Ilio Maris Hotel

The hotel is very close to Mykonos town so at night we didn't have to ride our bike. Our room had a nice view but it was very hot and the air conditioning machine was noisy. The beds were really old and a bit unconfortable so was the bathroom. We payed 130 euro and frankly it was too expensive for what it offered. The receptionist didn't help us a lot and she gave us incorrect info when we asked her questions.We'll look for another place next time.

Great swimming pool and wonderful views of the town and sunset. Only a 5 min walk to the town down the hill. Buses also near by to take you to the famous Mykonos beaches. Friendly staff. Book well ahead to get a good price, otherwise you might end up paying top dollar for a clean but outdated room. Try to avoid rooms by the swimming pool, get a second or third floor instead. Highly recommended place to stay but lets don't fool ourselves, this is not the Hilton so don't pay Hilton prices for it.

This is a great hotel close to town. Buses to the beaches are at the bottom of a short hill. The views were spectacular. It has a very nice pool and a quality breakfast. The staff was quite friendly. The room was clean and it came at an excellent price. We would definitely stay here again.

I picked this hotel after reading a few reviews from Trip advisor. The hotel has a nice pool that over looks the town. The staff was mostly pleasant except for the owner’s daughter who was somewhat moody at times. When we got to the hotel the room they had given us was tiny and had a very small balcony. When i asked if we could have a room with a larger balcony, the owner's daughter gave us a suite to stay in (which should be considered a regular room) since it was off season. We stayed at the Ilio Maris in September 2003. Our room with balcony had a great view and overlooked the windmills and town. It is a small friendly authentic greek hotel with modern amenities. The staff there could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. We felt as if they really cared. It is a 5 minute walk downhill into the main part of town, so the hotel is quiet if not facing the road. We would definitely recommend it .

We booked to stay at this hotel for one week based on other reviews from this site. When we arrived we received a very warm & friendly welcome from the Manager who went out of his way to ensure we were happy with our room giving us the option to change if we were not. The hotel is well run, very clean & comfortable without being luxurious. I visit Mykonos once a year for the last five years now and I always look for accommodation in the Ilio Maris Hotel. The hotel is decorated according to the traditional mansion style of Cyclades Islands, thus wood, and the colors of white and blue dominate in its areas. I stayed at the Ilio Maris in late March, 2004. It is a couple of blocks uphill from the pedestrian-only section of Mykonos town and very close to the south bus station. I found the hotel charming. It has a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea, Mykonos town, and the windmills. It is nicely decorated. My room had attractive wood furniture, a beamed ceiling, and a large bathroom. My husband and I stayed at the Ilio Maris three times. It has a gorgeous view of the sea and is moderately priced. There's always been friendly staff and good conversation in the lobby bar, no matter the hour. The rooms are well lit with natural sunlight and are traditional with a lot of wood furnishings. I chose this hotel for its beautiful overview of the town of Mykonos and its homey atmosphere. This hotel is one of a group of hotels that is in the Despotika area within a 10 minute walking distance into town. If you want to see the town, it's a good choice. However, you will be dodging car and motorbike traffic on your way up and down the hill to town.
