Alexandros Apartments

This holiday was fantasic. By the end of the holiday we did'nt want to leave which is always a sign of a good holiday.
Sissi was a beautiful little place.One of the great facts about sissi, is that there are not many cars at all. You are able to walk around town taking in the sights (which are great) with no worry of traffic. We were pleasantly suprised with how many shops there were, we had heard there were not many at all. However there is a very good handfull of shops. The food was of brilliant quality. The people you will encounter will be around a third English, third Greek, with the latter third being other, mainly German

Our hotel, the Alexandros Apartments we throughily enjoyed. Its family run, the main two women who run the hotel,Maria and her sister are very friendly and very easy to talk too. They will keep the bar open till the last person goes back to their rooms. They are very helpful in all aspects you need, advice on the best places to go etc. The rooms are cleaned everyday very well, new towels everyday.
.. The rooms are basic, however this is no problem as the majority of your time will not be in your rrom as the pool is fantastic, will many sunbeds throughout the day. The hotel is very well positioned. Supermarket very close.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE HOLIDAY : Taver Aurero, all the resturants on the port front (great views) the great pool, but most of all the mini golf! Fantasic course

Our family stayed at the Alexandros apartments for two weeks in July/August this year. We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
This was my 13th time holidaying on this beautiful island and staying at the Alexandros apartments added to our enjoyment. Ok, the traffic noise was a nuisance at night and yes, the apartments were basic but what do you expect for such a good price?
The pool was great, the pool bar was the cheapest in Gaios and the owners are lovely, friendly people.
We have tried to book again for next year but Kosmar are no longer going there.
It has now just cost us £1,500 more to go with another company.
My family and I hope that the Alexandros will appear in another brochure very soon and we will certainly go there again.

We have just returned from the beautiful island of Paxos, we had a fantastic holiday even though we stayed in the apartments from hell.
The pool is unclean, full of human hair, no distinct smell of chlorine, probably never checked.
The toilet in our top floor apartment leaked urine all over the bathroom floor when flushed, please pack your wellies.
The noise was horrendous,100 m from a nightclub with passing revellers singing and shouting until the early hours of the morning, not to mention the bottle factory before that with the forklift trucks and lorries, the fruit warehouse directly across, the fast motorbikes, scooters, cars 24 hrs a day, even ear-plugs did not work.
Not to mention the stolen items from the suitcases and room, but according to the owners there are no thieves on Paxos, tell that to the family below our room who had 150 Euros stolen.
Please keep belongings locked in your suitcase. Do not let these minor things ruin your holiday I think we might be a bit fussy.

Just back from a week in Gaios.. We stayed at Alexandros Apartments. We had a studio on the ground floor, where do I start? I feel quite bad about what I'm gonna say because we found the owners to be quite nice. The studio was filthy, 2 lumpy single beds, dirty floors, dirty furniture.
There was a cleaner but by the look of the room I don't ever think she ventured into any corner of the room. The Bathroom was the main problem. I know plumbing in Greece is a little behind the times but this took it to another level. It was horrid, the smell was cruel, it smelled of wee all the time, really!
The door frame was rotting away with the rotten bits not even swept up, the shower was that covered in lime scale that it barely trickled, it was just dirty. We mentioned it to the kosmar rep but he "forgot" to mention it to the owners. I couldn't be dealing with any confrontation so we just left it. I know people say accommodation doesn't really matter but the thought of coming back there every night really bothered me.
The smell got so strong at night that I was actually scared. The location of the apartment is right beside a main road. It didn't stop once - scooters, motorbikes the lot, the people next to us actually went out one night to get them to stop having races and tell them to be quiet, it was soooooooooo noisy. Pool was nice enough though!
Gaios itself was lovely - glad we chose there to base ourselves but I have to say however that the Kosmar accommodation is definitely bottom of the pile there.
Sorry if this sounds like I'm the fussiest girl ever but it really was that bad!
