I stayed at Stella Paradise in November with my husband and 2 year old daughter. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. I felt the Hotel was too far away from the airport, it took over 2 hours to get there. On arrival, the hotel had not received my request to change our... more

Jandia Dunas Paradise resort is fantastic. Take no notice of the bad reviews. We stayed for 3 weeks in Jan 2010 and there is nothing to complain about at all. We stayed in the villas that people complain about. Brilliant. They were spacious and very clean. The bed was... more

I have been reading the reviews for this hotel and am quite shocked by what I have read. I booked through the internet at Thomas Cook in January 2008. We'd been on holiday in the UK in July 2007 and it rained constantly so we thought we'd go abroad. We've been to... more

We booked a 2 bedroom Villa at this hotel for one week. We thought we would stay at the hotel, but the Villas is in another resort, Stella, opposite the street of the hotel. And that resort is only 3 star. It didn't say anything about that at Sunshine's web site. The... more

Very good resort and facilities
Just back from Dunas resort and must say it was very good. Weather was perfect and resort is very clean well laid out and is not in the least bit tacky! We stayed in a villa which was fine but beggining to show signs of age, on half board basis. Food is good but predictable - however no problem at all if only staying for a week as we did. I must say the kids enjoyed the kids club and we all enjoyed the entertainment. The staff work so hard running the kids club by day and then providing the entertainment at night - they are all very talented especially the leader who speaks 4/5 languages and is a great dancer & performer, she is a real star! Pools are great and very clean. Facilities very good. Would certainly go back to this location and resort!
Great Large Complex
We stayed for only 2 nights as part of a week long winter break on an all inclusive basis. We had requested a room on the top floor which got afternoon sun and the reception staff without prompting confirmed that such a room had been allocated; a large modern room with all the usual 4 star facilities overlooking the well maintained and attractive pool area. It appeared to be a quiet time at the hotel which meant there was plently of room in bars and restaurant although we imagine the restaurant could become very busy and crowded in peak season. The food was fine although the Chinese buffet on one of our 2 nights was not to our taste. The drinks on offer mostly included local brands although there were a few known makes. The gardens and layout of the complex are appealling and made for a relaxing break. All in all great value for money.
Realy good value a great place to stay
Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Dunas Paradise Hotel, i booked this break to go with a friend for a chill out week after a hectic Christmas period. Our room was enormous with bath and seperate shower all very clean with a large balcony and a sea view, The resort is large and the gardens are well looked after with peacocks and very well cared for cats roaming aound. The food was plentiful and varied although i must say that the self service hotplates were either too hot and the food was often dried up or they were too cold and the food was luke warm. Having said that there was always a good selection of bread salads cheeses cold meats fresh fruit and desserts. Good all inclusive bars till 11pm. The large pool was heated but we did sit around the bottom pool near the beach as it had a very tropical atmosphere ..and a good bar where lunch was also served. My one bad point was that the entertainment ended at 10.30 so you found that you had to go outside the hotel to bars otherwise go to bed early. We went into the Disco next to the hotel which was very good..children allowed in until midnight but really no one goes there until at least 1am. Im sure the area is more lively in peak season but i think that as there are 2 entertainment venues in the hotel complex they should have at least varied music playing throughout the evening at each. Overall a very good holiday, weather great, staff very helpful and friendly .. i would recommend this hotel.
A Great Hotel At A Great Price
My husband and I booked this hotel as a winter break where all we wanted was to have everything at hand, at a reasonable price so we could do nothing but relax. This hotel exceeded our expectations more than we could ever have imagined, especially considering the relatively low price we paid. The Rooms: Our room was a good sized double with modern furnishings, a large bathroom and a good sized balcony. Everything was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. The Complex: The complex iteself is shared with the Stella Dunas Apartments and is absolutely massive. There are several swimming pools, each with their own bar, tennis courts, peacocks roaming freely around the grounds and even a mini zoo (free for guests of the hotel). Having said this, we did not have any issues with the walk from the hotel to the beach as so many other people have complained about. The walk is no more than 10-15 minutes through pleasant gardens and with so many all inclusive bars along the way we even turned the walk into a free mini bar crawl one afternoon!! If you are really against walking or have small children or elderly people in your party then you can use the mini train to get around. Entertainment: Throughout the day, the animation team provide a variety of activities for those who want to participate. These are all free and range from rifle shooting, tennis, aqua aerobics, table tennis, water polo and a childrens club. Every evening there is a show which to be honest we only watched once as it wasn't really our thing, although plenty of other people really enjoyed it. Other reviewers have complained that everything is in German which was not our experience at all. There were certainly a lot more Germans than any other nationality in the hotel but the staff all spoke several languages and tailored each activity to whoever was in the group. Food: The food was the only slightly weak point of this hotel although it was perhaps one of the better all inclusive buffets we have had. Breakfast was great; plenty of fresh bread, jams, meat, cheese, cereals, yogurts, fruit and cooked breakfast. Lunch was not too bad with a fantastic selection of salads and again great bread and cheeses. The only issue for us was the "hot" food served at lunch and dinner. This was at best luke warm and at worst stone cold. Because of this we ate breakfast and lunch in the hotel every day but ate out for dinner most nights. We still felt that we got good value for money by doing this. The Resort: The hotel is situated in the resort of Jandia which has a fantastic beach and a row of shops, bars and restaurants. I really enjoyed shopping as there were a good range of shops from a Maceys to a market every Thursday morning. The restaurants were ok, mostly Italians and Chinese, but for better quality and more authentic food such as seafood and tapas try Morro Jable. We walked there a couple of times which is quite a long (30-45 mins) but pleasant walk and we got a taxi other times (3-4 euros each way). Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly return to this hotel.
Fantastic Holiday!
We originally booked 10 nights at the Stella Dunas which on sunmaster.com was stated as a 4* hotel, after research we discovered that there was more than one hotel on the resort, the Dunas Paradise which was the 4* and Stella Dunas was 3*. On arrival we were dropped at the Paradise reception and enquired about upgrading to this 4* hotel, they were very happy to put us up straight away for the 10 nights for an additonal charge of 15 euros a night. The hotel was lovely, very clean and modern, the staff were also very friendly and happy to help with and queries. Our room was enormous, and we had our own private balcony with a sea view. The resort itself is enormous and i still dont think after 10 days of exploring we even got near to seeing it all. There are 6 swimming pools to choose from all with pool bars. The resort is set in a mass of palm trees and there is a long road which leads to the beach, which takes about 5-10 mins from the Dunas Paradise but is all within the resort. There is a zoo also in the resort, but this was closed during our stay. The entertainment was fantastic, with a different show on every night, except saturdays all of which were great fun, we saw shows such and Grease and We will rock you all with their own individual twist. There was also plenty to do in the day everything from aqua aerobics, darts to spanish lessons. The food was also good, with a wide variety on offer. It changed on a daily basis and had a selection of more luxurious foods inc king prawns, mussels, squid etc. Jandia is very close and there is a range of restaurants, bars and shops, inc Next and Gap! There is also a local market every thursday! Be warned the items in the shops may actually be cheaper than those in the market! All in all a really good holiday. Reading other reviews there seems to be lots of people moaning (they obv have far too much time on their hands) about the size of the resort, but it clearly states the size on website and if ppl are too lazy to walk then there is a train which runs round the entire resort until 7.30pm! A fab holiday and would definately recommend a visit!
cold\cold food
what a wonderful resort we thought as we all got off the coach. 4 star hotel all inclusive this was going to be a holiday to remember. And do we remember oh yes! The actual resort was lovely it wasn't until we hit the restaurant that the trouble started. my family eat all sorts Indian, chinese, greek but none of us could eat the food here it looked ok but no matter what time of day we hit the restaurant the food was always cold or undercooked, it was awful. I ended up taking our family of six out for the last five days of our 7 day holiday for a meal in a local restaurant. Wow what a difference hot food and a smile on everyones face. Lucky for us we took some emergency cash but for some people who go all inclusive don't take money with them because you don't expect to have to buy your meals its a disgrace. Oh yes i must add 5 out of 6 of us had upset stomachs for the first 2 days until we ate out of the resort, and the amount of people round the pool that were talking of people with upset stomachs was unbelievable. it goes without saying don't go
Stunning Resort
Just got back from a week all-inclusive at this lovely hotel. Lovely big rooms that were cleaned every day. Gardens and surrounding area well maintained. 10 min walk to the beach which has white sand and clear blue water. Hotel complex has a zoo and gym onsite. Entertainment every night with friendly staff. Going all-inclusive we were worried what the food would be like, but, we were pleasantly surprised. Menu was varied and food was fresh. Would definately go back, only draw back was that we only went for 1 week.
Lovely place
I have just come back from Dunas Paradise with my partner, I stayed in the villas and they where lovely, really pretty just like paradise so ask to stay in them if you can! The complex was very large and there was a few swimming pools to choose from all very nice and clean. The rooms where spotless and everyone was friendly. The food wasnt wonderful but it was ok you wont starve! But apart from that it was lovely, I want to go back now! I was a bit worried after reading the other reviews but im so glad I went now. the resort is lovely and the beach is only 10mins away. I loved it!
Loved this Hotel
We have just returned home after a week staying in the Dunas Hotel Paradise Jandia, Fuerteventura. We had a brilliant week, the rooms were clean, large and air conditioned. the staff were very helpfull and the food was excellent(this coming from a very picky eater) The kids club was great and they had a brilliant week so that means so did we. No whinging The entertainment at night was very professional and well done. We are booking to go back again in October.
Great exercise - if you like hill walking and stair climbing...
We paid £250 each for 7 nights half board at Stella Dunas Jandia Aparthotel (which is the same place as the Dunas Paradise Hotel and the Stella Dunas Jandia Resort Villas). It's an all inclusive type resort that's aimed at (German) families predominantly. We were pleased that we didn't spend more. To be fair, we enjoyed our holiday, thanks to the sunshine, the swimming pools and the beaches. That's all we went for so we got what we expected. I'd have been disappointed if we'd paid more or gone all inclusive as the food was nothing special to say the least. Good:- Beaches are lovely - really really good - wide, sandy, beautiful beaches, no hagglers to bother you at all. Very relaxing. Great views from most of the rooms I think of the lovely beach, lighthouse etc Complex is opposite the beach - can be accessed via an underpass but the road isn't very busy though Lots of swimming pools, good selection of sun loungers, pool bars etc. Great activities and entertainment for children - mini club, pool, zoo etc. Tennis courts, a 'gym', pool aerobics, volleyball etc - easy to be active. Fridge, TV and hairdryer in the room, 2 euros to use the safe Most people there are unfortunate enough to be staying on an all inclusive basis - we didn't, however we did help ourselves to free drinks, coke, wine etc in the restaurant at night, no one complained!! Felt we were owed it especially since we rarely ate there. Bad:- Food was minging - especially the evening buffet, we ate out instead most of the time. The breakfasts were OK. Resort is huge and as a result there is lots of walking around - to get to breakfast etc. - lots of stairs and steep slopes, as well as some lifts, even a cable car(!) that broke after the first day we were there - it looked very old and when we were in it i was a bit worried it would break down Definitely not for the infirm, elderly, buggies or lazy people!!! Service left a little to be desired No air con in the rooms No lift to our 3rd floor hotel room - we were knackered the entire time!! And we go to the gym three times a week! Tip:- Walk along the beach / paseo maritimo to Morro el Jable - lovely walk (30 mins or so) lovely collection of tapas restaurants etc
