Jan 2007, Miss H Goldsworthy

This was our 1st visit to Kos which was recommended to us by friend's that have been a number of times and we enjoyed it very much.
Kosmar had a very cheap deal which we couldn't resist. The flight time's were during the night but realise this is usual when travelling to Greece. I can say though it is worth it.
The rep and driver were very welcoming when we eventually left the over populated and crowded arrival's area. Please note that the one and only shop at the airport would not take notes due to not enough change.

The hotel is in a quiet part of Kefalos, and is very nicely furnished with modern fittings built by the family who run it themselves.
It's only a short walk from the nearest beach, ruins, tavernas, bar's, hire shop and newsagents.
The hotel has a bar, pool and a small child's pool, a snack bar where breakfast is served. All rooms have air conditioning payable locally, hairdryer and terrace/balcony, and all with private shower, WC.

The resort was quite, but we liked it, although it was nearing the end of season.
Baywatch is on the beach front in the middle of the resort for water sports and George is sure to give you a bargain price for doing more than 2 sports.
There are plenty of place's to rent mopeds/quad bikes, car's etc to visit the rest of the Island and Kos town is a must - beautiful. Excursion shops are also scattered around the resort.
For an idyllic day at the beach, travel to the near-by Paradise beach to swim with the fish, soak up the sun and join in or may be watch some of the dare devilish water sports. A boat trip to a near-by volcanic island is well worth booking too.
During the night you can try a different tavernas/restaurant/bar every night as there's so much choice and would recommend the 'Aphrodite' restaurant for an evening meal and to try the local Greek food.
Hope this help's you enjoy a wonderful holiday in Kos, I'd definitely go back.

Oct 2006, Mr M Elrick

This was our first visit to a Greek Island and it was a great holiday. Hotel Zeus (pronounce Zeffs!) is a nice, friendly, family run hotel with a nice atmosphere.
The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and have all you really need for B&B.
The reception and bar area is very nice and the pool is great! One of the warmest pools I have been in and a good size too.
Bar food was good and very cheap, much like the drinks (good cocktails).
The family are lovely and very welcoming and happy to help. Would definitely go back and stay there if going back to Kefalos!

George and I have just returned this...

Sep 2006, Ms L Douglas

George and I have just returned this morning from the Zeus. It was the best holiday we have had for a while. Maria, Zak and the family made everyone feel welcome.
The place was spotless. The rooms were adequate for bed and breakfast, we had a balcony which gave us loads of sun in the afternoon after cooking ourselves at the pool in the morning.
The pool bar did snacks and drinks till around 6pm. It was continental breakfast which was enough for us as we are not great brekkie eaters, it consisted of nice soft rolls, fruit juice, fresh fruit and as much tea and coffee as you could drink, if you asked you also could have toast which was made fresh for you. If you had a lie in there was nice place across the road called T 4 TWO, this was run by an English couple who were lovely and the breakfasts were to die for. In the evening try the Hub which is on the main road to the right when you come out the hotel, they do a mean stefado and Greek meatballs but can’t remember what they are called now.
Zak laughed with me as I was trying to do my Greek. Kalimera is good morning, Kalanichta goodnight. Yammas is cheers. So YAMMAS TO ZAK, MARIA, TONY AND NICHOLAS FOR HIS ENTERTAINMENT. He was so funny, he kept everyone going. Very happy family who are willing to please at anytime. We will be going back again. Last but not least thanks to Manos the barman who was also attentive and willing to please.
If you’re looking for a quite holiday I would recommend the Zeus to everyone. It is a completely mixed crowd and yes I have read about the doors being slammed, it never annoyed us as most of the time it was due to the balcony door being opened. You do hear people walking around as it is marble floors, honestly never annoyed us.
So Zak if you are reading this thanks for letting me have photograph taken with you at reception and will bring it with me next year.

I stayed in hotel zeus a couple of...

Sep 2006, Mr Richard Kieghly

I stayed in hotel zeus a couple of months ago, and would love to go back there. My dad who also came always stays in different hotels, never the same one. But he told me that’s the only hotel he would go back to and stay, as the family that built and own the hotel are very friendly people.
Somebody stated on here that the pool is over crowded by the relatives and friends of the owners, which is WRONG. I was there for 2 weeks, and the relatives and friends of the hotel used the pool about 4 times while I was there. Did anybody staying there mind?... No, because if you get in the pool with them, they will quite pleasantly move away and give you space, they do respect you.
The breakfast is very basic yes, but who wants a 3 course meal for breakfast? The orange juice is watered down, as someone specified, but maybe because it is diluted, and its very thirst quenching, just what you need after a night of drinks and large meals.
The cleaners will give you another pillow if you fold a towel and put it underneath your pillow, the towels are changed daily, and the cleaners do NOT barge into your room, they gently open the door, peak there head round, and even if you’re still in there or asleep, they will go away and come back when you are out.
Too much to explain, free drinks all the time, excellent service, I got along with the son great who was the same age as me, 10 out of 10 hotel, absolutely spotless, very friendly owners & kids.

Aug 2006, Mr Gren Thomas

Having just returned from our holi-bobs at the Zeus for the second year running same weeks each year, I have absolute admiration for the whole family and staff who run it.
Everything is spotless and a very high standard of customer relations is maintained. Knowing its clientele, many of whom come back year after year because of this.
The hotel is immaculate & its surroundings idyllic, you then have the added attraction of being just off the main area of resort but near enough for all the tavernas & restaurants Kefalos has to offer.
A totally relaxing atmosphere both at the hotel & resort as it tends to cater for the less active fraternity. If you want laid back this is the place their so laid back at times their horizontal, this along with beautiful surroundings & scenery make for a totally stress free vacation. I look forward to returning in the near future.

I cannot believe I stayed in the same...

Sep 2005, Ms M Ramsay

I cannot believe I stayed in the same hotel as the only other reviewer I see on this site. I have holidayed on quite a few other Greek Islands, and also on the Greek mainland, and my fortnight’s holiday at Zeus Hotel in Kefalos was one of the best holidays I have ever had.
With the general feel-good sensation at the end of any holiday, I have often said I would return to whichever resort, where-ever, but when it comes to booking another holiday, have not done so. However, this is one experience I have every intention of repeating.
Yes, the hotel is noisy (marble floors and walls echo) and consideration for other guests by not chatting in the corridor, or slamming doors, in the middle of the night is not really a lot to ask, but difficult to do when you’ve just had a great (and cheap) night in the hotel bar. The best advice we gained from other website comments on this hotel was that generally doors slam when the balcony door is also open. We tried very hard, but were not always successful in avoiding that!
It was not an expensive holiday, and we accept that there can be disadvantages through that. However, cleanliness and attention were second to none. Transfer time from the airport is minimal, through good organisation on to coaches at the airport. Car hire charges are very reasonable. Plenty of choices of where to eat in the evening, and everywhere we tried was very enjoyable.
I never felt the need to venture into the pool, being a non-swimmer, but happily lay beside it on many occasions, and never felt that it was inaccessible to me, had I chosen to use it. Nor did I ever hear any adverse comment from any fellow guests regarding over-use by the owners' friends and family.
Sorry if I appear to gush about Zeus Hotel, but I truly had a wonderful holiday, and would hate others to be deterred by the only other, and very negative, comment on your website.

Zeus was the nosiest hotel we have...
4 / 10
Jul 2005, Miss C Sleafer

Zeus was the nosiest hotel we have ever stayed in, in twenty five years of visiting Greek islands.
We could not fault the cleanliness, but if you are not out of your room by 9am the cleaner just bursts in without warning.
The Greek breakfast served at Zeus leaves you hungry to say the least. Avoid the watered down orange too. Also the milkshakes and cocktails are ok if you don’t mind the owners son drinking the leftovers from the mixer.
The swimming pool looked lovely but we could not get near it for friends and relatives of the owners.
Kefalos is a beautiful place to stay as are the people, except in hotel Zeus.
