This is the third time we have stayed at the Babis my daughter loves it there. Rooms are always clean and it is perfect for what we needed- a base. Pool was great and owners lovely. Our only worry is that now Kosmar have gone what is going to happen to the Babis? It is a shame for all these family run places.
There is a lovely shallow beach just a few minutes walk from the Babis and sometimes you get goats walking there!
Not far from the Babis there are great restaurants and supermarkets are close by for essentials like fresh bread and milk.
There were four of us and we had a double aparment with kitchen/diner and bathroom. It was perfect for what we needed.
My daughter enjoyed her early morning dip in the pool and after our days out we had to be back for her last dip of the day!
We love it!

I went to Babis with my familt and I really enjoyed it The rooms were a decent size and airy. The pool was very clan and we spent basically all our time in it. It was a great holiday the staff were polite and friendly and also very helpful. The nearest big town is a bout a fifteen minute walk away, so it is a relly good place to stay I mad some friends I'll never forget there it was a fantastic holiday.

WE HAVE BEEN HERE FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS ( AND ONCE BEFORE IN ANOTHER APT.)
IF YOU WANT A QUIET , QUALITY HOLIDAY...THIS IS THE PLACE . THE BABIS , OWNER BABIS , SON AND DAUGHTER RUN A BEAUTIFUL PLACE. THEY ARE A GREAT FAMILY. THE BABIS IS SPOTLESS AND QUIET. IT IS APPROX 1/2 MILE TO TOWN CENTRE...ON THE WAY THERE ARE QUALITY RESTAURANTS...TRY THE NICHOLAS JUST 150 YDS AWAY..EXCELLENT .
PEFKOS ITSELF IS LOVELY..FULL OF GOOD RESTAURANTS....NO DISCOS !!!!!!!! LOVELY BEACH......HAVE LATE LUNCH AT LEES BEACH BAR TAVERNA ON THE BEACH OVERLOOKING THE SEA....AT 3-0 --4-0 THE SUN HITS THE SEA AND IT TURNS INTO GLITTERING DIAMONDS ...HONEST....GIVE THE OWNER ..KOSTAS ..MY REGARDS...GREAT FOOD....ALSO TRY THE ROCK GARDEN BAR RUN BY YYANNI ....ASK FOR A PEFKOS MEDECINE (GIN AND TONIC)....TELL HIM LAWRENCE SENT YOU...!
THE ONLY NEGATIVE I CAN GIVE IS KOSMAR......YOU ARE TOO DEAR...3 YEARS AGO I PAID 1450 POUNDS......NOW ITS 2400 POUNDS !!!! RECESSION ???.....if kosmar read this great....., but we now cannot afford it.....but anyone who can ....GO..
BY THE WAY WE HAVE 2 KIDS THIS IS THE SAFEST PLACE EVER.

4 of us stayed at Babis September 07, we found it to be our best holiday, the room was for 4, S/C, and basic. Very clean and well looked after, the pool side was clean and tidy we spent every moment in the pool. There is a good Breakfast/ lunchtime menu which we used a fair few times and the Mythos still tastes as good as ever. We are looking to go again 2008. The only disappointment was there was no Greek Night held by the owners which would have been good.
Ok it was a little way from the main street but the exercise does you good, so if you have kiddies (although the Babis is great and has a small pool next to the large one), daddy will end up carrying them, although you could also get a taxi as there are plenty at a cheap rate.
If you get chance go to Lindos, stunning place and Rhodes Old Town is fab. Take a taxi to Lindos and the bus to Rhodes as parking in Rhodes when you dont know the place, is manic. Have a great time and YAMAS

Ditto Mr Wheeler, some apartments were fine but some were awful which is why there is a difference of opions of the Babis, when we asked to be moved we were given a room that was worse it had a very run down fridge, mould on the bathroom walls and nightly vists from the local cockroaches.
The Kosmar rep was useless.

Just returned from the Babis and found them to be quite pleasant. The rooms were spacious, airy, very clean and modern.
The location of the apts is considerably outside the town centre; on two occasions we chose to get a taxi back.
The Babis has a small pool and an equally small snack/bar area. However. in Pefkos you are invited to use any hotel or apartment facilities you choose and we chose to use the Pefkos Village Resort which is next to the Babis, were the facilities are excellent and food and drinks are cheaper.
A word of warning if you are going with Kosmar. We arrived at eight o.clock on the Sunday morning and were told to vacate our rooms the following Saturday at midday and had to wait 15 hours for our pick-up. So we only actually spent 6 nights in our apartments. And, once again, had to rely on the Pefkos Village for a shower before our depature.
Pefkos is a very nice resort with a good selection of bars and such; the people are very friendly.
Take note that Greece is not a cheap holiday destination anymore. It is actually more expensive to eat, drink and certainly shop than the UK, especially with the Euro currently at 81 pence.
All in all the Babis and Pefkos is a good place to holiday.

Must just write and add to the comments I’ve read about the Babis.
We have stayed at the Babis twice. May 2003. July 2006 and are returning again in June 2007.
The accommodation is basic but clean and we have never encountered any probs when staying there.
The family are very friendly and Valantis(the son) and Frosini( the daughter) made our stay last year very welcoming... in fact it’s like going home!
The centre of Pefkos is a 20 min walk away with a variety of bars and tavernas to suit all ages and requirements.
The added bonus to staying in Pefkos is that it is only a 10 min taxi ride to Lindos and the same to Lardos... two very different nights and resorts!

I have to say that it was my first time in Rhodes and my first time booking through Kosmar.
The studio apartment that me and my girlfriend stayed in was to say the least at big let down. It was small, dark and lacked privacy. The bathroom was in need of a good clean as well.
The onsite facilities were limited and the pool was small but very clean.
When we spoke to our tour rep about our room, she would only be prepared to move us to another apartment (because they thought there was nothing wrong with the room!) if we coughed up another 100 euros!

It was a fair walk into Pefkos itself (about 20mins) which is a lovely place with very friendly people.
I would recommend Pefkos to anyone just don't book through Kosmar or stay at Babis.

We stayed at Babis for a week. Found the accommodation at reasonable standards for a small family run business.
We stayed in a two bed roomed apartment overlooking the pool, and also a fantastic view of the sea. Pool was of a good size, and the pool bar served a variety of freshly cooked food.
The owners came to say goodbye while we waited for our transport to the airport.
It was only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre o Pefkos, and a 2 - 3 minute walk to the beach with a lovely taverna on the way.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday and will be going back very soon.
