Aris Hotel

Good friendly hotel, rooms were cleaned and beds changed everyday. Continental breakfast was very good, service was great. Had a brilliant holiday there and would recommend to anyone, do get up early if you want a sunbed.

We loved this place and the people are wonderful. Although the rooms are pretty basic and small, it doesn't matter, because all the staff is very friendly and Tolo is the best place in Greece.
Hotel is situated in a middle of this "one street" village, in centre, and it is the best place, because you find everything, shops, restaurants, etc. next to you.
And you can still enjoy sunbathing only few steps away from the hotel bar. The view from the breakfast terrace is really nice.
We will go back next year, definitely!

The Hotel Aris is ideally located near the centre of town and directly on the thin part of the beach.
The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the buffet breakfast plentiful.
Unfortunately our room was extremely small and the 'bathroom' consisted of a tiny shower cubicle with hand held shower attachment (not exactly what we had been expecting from the brochure) and the toilet was crammed in next to the shower so that it was hard not to whack my elbow on it every time I used the loo!
However, it was kept very clean and the air conditioning worked.
The main road through Tolon has become very busy with cars (we first visited 8 years ago and things were quieter then) but as most tourists and locals walk in the road the cars cannot travel very fast and therefore it isn't dangerous.
There are lots of nice restaurants and bars in Tolon but our favourite on both visits has been Marinero's. It's on a back road so doesn't get very busy but the welcome you receive from the host and the fresh home-cooked food really is second to none.
You will see signs for this restaurant in the town but the easiest route there is to follow the signs from the alley besides the Cafe Express Bar (Nikos Bar). Marinero's is about a 7 minute walk from there but well worth it. Dispense with the menu and just ask what's good today and you'll be sure to be very satisfied. Enjoy!

Very disappointed with hotel.
There was no mention of very steep slope down to the hotel.

Breakfast was continental buffet, the evening meal you chose from a menu, all Greek dishes, portions were very small, not very well cooked .There was a different menu if you wished to pay!!!! (Were we stupid or what, we had already paid by going A/I)
On the plus side the staff were friendly, rooms really basic the bathrooms oh dear.
Will stick to the islands in future

I have been a frequent traveler to Greece for over 35 years and as Greek C class hotels go, the Aris is pretty indifferent. In its favour are its location - on the beach - free aircon; clean towels every day and fresh bedding 2 to 3 times a week. Also, free sun loungers if certain continentals haven't put their towels on them by the previous midnight.
Its food is boring and the menu unimaginative. Prices tend to be 10 to 20% dearer than other along "the strip" - the bar prices are similarly higher. The rooms are pretty tatty - uncomfortable, creaking beds; wardrobes that belong to the 60's and a bathroom that isn't that modern! The whole building is crying out for some reinvestment.
Wouldn't go again and certainly wouldn't recommend it - you can do much better in this part of Greece.

Took my wife all-inclusive for her 50th birthday. We were very apprehensive as we had never heard of Tolon or had anyone else we talked to, and also the transfer was three hours. Surprisingly the transfer was comfortable and passed quite quickly, as it was late at night there was not much to see but the return journey is beautiful.
The staff where very friendly and helpful always trying to please us in any way they could, the rooms were basic but clean and tidy, food was good and plentiful and the resort was not too commercialised but still had plenty to offer, little piece of heaven set around a lovely harbour where you can hire a pedalo or small motor boat at descent prices.
We also hired a car and visited lots of places at our own pace. What more could you ask for. We have already booked to go back next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday last year at the Aris hotel. The owners and their staff were friendly and very accommodating, they made my husbands 70th birthday a most memorable occasion.
The food is very good and the weekly Greek night was the best that we have experienced.
This is the first time in all our years of holidays in Greece and the Greek Islands that we are returning to the same place twice! And look forward to seeing all the staff again in June 06.

We went to the Aris Hotel last year and enjoyed it so much that we have recommended to family and friends, we are going again this year in a party of eight.
The staff were very friendly, the food was excellent, the location was ideal for both relaxing on the beach and very convenient for sight seeing.
All in all a very good holiday and we are looking forward to seeing all the staff again this year.
