Zeus Hotel Reviews
" idylic ! "
Submitted By: peter houghtonWe both absolutely love Kefalos and feel this wonderful "inner peace " as soon as we wake up on day one. The family are delightful , making everyone welcome in thier spotlessly clean hotel. The pool area is beautiful and never crowded , drinks priced very competitively and nothing to much trouble. We eat in Hubs ,captain Johns and savvas just across the road at the back of Jims supermarket (they are both lovely as well).Beware of "honest john " at Trust rentals as he is a wide boy who would steal from his own grandmother , Katerina is cheaper and more honest.
I could not speak more highly of the Zeus and the family and find it surprising that some people have to travel to a Greek island to discover that hollow doors make a noise when you slam them!.Keep it up Maria , your sort cannot fail to succeed
Advice: perfect for couples who enjoy beach and eating/drinking
Activities: Hubs , Savvas ,Captain Johns ,Bravo,
Good for: Beach

Submitted By: Miss J AdamsWe arrived on the 28th of may, very early in morning to very friendly and happy employees. Our room was on the 1st floor, and yes the doors do bang, but it doesnt disturb you at all. The rooms were very clean and well kept, the only tiny problem was we asked for extra pillows on the first day but never got them.
The food in the bar in the day time, is really nice and you are always greated with the warmest of smiles were ever you look.
We were by far the youngest couple but there was couples from uni there up to around 70! And it suited everyone!!!
the night life was great as we got friendly with all the reps, and the resteraunts were TO DIE FOR! gorgeous!! the aussie bar and sydneys are fantastic!!! the bubble beach is also fantastic you have to go there! the water sports are veryyyy cheap.
I would definatly recommend this hotel. if you go you will not be disapointed!
Its great weather, great people, food and atmosphere. Definatly would go back again!!!!!

The rooms are spotlessly clean with a large balcony or terrace (we had a terrace). On the website it does mention that some rooms are "semi-basement" we had one of these and it just meant that the wall of our terrace was only slightly higher than ground level. But it was a lovely sun trap in the afternoon. Bathrooms aren't huge, which is to be expected, but they are perfectly adequate. Beds very perfectly fine, not the luxury you would expect from a more pricey hotel but perfectly adequate. You can always ask for an exrtra pillow if one is not enough.
STAFF
All of the hotel staff were excellent Zak and his family will do evrything they can to ensure you have a great holiday. The guys behind the bar are good fun and always very polite. And I could not the fault the cleaners, they worked so hard, from morning till night, but always had time for a smile!
HOTEL IN GENERAL
I have to say previous reviews comment on the noise at this hotel. I can honestly say that I never experienced anything like this. I am a relatively light sleeper, and was not disturbed during our stay. Maybe the position of the rooms makes a difference. But I really did not find noise to be an issue. Breakfast is basic, a roll tea/coffee and squash. But this is sufficient, and if you want more than this, there are plenty of places near by for a fry up. (Try T42, this was our favourite for breakfast). Drinks aer very reasonably priced, and their milkshakes in the hotel are delicious! Foos is also great value with a greek salad only costing around 3 euros.
RESORT
Kefalos is a very quiet resort with a very warm inviting atmosphere! Captain John's and Harry's are great for eating out. As is the little place down the side road by Jim's supermarket I had lovely fresh mackerel!! Demitri and Anthoula at Jim's supermarket are so helpful, always happy to lend advice! Hiring transport is a must, and with how quiet the roads are you don't feel as though you are taking your life in your hands! We hired scooters frot he whole week which only costed 30euros each plus insurance. we hired from Trust, but would not recommend as they tried to claim we had damaged the cooter despite the fact we had pointed out prior to hiring them that they were quite badly scratched. This was however resolved and did not cost us any more. But the added hassle was not welcomed by us! Proces in Kefalos are very reasonable costing around 20-25 euros for a meal with drinks, and varying drink prices dependant on where you went. Melody bar being one of the cheapest along with Maria's.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and the repeat custom at the hotel speaks volumes! A great famuily run hotel in a great resort! Top Marks all round!

Submitted By: Mrs S RamplinWe actually felt like virgin travellers at the hotel as so many of our fellow guests had been there not just once or twice but with one particular couple nine times and i for one believe that that alone speaks volumes for the hotel.
Kefalos itself is a paradise of friendliness, excellent food and amazing scenery. I can not think of a better place to go be it first, second, tenth time to Greece. Go to Hotel Zeus and you will come away feeling as though you have met some very special people as well as having an amazing holiday. It is not a hotel for groups of young single groups but very much a couple/young family hotel.

" Brilliant!
My boyfriend... "
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Zeus Hotel and it was fantastic!
Admittedly, the rooms are basic, like everywhere in Greece, but they and the whole hotel were extremely clean and tidy. Maria at the pool bar was lovely, as were the rest of the family, and really made our stay memorable.
I would have to recommend the Rainbow's resturant, about a ten minute walk from the Zeus. The food and service were excellent, huge portions for minimal prices (2 main meals, 2 desserts and 2 rounds of drinks came to 20euro). Mikalos and Yannis the waiters were also excellent and taught us greek every night!
I would also recommend the Dolphin Rock Bar, just over the road from the Zeus. If you like rock music and cocktails then this is the place! Quite expensive, at 4.50euro for one cocktail, but so worth it! The staff here, Manilos and his brother Costa also made our stay memorable, and even offered us jobs there at the end of the holiday!
Overall, the Zeus Hotel was excellent, i can only see two downsides:
*The breakfast was not up to much, just a bread roll, jam and tea/coffee or orange juice. I'm not complaining as this was ample, but there was no variety so we found ourselves having a cooked breakfast at T.4.2. just around the corner which was lovely.
*The Kosmar Rep for the hotel was terrible. She was very rude and I only ever saw her twice throughout the week when she should have been there at least 5 times! Things were that bad that the First Choice Rep knew our names by the end of the week, even though we didn't travel with them!
However, despite two downsides, the Hotel Zeus is a really lovely place to go for a holiday in Kos, i cannot think of anywhere else I would have rather had been for that week and i would love to return!

" ZEUS HOTEL is FANTASTIC!
June-08 From the moment we arrived we were struck by how clean and tidy the hotel is. The Lounge/Bar area is very comfortable, the room was a good size and well layed out, the pool is superb! Probably the best located hotel in Kefalos being set back away from the main roads and farly private, little bit away from the main centre of bars/restaurants, but there is plenty of quality choice nearby and the Beach is a just a short walk away!
The Owners, Staff and Family were very nice and friendly! they layed on a Bbq/Greek night which was great fun!
We couldnt have wished for a better place!
RECOMMENDATIONS:
GOOD EATING
RAINBOW TAVERNA RESTAURANT : Is a must visit! Fantastic Food and Quality Service at a Good Price! along with the biggest size portions around. Mike and Ianis are very welcoming and entertaining. Try the BBQ Chicken!

THINGS TO DO

" What a great place!!!!!

Yes the hotel can be a little noisey BUT the people are brill. We had are very nice time the local cafe' and bars were very good and the beach was great.
We had serveral days out on the local buses to Kos which we found to be ok, at the end of the day this was just a bus ride which took us about a hour. You can see more of the island in a car but for people on a tight buget it was great.
We visited the ruins in kos which were very interesting but one of the major sites was closed due to repairs(but that will give us something to see next time).
The local resturant owners were very welcoming and the prices were very good too.
If you want a basic holiday with a nice beach and nice host's go here.
WE WILL BE BACK!

Submitted By: Mr B DunbarZak & Maria and the family run this hotel like clockwork. My wife and I have stayed here before and will do so again as have many guests who return year after year.
The resort itself is just lovely and the many restaurants and tavernas serve up good food at keen prices.
If you want a good breakfast try the Riverside Cafe, run by Jean from Scotland. 5 Euros for full 'English' which includes black pudding.
The Memory bar down by the harbour is a comfortable hang out for a pre meal drink in the evening.
The Hotel bar can be quite lively until late at night. Nick don't bother trying for the X factor, as Simon Cowell wouldn't appreciate your singing voice.
Looking forward to our next visit already.
Yassou.

Bar area was very comfortable and airy. The friendly staff were very helpful, Thanks again for lift up to village for the chemist!!
The rooms extremely clean and chambermaids NOT intrusive at all.
The resort gets busier with restaurants and bars as you walk towards the harbour which is probably only a good 20mins away.
We enjoyed trying different restaurants in the week, they all do Greek specialities.
Antonios/Four seasons was lovely as you could sit at the beach/shoreline and waitresses very charming!
We also went to the small cove of Limionas which is very peaceful (got a great taverna)
and some ducks!!
The main beach in Kefalos was very spacious and relaxing .....Sunbeds spread out so you don't feel crowded.
Would recommend Kefalos as a good resort to anyone NOT wanting all-night 'clubs' but still wanting a night out! But as the island is small you can get about to visit the other resorts.
Would return to KOS <KEFALOS<ZEUS HOTEL!

Submitted By: Mrs J R THRESHERDrinks and snack bar food cheap (and very good) rooms just fine. At the price we paid for two weeks no real complaints.
The only gripe I would have is inconsiderate people slamming doors late at night, although in a place that is all tiles. Ceramics, hard surfaces and no carpets you are bound to get some noise.
We had a great time and met some top people there. Many had been back several times which says it all really. We would certainly go back. Hats off to Zak and Maria.

The hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone wanting to either chill out, venture out and about, and explore the island. Myself and my friend had just gone to chill out and relax, and the hotel was just the ticket. Its spotlessly clean and tidy, it was quiet, its an ideal spot away from the bars and restaurants (the walking distance was not far at all). The owners most definately take pride in this little hotel. The pool is cleaned every day and there were always sun beds available. The owners are very helpful and of course the son Nikolas was very entertaining for all the guests who were in the bar in the evening (or even if you had spotted him in a bar elsewhere!!). Even when you trundled in at silly a'clock with a knee pouring with blood, Tony was on hand with the plasters and of course bottles of water and crisps... the essentials for a first aid kit.
Breakfasts were basic, with the roll and jam, which were absolutely fine but we tended to venture over to T 4 2 every other day for the breakfasts there after a night on the pop - the place is run by an English couple and they were quite happy for us to have the 'childrens breakfast'!! All very reasonably priced.
Our evenings were spent in the restaurents (Rainbow, Waves, Hippocrates), again all very reasonable with fantastic staff and fantastic food. Then onto the bars, we only tended to favour the bars at our end rather than going to the harbour side - especially after a tip off from our 'reps' stating Sydneys was a good night out on a Friday. They were wrong and we had not gone on holiday to do a quiz at 10pm in a bar ??!!!! We enjoyed 'Players' with the lovely Manilos and his brother, with their very friendly staff and DJ. After the music was turned down and our dancing feet needed to take us elsewhere, we usually ended up in Sebastian 2 where we could just sit and chill and meet lots of different people.
We also ventured to the Greek Night up in the village of Zia which was awesome, Kos Town, Tingaki Beach and again seeing Zia during the day for a spot of shopping. We found the whole Kos experience fantastic and great value for money - having brought cash back home.
Could not recommend this place enough. We certainly go back again.
Advice: Very pretty little town with plenty of things to do and see.
Activities: Rainbow and Hippocrates - Fab food and fab prices!!
Good for: Beach
