Santorini is magical!!
10 / 10
Sep 2009, orlaheenan

Myself and my partner stayed in santorini in Sept of 08 and we had the most relaxing, peaceful and romantic holiday ever!! it is a beautiful island with lots to see and the pool around Angyra was quiet and never full. The food at the bar was fantastic and great for breakfast and lunch. twenty min walk to Kamari was tiring but great excuse to get some exercise..overall i'd recommend the Angyra apartments to anyone looking for a calm, relaxed holiday of sun!

I felt the need to add a review as...

Sep 2008, Miss L Evans

I felt the need to add a review as there was not many I could find before we went.
The Angyra apartments are about a 20minute walk into town, which we did know from the brochure before we booked it. The walk is pleasant but towards to end of the week did become a bit tiresome and we became lazy. However, rental or quads, mopeds and cars is widely available. Do not think you can call a taxi though, the only taxi rank is in fira (the capital) and it will charge you the cost from fira to kamari on top of your fare. There are no street lights on the lane to the hotel, only on one occasion did we feel unsafe.
The apartments themselves were big, clean and spacious. Ours felt almost new. Maid service is frequent and there is air con at a cost but we didnt need it as during the nights, the island becomes cooler from the breeze.
The pool area is lovely and clean. Pool is an ideal size and it does not get busy around the poolside so there are always free sunbeds. The pool bar has a well priced menu with a variety of options.
Kamari itself, offers many tavernas and bars with something for everyone. The beach is lovely, black sand though which may be a put off to some people. Theres are watersports available and boats to take you to other beaches.
We used public transport to Fira a few times, bus stop about 10mins walk into town from hotel. Every 30mins the bus comes and cost 1euro40. Fira ia amazing and well worth the trip.
There is aircraft noise and planes can clearly be seen and heard coming and going. It is a small island though so it is hard to avoid.
All in all, a wonderful holiday, would definitely go back to Santorini but would opt for a more central location.

There is now a pool at the Angyra so you do not have to go next door.
Clean rooms and food area and pool area very clean.
You always have a 20/25 min walk as soon as you leave the apartments to go to bus stop, shops, restaurants, beach etc, this is a very pleasent walk but can be a little annoying if you just want to pop out in the morning example for breakfast. Food can be supplied at the Angyra but is a small menu.
Family run, very quiet which I liked, no cars or people walking past your apartment. I found it very good valvue for money.
Bus service very frequent every 20 mins but can get very busy, Also I found the Island expensive compared to other Greek Islands

Just returned from our holiday at...

Jun 2008, Miss V Lord

Just returned from our holiday at Angyra Studios and I felt I had to post a review as I couldn't find one anywhere before we left.
Michaela and Andreus were a very pleasant couple who have ran the studios for the last fifteen years although neither of them look old enough!
We were staying in a Studio which Michaela told us we were in the smallest room but it was more than enough for our needs.
The accomodation was basic with a two ring hob, a full sized fridge and a kettle and was very clean.
The incoming flights run parallel to Kamari beach and then over Angyra as the airport isn't too far behind them, however it is a small airport and not at all noisy.
The pool is lovely, surrounded by a rose and palm tree garden to one side, the apartments on another and then the pool bar seating area.
There is a wide range of drinks available from the pool bar and a basic menu consisting of toasties, omelettes, burgers and pizzas.
The apartments aren't far from the beach, however, there is private land between the road to the beach and the apartments. Therefore it does take around 20 minutes to walk to Kamari. The roads are in good condition and aren't dirt tracks as I've found on other Greek Islands, however I recommend flat shoes.
Also a torch is needed if you come back late a night.
If you ask at the Pool Bar Michaela will call a taxi for youto Kamari Beach which costs around 5 euros.
All in all a lovely holiday
