within walking distance. I would reccomend anyone to goto the 'Yumbo centre' and goto Rickys cabaret bar for the drag show! Its amazing! and the yumbo centre is great for shopping.

The kids club in the hotel is on at 11 and 2 every day and keeps them occupied, there is also a mini disco most nights, the guy Christian who was the main man, was excellent with the children and could spreak 6 languages fluently! I was impressed lol!

The only thing we didnt rate was the food, we always found something, but if your fussy then its not for you. Its a 2 key hotel, and you get what you paid for basically.

Comments:  all inclusive. ha ha ha 3 meals a day with no snacks in between. meals were chips chips chips and oh chips. basic accomodation was cleaned regular. everything shut at 11.30pm if your just about to pop your clogs and looking for last holiday then try here. if you want a good time look elsewhere. bus to beach as it not within walk distance. taxi to any kind of nightlife as nothing close by. would not recommend this hotel to anyone at any price. watered down drink, fruit juice was like water, and service at the bar was terrible. entertainment. ha dont get me started. there aint none. quiz one night where the staff won. as an avid holidaymaker this is one place i strongly advice to boycot at all cost.

Comments:  My firtst time to Gran Canaria, and I would class myself as a well seasoned traveller. I always read holiday reviews and often wonder if they are a fair representation of a holiday, so I have would like to think this is.
I went for 6 days, a bit of winter sunshine with a friend. We did not have high expectations as we had a bargain price of £300 for all inclusive 2/3*
The positive comments: The apartments were very clean, fairly spacious and most of them set around the small pool complex, with nice little furnished balconies. Food was good, plenty of it and had a choices of meat and always a fish dish. Salads were lovely and fresh, puddings limited but adequate. It was run by a very small team of Staff, and they were ok, not overly friendly but equally so, not rude. Weather was great, plenty of sunbeds/parasols, didnt have to fight for them, and pool area very clean and well maintained. A shopping complex around 20 min walk away, but shuts on sunday evenings, one visit and you have seen all the shops - really good bar there but seems a bit weird sipping cocktails in a closed shopping complex ! - but lovely staff.
For late departures they offer a room and shower facilities to clean up before your flight home - Free, but you do have to pay for any drinks/food from 12pm onwards.
Down sides, miles from anywhere, nowhere to have a walk on an evening, surrounded by waste land, residential/holiday apartments/ bypasses and busy roads. no local bars/restaurants, buses limited times- every couple of hours, taxies cost around 10euro round trip into Maspalomas/Playa Del Ingles.
No Aircon in apartments - unless you were prepared to pay for the hire of a unit.
Complex entertainment DIRE!!, Crusty the clown every night with the same old songs/dances and the enigmatic Isabelle on Bingo in 3 different languages.
All the soft drinks were watered down and flat, fruit juices were infact squash, we could only cope with the beer and water only, as wine was like vinegar, local alcohol not great.
Everywhere was closed and all holiday makers in bed by 11.30, not one rebellious holiday maker in sight, as it was impossible to obtain a drink after 11.20. Good I suppose if you have very young children.
We had a nice relaxing 6day break, read, slept, ate and had plenty of hot sunshine, really dont expect much else if you book here, unless you are prepared to leave the complex daily and pay for taxi's.- defeats the object of an all inclusive resort.

Comments:  I stayed at the Turbo Club for 7 nights with my 11 year old son in April 2008.

Turbo club only offers all-inclusive accommodation. The "bungalows" as they are called are spacious, comfortable, very clean and included a kitchenette with fridge and ice-box. The TV was metered and gave one hour, twenty minutes viewing for one euro.

Activities at Turbo club were limited, one tennis court, one table tennis table, one pool table, mini golf - which was more suitable for children then adults. Internet access was available, at a cost of one euro for fifteen minutes. Internet access at "Holiday world", (see below), was one euro for twenty minutes. There was an on-site super market, with plenty of useful items. Music was played continuously from 11am until 11pm, alternating English with Spanish songs; I found the music very entertaining. Turbo club has a show at 9pm every night, but these were not very entertaining and were aimed at draining ones pocket. E.g. A man gave a short show involving birds of prey and then invited people up on stage to have photos taken, at a charge. A fashion show, resulted in raffle tickets being sold for the clothing, to raise more money than the clothes were worth.

The food at turbo club was very, very poor, I would give it a 2 out of 10. It was tasteless and items re-appeared from the day before and two days before, i.e. yesterdays grated carrots re-appear mixed with rice and a fish dish was served three days in a row, by day three it was absolutely disguising. Packed lunches were breakfast leftovers thrown into a carrier bag, not practical at all, slices of ham and cheese wrapped in aluminum foil, bread rolls with packets of butter and jam. Just how one spreads the butter and jam onto the bread whilst at the beach I don’t know? All the soft drinks tasted extremely diluted; I had to buy soft drinks from the super market and store them in the fridge. The locally produced wine and lager was nice though, if you do not like your wine and lager strong. Be prepared to start eating out by day three, because that's all one can take of the food at Turbo club.

One of the good things about Turbo Club is that it is ten minutes walk from “Holiday world”, an entertainment centre which has a fun fair suitable for adults as well as children, a bowling ally, several pool tables and other arcade style entertainment, restaurants, bars etc. We spent most evenings here.

Would I stay at Turbo club again? Only if one could go self-catering or bed and breakfast, but as this is out of the question no I would not; as I am not prepared to pay for food I can not eat.

Comments:  Just returned, literally! Don't let all the bad reviews put you off. OK. it's not 5 Star but I didn't pay for five star either.
The food was ok, always hot, three or four main choices plus pasta, rice etc and nice salads. I could always find something to eat, certainly no need to go hungry. Staff were pleasant and coperative. Apartments spotlessly clean! Loads of clean towels. You get what you pay for and I got my money's worth. I would go back no problem and would recommend if you want a value for money cheapie.

Entertainment however, is dire! If you want shows, go out on a night! If you like bingo and quizzes, no problem. Taxis to the nearby resort of Playa Del Ingles cost 4 euros and there is plenty to do down there in the evenings.

Comments:  Just returned from my third stay at Turbo Club - again my husband and I had a lovely holiday. Rooms are very clean. Food, although more like canteen style food, was edible, hot and not a problem. I agree, the entertainment is not very good but we did go out a few times in the evening to Faro de Maspalomas, Player Del Ingles and had some lovely meals and walks along the beach. Well worth a visit. If you want a cheap, all inclusive holiday this is the place to go!!

Comments:  just returned from a very relaxing 2 weeks at the turo club after reading the comments before we went was a bit concerned by what we would be getting.yes the food is basic and very repetitive but you are able to make a meal of the things offered to you. The accomodation i found fantastic VERY CLEAN,and quite spacious. The entertainment in the day was there if you wanted to join in the games although practically non exsistent of an evening, but as the complex is small it doesnt take you long to meet and make friends to pass the evening with.the kids club was ok but could be better 4 to 12 year olds were altogether which i didnt agree wth,the place is quite, but there are lots of things to do within a 10 to 15 min walk away ie the market, holiday world thr faro 2 shopping center.the best trip for us though was swimming with sea lions it cost 40e to participate or 20e to watch that includes travel there and back we were made to feel very welcome by charlie the driver and tina the lady trainer of the sealions.whata fantastic experiencw swimming on the back of a sealion and then doing training activities with them yourselves brfore having different photos taken which you could purchase if you wanted too beware though the water is cold but once in the water with the sealions you soon forget a truly memorable experience. as awhole there are a few things i would change and make better about the place ie entertainment and food, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for,and i think it was great value for money and i would go back

Comments:  Don't believe all that is written about this place. We've just returned 4 adults 3 children aged 2 to 5 and had a great time. The entertainment is all a bit tongue in cheek and wasn't particularly special (except the mini disco which was a massive hit with the kids!), the food is OK with plenty of choice and there was always fresh salad and fruit available. The rooms were cleaned pretty much every day and al the staff were friendly. True there are lots of German tourists and amazingly enough the staff are indeed Spanish, but if you make the effort to ask them for beer etc in Spansih first you'll find they appreciate it and will go out of their way to help.

The location is quiet but in easy reach of what you might need. It's definintely not an 18 to 30 type place but if you want incredible value and clean family accommodation I don't think you can do better than this place.

Comments:  Just back from Turbo Club, all inclusive (ha-ha), this place is a joke, take a packed lunch with you, 14 of them if staying 2 weeks as we foolishly did. Travel agents should be closed down for selling this as all inclusive. Entertainment non existent, food unbearable, drinks sometimes, snacks must have missed them..... If you have been conned into booking this place, cancel, lose money if you have to and book somewhere else.... A real Joke!!!
