Elena Studio and Apartments are about 10-15 minutes from the nearby airport - and whilst basic are very clean with lovely balconies and kitchen (should you need to cook!)- as well as a friendly atmosphere and nice vibe. The pool is very spacious, and normally tends to be quiet - a but like the whole resort really.
We have been for the last 3 years, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of both the apartments and the resort - Svoronata has a fantastic beach - Avithos - about 30 minutes walk or 5 minute drive away, or another beach about 10 minutes away. Avithos has 2 restaurants and a snack/beach bar - and plenty of sun beds that cost 6.00 Euros for 2 beds per day.
Food wise there are a handful of tavernas - the best being La Calma and Fois - serving local produce and good house white - meals are about 10-15 pounds per head including wine. There are also 2 bars - the Pit Stop and Crazy Georges both close enough, that also serve snacks and are open late.
Do NOT go to this resort if you are expecting a lively clubbing type atmosphere - you WILL be disappointed - however, if you want a quiet, relaxing and home away from home holiday with great hospitality and want to go home refreshed and counting the days until you come back then I can't recommend the apartments, taverna's, beach and resort highly enough.

The studio was very pleasant. The kitchen was VERY basic. there was an electric hob with no kitchen utensils (e.g fish slice) and one pan! This made s/c very difficult. The bathroom was more like a wet room. A plug hole on the floor and a shower head that was hand held. Plenty of hot water. Towels were changed once during the week. Buy toilet roll when it runs out! You have to pay extra for the air conditioning 5e/Day. There are patio doors that open out onto a small patio area/balcony. The bedding is one pillow and one sheet. This isn't changed everyday. The bathroom is mopped daily and kept very clean. the pool area is very nice and food and drink is available from the small bar on site. e.g toasties/pizza and english breakfasts. 5min walk to well stocked supermarket open from 9 - 10 even on a sunday! Nice restaurants - Acroplylis, Fois. Premier league bar grumpy and would not recommend. Would reccommend car hire for a few days to see Fiskardo, Argostoli, Scala. Go and watch the loggerhead turtles in Argostoli harbour. Recommend the glass bottomed boat excursion (sun cruise) - worth every euro especially if you have kids. Beach nr Fois steep but the best in the area. . Hardly noticed the planes... don't worry about them!

This is our 2nd visit this year - think that says something about the place. If you need a nightlife give Svoranata a miss and go to Lassi you will hate it. If you want to chill and rechage your batteries, this is the place for you. Not far from the aiprt, so don't pay for a transfer, it is cheaper tohop in a local taxi(15E each way). 3 beaches close by. Al Hellis is about 10 min walk,but there are steep steps down o it. Ammes is at the end of the runway, this is an amazing place to be on Tuesdays and Sundays as it is main flight days. I nevr thought I would sit on a beach watching the planes coming in but t is fab. Avithos is about 30 mins in the opposite direction and has a brill taverna on the beach. about 8 -10 Tavernas, my fav are Fois ad Dum Spiros. 1 Mini market- small but will get you all you need. 1 Bus a day into Argostoli - reurns at 2pm which on most days gives you long enough, otherwise get a taxi back. Go across to Lixouri on the boat/ferry.
Kettle and Shower curtains are in the rooms - in Greece this is posh, so don't expect alot and you will love it - rememeber the standards of 3* Greece is low compared to the UK, but then again we only sleep in the room so it doesn't cause us a problem. In 10 yrs we have visited Helena and Family 8 times - that 2 me says it all.
