" We have spent two great holidays at... "

We have spent two great holidays at The Paradise and enjoyed both immensely, the first was in August 2005 and then June 2006.
The rooms were very clean, the first room being in the little bungalow type chalets which was lovely, the second time in one of the main buildings.
Petra is a place on its own it has an atmosphere second to none and hopefully we will get there again before too long, say hello to Nicos at Bebas in the square one of the best places to sit and people watch! Definitely a great island.

" Have been to Petra numerous times and... "

Have been to Petra numerous times and love the place. We have stayed at Nicholas House before which we always liked. We went with another couple this time and stayed at Paradise - what a disaster. The rooms were shabby to say the least and looked like they needed redecorating. There was no hot water on arrival, and the other couples electric rings didn’t work. We complained to the owner who told our friend to "not stress him" ! Needless to say we got hot water, but the ring was never fixed and subsequently if they needed to cook themselves something on the hot plate like bacon or boil some eggs they had to come over to our room with pan in hand and use ours! We complained to the rep who advised this was "basic Greece". As I have been to many parts of Greece I appreciate the basic ness of the place but not having a cooking ring is ridiculous. The owner was unhelpful and seemed to leave the work to his son and wife. I got the impression that once he had received his money from us for the accommodation he couldn’t really care less whether anyone complained or not. Would definitely not stay there again.

" Booked this holiday without much... "

Booked this holiday without much research on the place but was pleasantly surprised how lovely Lesvos is.
The room was clean and well maintained, we were made to feel really welcome, couldn't fault it.
I was glad I had my driving license as we had couple of days exploring the island which I would have been disappointed to miss as the island is so big, we'll need to come back again as there is so much to see and has such a friendly feel about the place.
Beach was close by, and about 15 minute stroll to local tavernas which were okay but a bit keen to drag us in when we were passing.
Unfortunately we only really discovered Molivos on our second week, where there was a better choice of bars, restaurants and night life, thats if you don't want to stay at the hotel or feel like a change from Greek food which we got tired of after a few days.
In the harbour area of Molivos there are plenty of tavernas to choose from and a great Italian place at the entrance to the harbour, its upstairs but the name escapes me, also there were several good bars there.
I take Lesvos as a lucky find, can't understand why it's not promoted more, wasn't busy when we were there but bumped into many people who have been before or go every year.

" Petra was a lovely place with very... "

Petra was a lovely place with very nice scenery. The bars and tavernas were all fantastic, with plenty of choice and value for money, the paradise studios were very clean and well maintained, the pool was fairly large and relaxing.
The beach was just a minutes walk from the apartments, and other beaches along the coast were walk able, or the taxis and buses were frequent and cheap. Petra is a nice family place or perfect for couples, there was 1 night club, but was not big.
No problems what so ever and would definitely go again, it was a really hassle free pleasant holiday.

Advice: Great shopping and very friendly shops tavernas, and people who live and work there.
Activities: The hot spas at Eftalou, just beyond molyvos. The petrified forest. There is so much if you venture
Good for: Beach
