This is the first time that I have been on holiday with my children so was quite nervous but was made to feel welcome from the beginning. The rooms were basic but clean and tidy. The maid service was good. It was a joy to find out that there was no fight for sunbeds next to the pool and the atmosphere was so relaxed. The barman was superb and made everybody feel welcome. It was in a quiet location and right opposite the supermarket so it made it ideal for us. I want to book now for next year and will defintely go back.

" Very nice looking building, i repeat... "

Very nice looking building, i repeat what others and say the pictures on the internet do it no justice. Studios are basic but kept clean everyday except Sundays, my only problem with the studios is the fact they have no actual cooking equipment even though the hotel is self catered, the only cooking appliance we had was a toaster and kettle! We got a fridge though which was a plus! Air conditioning is available at a cost of 40 Euros, but well worth the money!
Friendly staff who are always helpful however the pool staff do not allow you to bring your own food and drink to the pool area, bit of a rip off really! Pool is very nice, sunbeds ok, however they could have done with more parasols as these were a scarce item!
The hotel has a bar, we did not use it so cannot comment, do not know if the hotel had a restaurant even because we preferred to eat out (We reccommend Sagittarius just down the road, very nice!).
Hotel is good location away from the centre of Tingaki meaning you get a quiet sleep!
We reccommend Tingaki as a holiday location for families and couples, whether we would stay in Sunset again is debatable! Do not take this as a bad sign of the hotel, we just don't think we would go there again!
Overall the hotel was good enough for the week in which we stayed!!

When we looked on the website before we went there was not that many pictures of the
Sunset, the pictures that we did see of the Sunset did it no justice.
As we pulled up to the Sunset we were really surprised the building was lovely and we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist.
When we first got to the room which was number 228 we were quite surprised it was very basic but homely, when we opened our curtains in the morning we were pleasantly surprised, the view was better than any picture. We had a view of the pool, to the left was a sea view and to the right was a view of the mountains, breathtaking!
Pool facilities were also very clean and we did not have any trouble there what so ever, the pool bar man was very friendly and helpful.
The prices for the air-conditioning (which is very much needed) and a safety deposit box are well worth the money.
Staff were very helpful and always willing to help.
Lovely and a great experience.

The apartments were basic but very clean. The pool was lovely and the pool bar attendant Noah was definitely the friendliest of the staff.
Tingaki is a wonderful place small but friendly and a bustling little village. The views are not to be missed and fantastic, as are the sunsets. The beach is second to none spotlessly clean absolutely lovely.
It is recommended to hire a quad as the island of Kos has loads of villages that are worth seeing and the Greek drivers are very careful around tourists beeping as the pass.
The bars and tavernas are lovely and I recommend mikis bar, as named after the man himself he is friendly and there to help and advise he is a lovely man.
So impressed am I with Tingaki I am planning to go again in September for 2 weeks.
Though I may try a different hotel, as the rooms 119 to 123 are placed above the laundry and this is noisy about 730 am, was something I could do without. And my neighbour was playing music at a low rate well before 10 pm and was told to turn it off.
Shame they never showed the same concern about the children allowed to run riot around the pool by their parents!

" We have been heading to Tingaki on... "
Submitted By: Mrs J Watson
We have been heading to Tingaki on and off now for about 10 years and have visited there about 5 times.
We got a great deal with Kosmar to the Sunset which, we had heard good things about in the past and we were very happy from the moment we got there.
The family that run the hotel are superb, ever so friendly & helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them.
We are what you might call elderly and we had booked an apartment, as we were given one round the back of the hotel with the other apartments. Not really a problem but such a walk for me and my old legs.
We asked our rep Cass if we could move and she said she would speak to reception for us as all the rooms in the front block were just one room hotel rooms.
Nether the less, the hotel happily moved us and even asked the young man working on the snack bar to move our bags for us.
I cannot praise the Kosmar rep or the staff enough - Superb!

This place is Very Good. (Do not be put off by the photos!)
We were due to go the Ilios in Tingaki but were bumped to the Sunset by Argo (Medlife) holidays 2 weeks before we traveled.
Looking at the Sunset photos (that all you are looking at on various websites) we were concerned about where we were going as we are real sticklers when it comes to cleanliness, position, facilities etc and (even Health & Safety) and the white main block that is shown and occasional pool shot on some websites do not look particularly inviting however. What a contrast when you arrive!
First impressions as you pull up are of a modern well kept and better class set up than we had thought. The reception area too was modern and welcoming and the bar area (half inside half outside was modern and attractive and clean and spot on).Our room was beyond the pool area in one of the two storey blocks. The room was clean, modern (bijou in size) and perfectly fine for us (2 adults + 11yr and 5yr old girls) with a balcony and a sea view beyond (Sunset is perhaps 800m from beach - easy stroll).
The pool is large and very clean and tidy (Plenty of sun beds and no need to get up super early to put towels down - nice that). The road you see on some photos is never used and has no impact on the pool area whatsoever. The Poolside bar food is exceptional and hygiene is paramount (Yannis who looks after that area is courteous and polite).
The mix of people was spot on - families and couples (70% British 30% Dutch)
Maid service prompt every day but Sunday - no issues.
A very short stroll gets you into the bars and restaurants leading down to an impeccable beach which is fantastic - the famous breeze wasn't noticeable very much so don’t fear it.
Mosquitoes could be a problem but again 'forewarned' is 'forearmed' and we had minimal issues.
The sign of a place is always would you go back - Yes is the answer (missing out on the Ilios was a huge favour to us and we are glad of it).
The apartments are run very professionally by a family and staff who all speak exceptional English and were so helpful in everyway (Thank you to all but especially Tony and his brother and sister and Yannis and Nick were who looked after my family impeccably).
Go for it and fear not! (But book with Kosmar or First Choice).

" This was a last minute holiday so my... "
Submitted By: KJ/Ak Hatherley/Dallison
This was a last minute holiday so my partner and I were very unsure as to what to expect also as we had never visited Greece before. As we arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised from the off set. We had requested a pool view which we were told is not definite but we got our request even though we had arrived in the early hours and we were very happy with the results.
We were happy not just with the hotel, but also the pool and everything in Tingaki was beautiful. We hired a moped which enabled us to see other places such as Kos Town and Zia which we would recommend for the lovely scenery.
We were dreading going after what we heard about the place but it is one of the best places my partner and I have visited. Tingaki was quiet but we would definitely recommend the hotel and place and we will be visiting again sometime in the future.
Overall it was a great holiday.

" Fantastic, for the second year... "
Submitted By: Mr I.P. McCambridge
Fantastic, for the second year running we have just had a really lovely week in Tingaki. It offers everything you could possibly want, the beach is beautiful, you can walk out into the clear blue water or just lay back and bask in the sun, the sun beds are some of the best we have ever had and at only 5 euros for 2 beds and an umbrella they are a bargain for the day. It may be apparent that i love all things Greek, and I’ve been lucky enough to visit a number of Greek islands, but Kos offers all you could want and more!
The tavernas and bars are great, offering just about anything that takes your fancy, the staff are just typical Greek, they know how to make you feel welcome and they certainly do that.
Our stay at The Sunset Aparthotel was great, nice clean room, friendly helpful staff, great fun watching the barman entertaining the ladies and no doubt breaking a few hearts along the way. The pool is excellent, and the pool area is well maintained generally, very relaxing! A nice stroll to the beach in the morning and then back to the hotel pool mid afternoon to just lay back and chill till the sun goes down. The pool bar offers everything from breakfast to burgers and salads, some fantastic looking ice cream combinations and the usual cocktails, beers and minerals. What more could you ask for? Kos town is just a short hop down the road, the buses are frequent and cheap, but car hire was very affordable, and you can take in some really breathtaking views when you drive up into the hills, and explore some of the more out of the way beaches. I would highly recommend a trip out to Paradise beach and you will find out straight away just why it got its name.
Kosmar know Greece and its people, the reps are great, they are there to help and advise but never pushy! Its your holiday to do what you want and its refreshing to find a company that respect that fact!! Nice one Kosmar. I highly recommend Tingaki, and Kos in general, do yourself a favour and be Greek for a couple of weeks!!!!!!!!!!!
