stopped here once sadly would'nt stay again.if you want gr8 views this is the place.the problem is to get up there it can take as long as 20 mins because you need a rest half way up.the day you get there you are expected to walk up there after travelling for hours.this is not the best if you have had a day out ,the temp can be well above 30 in the hight of summer so remember to have a drink half way up this very steep hill [there is a big tree for shade half way].last summer on the open land last summer it was scattered with any wooden waste [pallets, doors;frames]given by locals to keep the boiler going for your hot water.the rooms are pretty basic and could do with a bit of titivating.toilet bins not emptied every day and there are no big bins outside to get rid of your own rubbish.myself and some of the other holidaymakers had to clean the pool every day.the owner did have a warning and tried his best.it is a shame because the lad who owned them was working all the hours he could but i think it was to much for one young man.but again if you want the views you have walk uphill and the walk to the beach is not so bad going it's downhill all the way.beautiful island a visit is a must several is even better.

  • Advice: torch for arriving after midnight all lights up hill went off ,when we were there

Hill is true very exhausting and the views are amazing but after 2weeks there it can feel like a year. Me and my husband visited on the 2nd June 2010 for our honeymoon and it was unbearable the heat although the locals say it hasnt been this hot for a long time, reached 40oc. I was 7mth pregnant and found the hike to the apartment unbelievable so we hired a jeep 200 euros and it was a god send we found the most amazing beaches of roading up the hills fantastic we found secluded beaches and outstanding views we highly reccommend you do this. We found the room very basic but the locals very friendly and we decided to visit again in 30yrs time if you want a holiday to do nothing and relax go for it!!!

The hill upto the apartments was extreme (not called Cardiac hill for nothing) Apartments very basic not many utensils or crockery what was there didnt look very clean. Service was very haphazard one day we were left with no sheets at all, couldnt find the owners so took some off of their washing line. Didnt use the honesty bar as it was not well stocked (only some cans of beer and soft drinks)Came back one evening to find the master keys to all the apartments on the wall outside our room, eventually found the owners son who did not seem at all peturbed when I handed them back. Pool was ok but towards the end of our 2 weeks was beginning to look very murky. We tended mostly to go to Troulos beach (beautiful) This is my 3rd visit to Troulos as I love the resort have already booked to go back next July.....but not to the Paschalis. Ok if you want a cheapy and are out most of the time.

My girlfriend and I went here on our first holiday away together and we had mixed feelings about the apartments. First of all, the hike up the hill was huge and it was quite difficult, especially when in the middle of the day and the afternoon the temperature was 40+. Quick suggestion is to drink at the bar along the road which is english run, as it's easier to get up there when tipsy. Secondly, the room was very basic, with a bathroom that flooded and wouldn't drain for hours, and the bins weren't changed at all during the stay, so i recommend you keep your carrier bags. Thirdly, the cutlery we had when we went was dirty, and the cupboards which had plates and utensils in where not exactly clean either. And last but not least, the owner of the apartments was very miserable whenever we saw him, but not as much as the cleaner who I am led to believe is his girlfriend, and neither of them were very welcoming at all. However, there was an impressive view of the coast from our balcony, with the sea and the hills in one look. If you're not fussed about your accomodation then by all means stay here, as Troulos is very good, but if you want high class accomodation, this is not for you

... seems as my parents booked this holiday i didnt really no what to expect. they told me there was a slight slope to the apartments but my gosh there was nothing slight about that hill or even mountian. however the hill might not be that bad, i think it was more the temps (in the 50s) that really did push me to the limmit, although looking on the bright side i may of lost a few pounds! :)
the appartments them selves though were all together not that bad the sheet and towls could of been a bit better qaulity but the spectacular vews from the balchony soon made up for them! The pool was fine on the first week we were there lovely peaceful and clean, however the second week the poolwent down hill it was cloudy, full of dead insects and even gave me problems with my eyes.
it was a loverly holiday in my oppinion however i would recomend that this resort is not the place for SCREAMING KIDS !!!, people go there to relax and this was a downside!
the bus also was handy i do have to say although it was a little two close for comfort so we did hire a jeep 55 euros a day form victoria car hiar down the street i would very highly recomend this as you can see alot moreand go to some beaches not asessable via foot :)
all in al skiathos is a loverly place and would highly recomend it just not there appartment unless you want to loose a few pounds!

Do Not Even Consider it...

After reading the brochure i convinced myself that my partner and I would be ok with "cardiac hill". OH MY GOODNESS. It would kill the fittest of mountain goats. !
The room was horrible. 3 different colour towels which looked like they,d been left by prevoius tourists. A non-existant kitchen with a filthy plastic thing stuck to the wall for cutlery that you wouldnt dig the garden with.Bathroom...no comment. !The lights go off on the pathway up at night so you could kill yourself trying to scale the zig-zaggy pathway.
I have to say the brochure did not mis-lead me in any way but SERIOUSLY do not even consider this place.
70 euros for a weeks air-con.all other places was 35.
Total silence round the pool, no music, no atmosphere..NO WAY WOULD I GO AGAIN. !!!

viewed all reviews before holiday and was looking forward to staying at the Paschalis apartments.Generally resort was as expected however accommodation left alot to be desired. The apartments very basic limited cooking utensils and stained mugs which had to be scalded prior to using, also ants all over the draining board, fridge area unwilling to prepare food due to this. Bedding changed once and two hand towels changed twice during our week stay. Air condition is at a cost and is no more than a glorified fan. View from apartments not as breathtaking as described in other reviews and not worth the hike up the hill or the hassle of the climb.Apartments not suitable for families with toddlers or people with breathing/walking difficulties. Apartments in peaceful location and near to beach/restaurants/supermarket that is the only good thing about the apartments although be prepared for mountain climbing to get to the apartments.

This is the worst accommodation I have stayed in. I do not mind basic but I like clean. On arrival the bathroom floor was flooded and there was a horrible mat to soak up the water and a bowl under the leak. I do not think our sheets were even clean and were never very fresh when changed, they also had holes in. I could not put any of my clothing into the draws as they were dirty and dusty. The utensils are rusty and unusable and kept on a very unhygenic wooden rack. The pool was dirty and I wouldnt have gone in it. The general area was shabby and unkempt and needed a makeover. There is a seaview but the rest of the place is so awful you just want to get out and it is not worth the very steep climb!. The two people who run it absolutely stank of BO and didnt change their clothes. If they are unable to keep themselves clean then it is no wonder they cannot keep the apartment clean. I have given it a 3 as the size of the room was good and the seaview and french doors were a bonus. However, I am disgusted that Thomas Cook would place clients at this location.
Skiathos and Troulos however are great and would recommend to anyone. The bus service is so easy to get around and 380 euros to go all the way. We liked Maratha beach which is before Koukanaries as not many people and you got towels as well. Also Banana Beach is very nice and great chill out music late afternoon. Best places to eat in troulos are Troulos Bay Hotel, Villa Rosa and the one opposite with the hanging lanterns. Victoria bar is a nice bar. Did not like Nectar Ambrosia or Varelli restaurants. The dog santuary is quite a walk but well worth a visit and take a dog for a walk.
Would also recommend chartering a yacht for a day. We would recommend Pegusus with Captain Dimitris (you will find him on the harbour in Skiathos). It was 50 euros each but we had coffee and croissants for breakfast and later, frappe. Stopped for lunch and was cooked meatballs and spaghetti, greek salad and wine and in the afternoon fruit. When we arrived back at 1700hrs he took us to a bar and bought us Tequila Sunrise. Stopped at about 3 different beaches and you can swim ashore or go in the dinghi. Our best day out and great value for money on a 42ft yacht with just 6 people.
Beware of the club prices on the harbour, charged us 10 euro for an orange juice and tiny bottle of beer. Ask prices before you buy!
Skiathos town fab, Rock n roll bar good but pricey but best pub in one of the back streets is called the Old Port House and beer is only 2 euros and a good atmosphere.
Loved Skiathos and would definitely go back, but NOT TO PASCHALIS!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot understand why the other reviews appear good as everyone else there was complaining as well. You've been warned.

We stayed at Paschalis in May 2009.The appartments are at the top of an EXTREMELY steep track, and I mean EXTREMELY.However the views from the top are worth the climb. The owners and their son are very friendly. The bar and the honesty system work very well. Its a pity they dont do middday snacks, they could make a fortune.Everyone at the appartments were very friendly and easy going. We hired a car from Victoria Car Rentals,[he was great] .He described our Toyota as a tin of cans.We ate most nights ay the Troulos Bay Hotel. The food was superb and the view to die for.One evening we watched dolphins strut their stuff as we had our stiffado.Skiathos is not the most "greek" of the islands, but if you want a beach holiday on the most beautiful island I have been to then Skiathos is the place for you.The beaches are superb and the waters unbelievably clear. Please visit the Monasteries and the dog rescue centre if you can.If for nothing else the view is worth the effort.

  • Advice: No centre as such but loads of bars and tavernas

Apartments are basic, clean, and in a most gorgeous hillside setting.
Clean towels and sheets on arrival and then mid-week.
The hill to the apartments is steep but you do get used to it.
Lovely, quiet and peaceful.
If you want more liveliness just catch one of the buses which run really regularly into Skiathos town.
It was one of the most relaxing holidays I have ever had.

Beautiful Skiathos

I spent a week at these apartments with my two children.
The apartments are basic but well maintained. We had clean sheets and towels on arrival and then mid-week.
The pool is great with wonderful views of the sea and the mountains of the mainland.
A ten minute walk up a steep hill ensures that you are away from any noise on a night, but if you want to party then it's a quick bus ride into Skiathos main town and there's plenty going on there.
I will definitely go back again.

  • Advice: Great beaches and friendly atmosphere
  • Activities: Tavernas on the beach are great and the boat trips fab.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Paschalis apartments in Troulos. Had a brilliant time, the appartments are very clean if basic and set up a hill with fantastic views and sunsets. Pool and honesty bar are very good. Owners live on site and are a fantastic greek family... Skiathos in general is not very greek, mostly full of english holidaymakers. Would not recommend this Island in July and August..... it sinks under the weight (reps words not mine).
