The Maria apartments were typically Greek which means basic.
There were two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles. In addition there was a bathroom with a very basic shower (without a curtain) and a kitchenette which was very, very basic, although very clean.
The bed was very uncomfortable and after 14 nights of sleeping on it, I was ready for my own bed back home!
The air conditioning was not cheap (over 100 euros for two weeks). When it was switched on at night, you soon became cold so, you switched it off. Then you became boiling hot! It was hard to regulate it!
The apartments are in need of updating, all very 70's with brown melamine fittings and basic, cheap furniture!
However, the owner Maria and her husband, were great! Very polite and kept us supplied with grapes from their garden, which was very kind of them.
Haraki it self is a wonderful resort, very quiet and peaceful. The kids were able to wonder and explore without us parents being fearful for them. Carlos's bar is great too (its right above the beach) very good food and drink, great value and quality!

Having been to Greece many times, including Rhodes on a number of occasions, I'd say that Haraki is probably in the in the top 10 of any place I've been on any of the islands. The major attraction is the absence of the kind of people who complain about the 'basic' nature of the accommodation. What do people expect: dishwashers or power showers or perhaps Sky+ amd PS3 in the rooms? " too much 70's melamine......." what are they like, IT'S GREECE! Maria's is absolutely fine with no complaints. We had a problem with a lack of hot water on the first night when we stayed there, which was fixed within hours, no problem. Maria is a lovely person and very friendly and the location of the apartments could not be faulted. We used to visit Haraki for the day / evening from other resorts but we now stay there every time we go to Rhodes as it has everything. Still a few too many football shirts and beer bellies ( and that's just the women!) but with a bar like 'JACKS' encouraging it , what can you do? Thankfully there's plenty there for the rest of us, like Bottoms Up with it's great music who like nothing more than relaxing days on the beach, good food and drink at night and no traffic to dodge in the village centre.
