me and my family went on this holiday for 2 week all inclusive and to be honest i think all the negative reviews are so wrong! firstly a 4 star hotel in fuerteventua is equivelent to a 2 star in the uk in which it is alot better than a 2 star uk hotel.
the staff are very friendly so long your friendly with them !this hotel and villas is a very clean place maids clean room everyday and fresh linen on beds everday NOT CONCRETE BEDS AS STATED IN ANOTHER REVIEW! as for the food i am a fussy eater and believe you me there is a hell of a lot to choose from all freshly made !the views are just out of this world i have been all over the world and this is the best place by far and will be returning this year!the beach is great only down fall is nuduty but if you read up on your hotel then you will know this as it is not a secret.there are shops along the front of the hotels were they do great pizza best i have ever tasted also a good chinease reaustrant FANTASTIC! THE NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT IS GOOD BUT COULD BUT COULD BE BETTER! all in all it is a great place for couples/familys/relaxation.the pools are very clean and fun park for kids and giant chest toys/swings etc.this hotel is a hour away from airport.in reception they do leaflets on trips you must go to oasis park where you can ride camels great experience also glass bottom boat absolutly worth the money.all in all great holiday quite cheap unless you want uk brands which are just the same as there brands .shops close by. worth going to you will not be diserpointed.only bad thing i have to say is to many cockroch at night but you get that no matter where you are.

to far from airport took us appox two and half hours. acomadation in hotel very good and very clean.
food is a bit slap dash and very poor for 4 star a lot of the time we had to wait for dishes and then for spoons at breakfast.
train which runs round complex is a bit hit and miss.
lot of steps and hilly.
beach is very good and sea is warmer than the main pool.
staff not very friendly.
drinks are poor, and bar closes at 11.00pm.
no money exchage at recieption you have to go to bank or hole in wall, if you go to bank dont forget your passport
we met other english their and we were all of the same opinion.

After just returned (this morning 22/04/2010)I am not going to go into all the faults about this resort but after reading other write ups before we went I was really hopeing it was the usual Butlins brigade from the UK but sorry they are correct in most of their grievences it really does need to look at itself as a holliday destination.

Jandia Dunas Paradise resort is fantastic. Take no notice of the bad reviews. We stayed for 3 weeks in Jan 2010 and there is nothing to complain about at all.
We stayed in the villas that people complain about. Brilliant. They were spacious and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and huge. The villa had a pleasant living area and the courtyards and fountains in the villa areas were picturesque.
We were all inclusive and there was nothing wrong with the food - lots of choice and very varied. I am a fussy eater and there was plenty for me to choose from. I do not eat meat but there were lots of other things to eat. The food was international, as were the guests. English people are catered for, as are the other nationalities. Lots of variety for breakfast, including bacon, eggs, sausage, beans, tomatoes, various choices of bread, cakes and croissants, fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cooked meat and cheese, pancakes and eggs were freshly cooked on the griddle, Lunch and dinner had several choices of meat each day. Fish and meat were cooked on the griddle in front of the guests. Lots of choice of meat, including pork chops, lamb chops, sirloin steak, chicken and turkey steaks, rabbit stew, veal casserole, chicken curry, Chinese meals etc. There was always a choice of fresh vegetables, lots of different salads, and of course plenty of choice for desserts. There were huge legs of pork being carved, lots of seafood, potatoes cooked in different ways, and there was always choices of pasta dishes. We never heard anyone complain about the food (or anything else)
The staff were all very friendly and polite, in all areas, including gardeners and maintenance. The shows each night were very good, the animation team worked hard and the shows were really varied.
The gardens are very well looked after and everything is extremely clean and well maintained, from the hotels to the pools and pathways.
The train was working every day during our 3 weeks. We did not use it as it is not far to walk from the hotel area to the main road, It is a pleasant walk as the gardens are so pretty with well looked after trees, shrubs and flowers. I expected a really steep hill it is just a gentle slope!!
There were plenty of British people staying at the complex, so do not imagine that it is all German. We were certainly treated with respect and friendliness by all the staff, including reception staff who DID speak English and sorted out a problem for us quickly, pleasantly and efficiently.
I would like to compliment all of the staff for their hard work. You were all brilliant. Hopefully people will ignore the ridiculous reviews that some people write.. I must admit to being apprehensive myself after seeing what some people had written. However, we discovered it was a wonderful place to stay.
Some people must just be professional complainers.
Hotel staff take the luggage (and guests) to the accommodation on arrival and pick luggage up again on departure (just book it at reception). Deposit for pool towels is £15 Euros per towel from reception.
Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday so enjoyable. You are all wonderful

After having read some of the reviews about this hotel my boyfriend and I were a bit apprehensive about our holiday. However, we decided to form our own opinions instead of concentrating on those of others.
Upon arrival to the hotel we had to wait an hour before our room was ready only to then be moved away from the main hotel and put in a 2 bedroom chalet, which had not being mentioned in the thomas cook brochure. When we went to reception to complain we were told that the dunas paradise belongs to a large complex of both hotels, chalets and self-catering chalets and once you are there they can place you in any of these, regardless of what you booked. This was the main dissapointment of our holiday as the chalet was away from the main hotel and its all-inclusive facilities whilst it had only been rated as the 3star whereas the hotel is 4star. The lights would flicker every so often in the chalet and the balcony was on the small side. On the other hand, the chalet was kept clean by an excellent maid staff.
The entire resort of Jandia is catered largely towards Germans and this is reflected by the food served in the hotel. Whilst it was edible not all of it was to our taste and the english descriptions of the food were vague such as 'meat with sauce'. The staff who work in the two restraunts were extrmemely helpful and kept the place looking clean and tidy.
My boyfriend and I only ever went into two of the available pools but would say that these were fantastic. There were always plenty of sunbeds to go around so you didnt have to put your towels out at a ridiculous time in the morning. Again staff made sure that the pools were kept very clean. The food at the pool bar was good (things like burgers and hotdogs). The only problem with the bar was that for a couple of days it was being staffed by a man who spoke minimal english and at one point had to say he did not speak our 'lingo'. Again this is due to the largely german population of the area. Throughout the week there was only about 15 english people staying at the hotel.
Being all-inclusive we did not go out for food, although places near the hotel did look nice, including things such as a rock cafe and steak grill. There is one british bar near the hotel where we would go on a night as it was nice to be able to have a conversation with people who spoke english.
Overall, I would say that Jandia and this hotel is a nice place to visit. Besides a mix up with rooms the only other thing that we found difficult was that a lot of things are written in german and staff from the local shops always assume at first that you are german and so you have to correct them quite a lot.

I have been reading the reviews for this hotel and am quite shocked by what I have read. I booked through the internet at Thomas Cook in January 2008. We'd been on holiday in the UK in July 2007 and it rained constantly so we thought we'd go abroad. We've been to Fuerteventura before and stayed at Corralejo but decided to try the other end of the island. We know people who have been to Jandia and said it's less German and more Spanish so we wanted to try.
We booked a family suite at the Dunas Paradise and were not disappointed by what we got. The room consisted of 2 bathrooms, two double bedrooms and a lounge with sofa and dining table (not that we needed that). Plenty of room for a family of four. We were located at the top of the hotel right by the tennis courts. It was a walk down hill to the restaurant and a walk back up or we could use the lift. The food was great, very plentiful and lots of choice. We managed to find plenty to eat every night. The staff were extremely friendly. My sons 11 and 16 enjoyed the many sporting activities on offer. Football, shooting, tennis, water polo, killer darts etc. The Animation team were superb. The evening entertainment couldn't be faulted and was very professional. The great thing about staying in the hotel part was if you didn't fancy watching the show you could just sit outside the Paradise Bar with a drink and play cards.
We went to both beaches, but found that the Coronado Beach was by far the best. Just a 10min walk through town. We planned it so that we went in the morning and came back just after dinner, calling in to the Africano Bar on the way back for a well deserved drink. There was also a snack bar serving chips and burgers and ice cream which was great.
All in all I can't fault this hotel, it was one of the best holidays I've ever had and would recommend it to anyone. As to getting bitten, we didn't get bitten once.

before i print any thoughts,i will say that our stay at the dunas apart from my moans which i shall come to was excellent. we could not fault the choices of food, the bar staff were very good, and the hotel grounds were kept very clean, except for the hotel corridor of the block we were in. it was the dumping ground for toilets by the many cats in and around the hotel.MY MAIN MOAN IS THAT IN ALL READ UPS TO THE HOTEL IS THAT NOTHING IS MENTIONED TO THE FACT THE HOTEL IS BUILT ON THE SIDE OF A HILL. if you or your company has any difficulty with walking up a long slope/short hills, or any of the many steps in the hotel,or if you have ashmatical or bronchical problems this hotel will not suit you at all.ONE QUOTE,( the beach is only a short food or drink stop away )all lies.the beach is on the other side of a busy roadway and along a 250metre wooden walkway. yes the beach is good, the sunbeds you pay for,4.5 euros for each bed and the beach bar is nothing to do with the hotel.SO if you are unlikely to be put into blck 5 ask for a change immediately to a room over looking the pool, there you will have some sort of chance to enjoy your stay

The buildings are good, room spacious and clean.Beds hard and lumpy and very uncomfortable. Fault in shower reported day 2/7 not fixed day 7/7. Handrails outside have end caps missing exposing sharp edges.
Reception staff vary from average to just plain ignorant.
Restaurant - good variety of dishes, but most main course stuff as been cooked then kept warm(ish) for so long it all tastes the same. Too many chipped plates, some not very well washed. By the time you queue and get al the parts of your main course, it is barely warm when you get to the table. Tables not cleared quickly and reset. Usually means you ahove to hunt for cutlery. The early breakfast provided for us when we going on a day trip consisted of leftovers from the previous nights dinner. Veg, pasta, bread, butter, fish & mussels. Left on a plate covered in clingfilm in the heat of the restaurant. Butter fish and mussels 'off' breakfast not edible.
The only helpful people in the staff were the housekeeping ladies.
Buildings may be 4* but the rest 1*

Just got back from one week in the Dunas Paradise villas, plenty of sun beds entertainment a bit limited, dodging the peacock poo a real pain, but the worst thing I found was the massive amount of flys in the dinning room they were landing all over the food and there were no fly killers at all, its a bit off putting when you scope up your fruit coctail and have to miss the dead flys swimming in it. We thought we were staying 4* but ended up in the 3* villas, the booking was very miss leading to say the least, I did not pay a cheap price but got a cheap holiday, and when I mentioned it to the rep she was not interested, she only wanted to sell me over priced sun cream and trips, also suggest you take insect repelant we were bit very badly a lot worse than when we went to Turkey, would I go again not if it were free.

A very well kept well organised resort, with beautiful landscapes and exotic birds and animals walking freely about to add to the ambience.
Food good, if a tad repetitive.
Restaurants and bars clean.
Entertainment spectacular, proffesional, and perhaps too sophisticated for some of the clientle, definately not for children!
Complaints, certainly. The rules are clear gentlemen will dress for dinner, this does not obviously mean black tie, but it means no vests and no swim shorts. Some people always English thought it a good idea to flount the rules and display their hideous and vile tattoos, sickening.

I stayed at Stella Paradise in November with my husband and 2 year old daughter. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. I felt the Hotel was too far away from the airport, it took over 2 hours to get there. On arrival, the hotel had not received my request to change our accommodation from the villa(the reviews were terrible)to the hotel. Our accommodation was a chalet which was quite nice, but not what we asked or paid for. It was however a distance from the hotel, up two hills (which would have been ok), but we had a two year old in a buggy. The food was ok for about a day, then it got really samey, by the end of the week, it was a thought to go to the restautant. The restaurant was too big with everyone to-ing and fro-ing with plates etc, not exactly a relaxing environment. On the whole, a very disappointing stay.
