Whatever you do, do not stay at the Kostas apartments. Very basic, unkept, bed linen not changed in a week!!!
Went with Kosmar this year and the rep at the airport did not even know we were coming!! Coach nearly left without us.
Big mix up with accommodation that we should have been staying at and we ended up at Kostas after waiting around for a few hours for the rep to drop off other guests at another resort.
You can even see directly into the apartments opposite the Kostas.
Nidri is quite commercial. Although some of the bars and restaurants are nice and friendly. The bar in which Kosmar held the welcome meeting was particularly good. It was called Flisvos.
Letter of complaint sent to Kosmar and to date (13 Sept) not received a reply - great customer service eh?!
Thomson has what looks like a very nice hotel, choose that but again I must stress: DO NOT BOOK THE KOSTAS APARTMENTS

Stayed here September 2004, just after Goldensun Holidays went bust. Rooms small and dingy. Cooking facilities at end of bed! Definitely would not recommend this place. The Sophie’s Studios are just opposite and much better. The same family owns them and you do have use of the swimming pool.

This has to be one of the poorest apartments I have ever stayed in with Kosmar who normally have excellent apartments in my experience. The rooms are cramped, dingy, dirty and dangerous (a curtain is right next to the rusty cooker!) The linen is still not changed all week and the place is filthy and crawling with insects.
Whilst it looks like they've had new doors and windows and air con put in (which wasn't in the brochure) they'd have been far better spending less money on new curtains as the current ones are moldy! The bins were only emptied once in the entire week (and that includes the toilet one and anyone who has been to Greece before will know what that means.)
My advice would be to go with Kosmar but pick anywhere other than Kostas Apartments.
